  • love your beautiful feet on ice!

  • You're making me want to go for a walk. I think I'm going to go swimming tomorrow :). Thank you very much for making me want to get in touch with nature!

  • @Poncho151500 -- If we are indoors a lot, getting outside and touching nature, being with nature, will change how we feel and view the world..... as long as we leave the cell phone, ipad, etc. at home. ;) To connect with nature we need to just BE with nature. I wish you a FUN swim. I LOVE swimming. Thank YOU for stopping by. :) :)

  • Uniquely beautiful video Robin! And the ultimate gift to oneself... a moment of complete and utter connection with the world around you and the moment in time in which you were fully aware of it all. How powerful and profound your words were my friend... we do have a tremendous impact on all things surrounding us, yet sometimes we forget that this can be a truly positive thing. Thanks for reminding us, and for sharing some of that positive energy :-)

  • @intenseangler - Thank you SO much for this truly thoughtful comment. I am so touched by it. You are a visionary, my friend. I for one am deeply grateful that you are. Thank YOU for "seeing" and understanding....for knowing. You made my day!! :)

  • I appreciate what you're doing here (and saying) but you must remember that animals that run wild in nature (bears, foxes, geese, wildcats, skunks, etc.) do what people's pets and horses naturally do too in or near the creek. I'm thinking there's probably greater polluters. Running water, especially if it gets up a good head of steam purifies itself over a certain distance. Of greater concern is all the trash people leave that doesn't decompose. But then, you know that.

  • @merhlin - I think there's some truth in what you say. I also know that the number of people during a day who walk their dogs beside this creek & others here, are far larger in numbers than the local wildlife. I think you're right about it not being a species thing, but rather the numbers of any species. In places like the southwest USA, we can have extreme long & dry periods, sometimes an entire year with little or no rain, so the creeks don't get the gushing purifying that you mention..

  • @RainforestRobin Yes, well, the closer you get to people the worse the pollution and smaller streams with very gentle slope will indeed take longer to purge the impurities. When I was young, I used to drink freely from mountain streams above timberline but now they even recommend against doing that. I do love the way you are in touch with and in reverence of nature. Didn't mean this to be a "criticism." Thank you for taking it the way it was intended.

  • @merhlin Oh!! U R a dear heart. How KIND!! :) I never took it as criticism, In fact, it's a wonderful insight,

& true in so many places. I love things that make me think & challenge me. I have few beliefs & love exploring things. When I lived in the Australian rainforest MANY years ago, I too could drink right from the streams & not worry about pathogens or other pollutants. But now that is changing. The places where we can drink "pure" water right from the ground become fewer and fewer. Tnk U

  • @merhlin I also notice that there is very little"wild scat" near the water, even in more remote areas. Many species (not all) know not to pollute their water or home. I also agree with you about the trash that is left behind, everything from cigarette butts to tin cans, to broken bottle, to plastic bags, and paper. I appreciate your thoughtful insights on this. I think the creeks in higher rainfall/snow areas have a slightly better chance of flushing out. Thank U for taking the time to share :)

  • Having done som ecold barefoot hiking recentley?

  • Very nice :o) Your tougher than me :o) Won't catch me barefoot...hehe!

  • @Ggreenvideos - LOL!! And yet, you do a lot of things that I aspire to do. That's why I LOVE your videos!! :D

  • Can you walk for hours barefoot in snow?

  • @19citron I've never tried it for hours, but I've have done it for probably an hour or more. If you keep moving and really get your blood going, usually your feet stay warm. Not always, but often. also it helps if your feet are toughed up all summer and autumn. I've not done much snow walking this winter, other than this video. Because I recently wrote my book, Naked in Eden, and then it was published. I was kept indoors more than I like. But I hope that will change this spring. :)

  • Very beauiful feet! How long can you hike barefoot in snow? Impressed..

  • @19citron - I've been going barefoot for many years, especially hiking or jogging in nature. I started doing it when I lived wild in the rainforests of Australia. It is very healthy not only for the feet, but the entire body. Do a Google search for barefoot hikers (runners). You will find a lot of info on it. It's becoming much more common nowadays. Thanks for stopping in!! :) :)

  • Wow how you can do somethink like this, it's so cold and you're going barefoot. Happy birthday to you even if your birthday was on december, thanks for sharing

  • @nuvolabianca49 -- Thank you my friend!! I often hike barefoot year round, which makes my feet get very tough and accustomed to not only most textures, but also to much colder temps. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind comment. :) Robin

  • Robin, it's so good to see you again. I love this video. I can feel your feet bonding with the earth. You are always amazing.

  • @sctshep -- This is sooo weird. I was LITERALLY just thinking about you yesterday. I ran across an old post of mine (one of my first) and saw your incredible comment, and my heart was just filled by your unique and refreshing spirit. And then here you are today. Wow!! I'm just blown away. Talk about synchronicity! I hope you are doing really well and doing all the creative things you love doing. HUGE hugs to my friend. Robin :) :)

  • What a wonderful journey you've taken us along on. Thank you!

  • @MoodyJill -- Aww, thank you. What an honor to think that I have taken you on a journey. That touched my heart. In guess we all are on this planet journeying together, aren't we?!! :)

  • Thank you for another beautiful video! It is so nice to see how you enjoy all mother earth has to offer us and how we need to respect her and take care of her! Happy Birthday my dear friend...................Tom

  • @1620416204 -- Hey Tom!! So good to see you here. Thank you for the kind birthday wishes. :) This hike was the best birthday gift I could have given myself. I know you understand that. :) And you are SO right about how much mother earth has to offer us. You are one who really knows this from firsthand experience. Thank you my friend. Robin :)

  • Your video was visual poetry. I enjoyed it. Those that spend their lives in offices and other artificial environments miss out on the finest of things. Thanks for reminding the rest of us to take it all in.

  • @enjoythewildUSA - I just love your insight here. Love these words: "Those that spend their lives in offices and other artificial environments miss out on the finest of things." How TRUE that is, so many people seek and seek, and shop and shop, and want more and more things, when right under their noses is the very thing that could nurture, satisfy and enrich their lives. As you SO wisely say, they "miss out on the finest of things", (which are free). Thank you SO much. :) :)

  • @RainforestRobin Yes, they are free. I have never seen anything so stunning in a city as a sunrise over a glacial lake in the Sierras, the mist moving through a cove in the Channel Islands, or an owl taking it all in while perched above my camp. I have met the nicest, and most interesting people in the outdoors. Thanks for the inspiration, Robin. Great way to start the week.

  • @enjoythewildUSA - What a BEAUUUUUTIFUL image you create. So moving, and so true. It truly is something that must be EXPERIENCED to be known. And once known, it is never forgotten. It becomes part of who we ARE. Which of course is our natural state.

  • Dear Lady Happy Late Birthday, Grounded and at peace with Mother Nature, May She and The Great Spirit always smile on you and guide you with a gentle hand.

Thank you again Robin, as always my best,...JC

  • @bcafotw --- Dear JC, you are such a gem!! I LOVED your words here, especially this: "...May She and The Great Spirit always smile on you and guide you with a gentle hand..." That is so BEAUTIFUL!! You couldn't have spoken more precious or needed words to me. I find am needing this very type of guidance more than ever in my life. I am grateful for your understanding and knowing of this. Bless you my friend. Robin
