  • M113 is arguably best light tank, still its better than having all those useless Strykers and Humves for sure

  • The argument here is absolutely irrefutable...

The problem is military culture is hugely entrenched, the egos are immense, and the procurement processes are highly profitable.

  • M548 cargo carrier

    M1108 universal carrier

could also be superb in delivering supplies X country. Like the drop down sides. Much like the SA buffel personnel/cargo carrier. This drop down sides could be adapted to the variants above as well.

Its time to go back to the proven and more reliable designs for combat.

  • M548 cargo carrier

could also be used for taking supplies over X country.

I do like like the drop down sides like the buffel SA personnel/cargo carrier.

This could adapted on the other variants mentioned above.

  • 1:40 that little bit in the bottom-right corner about a sealing roads, I assume they're talking about the Engineer Corps' Mobile Mixers, the ones that fill in holes in roads from blasts.

The point where I realized how truly ridiculous the employment of wheeled vehicles in a warzone is, is the point where I saw that for the first time. Mobility was so poor they had to stand around mixing concrete because even the roads were no-go for wheelers. I got a migraine just thinking about that.

  • Anyone who seriously entertains the notion that Wheeled vehicles alone can sustain a military's Logistics has never met General Winter or General Mud.

    And it's not like there aren't any alternatives to Wheeled Trucks already available;

  • why are they not using this..god their fucking retarded

  • An Army officer writes 3:

Either way this is brilliant. Tracked logistics is the way to go. Von Mellenthin in his book Panzer Battles wrote that from the Wehrmacht experiences in Poland, Yugoslavia and Russia, all military vehicles should be the tracked variety as they didn't get stuck in the mud and cross country capability became very important for finding routes off road.

    Thanks, XXXXX

  • An Army officer writes 2:

This solution can and will replace our light to medium trucks as well as the PLS, provided that the XM1108 has a self lifting mechanism that can pull a 20 foot container upon itself, or get a tracked forklift equivalent.

  • An Army officer writes 1:

"As a logistician myself looking at the cargo carrier Gavin and the XM1108, I think this solved the answer for making our logistics tracked. In a manner similar to the Hobart's Funnies to which I credited in my thesis, as well as you I must add, this is a solution that can be implemented NOW.
