  • this was the best loved it

  • CHICAGO!!!

  • i remember looking forward to watching this every weekwhen i was age 7-10.whole family actually sitting together and watching tv in one room. can you imagine?

  • Have to agree with vampire 911! I loved the movies they showed when I was a kid but oh Lord that image of Lon Channey Sr.!! (Still scares me to death and I'm in my 40's, had to scroll down the page before the end of the video 'cause I knew he was coming! LOL!)

  • I LOVE STUFF LIKE THIS. ITS SPOOKY, CREEPY AND HAUNTING. WE NEED THESE KIND OF LATE NIGHT HORROR SHOW AGAIN.

  • Too bad ther are little or no video's of "Shock Theater" from the late 50"s, also produced in Chicago. I miss Marvin and his house band "The Dead Beats".

  • best thing growing up as a kid....scary as hell!!! had a few nightmares......my parents were crazy enough to let us stay up as kids!!

  • The "theme song" is experiment in terror from the 1962 Movie of the same name directed & arranged by Henry Mancini .

  • totally agree it scared me to death too..so to speak..my brother used to torment me at night with the theme song and i'd run out the room screaming.. had to watch it again as a grown up ..and still my heart was pounding..go figure

  • Does anyone remember this growing up in MC

  • This show intro use to scare the hell out me,when i was a little kid growing up in Chicago. When i heard this on the tv,i would run out of the room(lol).I think this contributed to many nightmares of Dracula and Frankenstein chasing me.

  • @etp095 My brother and I were also terrified as children whenever we heard that theme and that hideous animated looking Phantom Of The Opera.

  • If you lived in Chicago in the 60's Friday night everyone watched this and if it was summer you could hear the black and white in every house, and then Bert Weinman your tv ford man had a great car deal for you! :)

  • if You lived in chicago in the 60's as a kid this was the stuff,Everyone was into Creature Features on WGN Friday night.Warm summer nites you could almost hear every house that had their windows open playing the Intro. And then Bert Weinman your TV ford man had a showroom deal for ya! :)

  • @PathfinderMac Bert Weinman I havent heard that name since the 70's and you probably remember Bouchelle carpets!!! LOL!!!

  • @PTen1932 And the phone number: HUdson3-2700 (sung with that deep baritone voice).

  • The original music to this was by Henri Mancini. It was on the move Experiment In Terror.

  • That music used to creep me the f**k out. I tried to make sure to be asleep by the time it came on.

  • Scary even today

  • This show would scare the hell out of me, glad I wasn't a only child have 7 brothers, always someone around even though,I was always the last one to fall asleep. I really miss those days.

  • memories...lights off 1970ish

  • memories, watching this saturday nite in winthrop harbor , Illinois, with the lights out...

  • such good tv show back in the day

  • finally........wgn ruined me with the cubs but they made up for it with creature features. and now i know whodid the theme song........aaarrghhhh!!!!!

  • Arrrrggghhh! Not the werewolf feet in the fog!

    (thanks so much for posting)

  • That creepy whisperer sounds like Dan Haupert!!!

  • Oh, wow what WGN did in the 70's & 80'S. My mom would catch us watching us this(we turned it down so low). Really was a bummer then...so we had to watch "Love American Style" & laugh out the frustrations out by watching that show. She had good intentons. She was a good mom.

  • Is there anyone that can tell me how to download this to disc because i would like to have a copy in my movie collection. please thank you. Not really this one but the other one without the talking.

  • @Namiiarii keepvidDOTcom

  • Oh wow! I watched Creature Feature during the 1970's! Creepy but great music and the picture of that monster at the end...always scared me! LOL Still I watched every week!

  • the Moon-Rays recorded this in 2002 off the album Thrills and Chills

  • This is cool. Is this sound recording recent? The original C.F. intro music , of course , was the theme to "Experiment in Terror" by Henry Mancini (Same song heard here.). The Renfields , from Chicagoland , did a great version of this, and the original Svenghoulie theme ("Rumble" byLink Wray w/ screaming ladies dubbed in.).

  • I was like a little kid in a candy store when I found this!

Thank you SO much! Brought back tons of terrific happy childhood memories of my childhood staying up late watching with my daddy.

    This is a keeper!!!!

    Thank YOU for posted!!!!
