Hello my friend ! Actually, this very precious BBC sound was not recorded at Wembley STADIUM but in a very famous concert hall in London called the WEMBLEY ARENA, formerly Wembley Empire Pool (probably because it must have been some sort of dockyard in the glorious days). The mistake was very easy to make. I don't think Pink Floyd ever played at Wembley Stadium, bearing in mind their deep hate for large crowds that reached the point of building a WALL on stage between them and their audience.
@elocrellim hi there - re your Pink Floyd reply about Wembley stadium...well, there certainly was a Wembley stadium in the 70's, which was demolished in 2003, replaced by the present one in 07. fascinating to hear this performance - thanks to Musicarchivio for posting.
@elocrellim FWIW, actually that isn't right. The old Wembley Stadium ,( which confusingly was originally called The Empire Stadium) was a different thing from Wembley Arena (which was originally called The Empire Pool,) the first is an outdoor stadium. The second is an indoor venue,
@HerewardTheWake3 Funnily enough_I have just seen a wikipedia entry suggesting PF DID play at wembley stadium for 2 nights, but not until August 1988, which is apparently the momentary lapse tour, but nb I am no expert so this may not be right. re the large crowds thing wasn't that meant to be waters' thing rather than whole band (so your logic would fit with it being after his departure) ? anyway isn't it fascinating to hear this recording. best wishes man

@HerewardTheWake3 Another reason they never played Wembley Stadium might also be because it didn't exist in the 70's.
