  • That was amazing! I wish she reacted in a more realistic way according to the situation but overall it was great.

  • I like the editing and the color grading, so in this short film you used your own plug ins? the ones on sale for Sony Vegas.

  • haaha that was great

  • Well done... :)

  • What was the lens used at 10 seconds? When it said "A Three Tremors Film"?

  • @ryandiamond01 I believe that was the Canon 17-40mmm L f 4

  • very very nice work with a funny storyline! love it!

  • nice video and score

  • Where was this shot?

  • I was looking for stunning visual shot... and I found this video, th ephotography in your video is stunning as well, very nice work. keep it up!

  • very well done! How long the the actual shooting take? and how did you record the audio? Did you synchronize it afterwards?

  • amazing videos guys. This was the first thing I saw from your channel and have enjoyed all your other work. I noticed that you used a 5D on your last on location vid?

  • i dont even have to set it to 1080p

  • Wow! My favorite video of yours so far. Awesome video.

  • awesome!

  • @MrAmitaph Quick question, how did you find this video? I only ask because I just got like 3 comments in 15 minutes and it's been all quiet on this video for months. Makes me think it's been posted somewhere cool.

  • @Dod3032

new youtube feature that posts your subscription's comments on the homepage.

  • @Dod3032 it was on my youtube wall. how did u record the voice?

  • Nobody actually speaks like that in Ireland. Whenever I watch videos with Irish people, I end up looking at the Irish in third person rather than first person because of the portrayal of the accents :)

  • @SeanThomasTV Yeah but this was in the 1800's. For all you know they did speak like that back then. Ha ha. Seriously though, we know. We took 0:00 to study accents.

  • @Dod3032 Ya you really F'd this one up guys. There wasn't even one potato in it.

  • @DOONWAVE Ha ha ha. Are potatoes big in Ireland? I thought that was Idaho.

  • @Dod3032 Haha, I don't mind. We don't get offended by it, its actually really funny :)

I absolutely loved the opening shot to this, you're color correcting is really good. I can never seem to achieve that kind of look when I'm making my movies.

  • @SeanThomasTV Thanks man. :) It was so much fun to film, I think that comes through in the video. Heavy contrast and saturation!!

  • @Dod3032 Yeah, I love watching the behind the scenes, you guys definitely seem to have a lot of fun on set.

  • They never cease to amaze me. The quality of the film and the voice over work really did a good job and bringin me in. Now i gotta buy a Canon T2i now..lol

  • can i ask you what your favorite lens is?

  • Comment removed

  • There is NO WAY they did this with just a T2i. Looks like a freakin Pro Movie! This was beast...

  • So proffesional!

  • This looks Great, nice story as well. what did you use to color correct with? was it Magic Bullet ?

  • Fantastic job! Looks professional in every way. Stunningly pleasing to the eye - I won't get bored watching it over and over again. And it really is funny. Marvelous!

  • Love this- you guys have almost the same setup and workflow that I do! AE for cc, vegas for editing, T2i w/Magic Lantern, etc.

Makes me want to get up and shoot something creative instead of all this corporate work I'm doing now. Thanks for posting this!

Also- impressive stabilizer work- did you guys use the IS lens for that? (looks like you had a kit lens in your arsenal and BTS) I have a steadycam that I use, but it never looked as smooth as you guys got it! Stabilize in post maybe?

  • @Dod3032

what did you guys use for sound quality? did u guys use a rode mic or something else .? seriously. Im thinking of getting this camera..the quality looks great and all, but im a person whos big on sound quality as well.

  • Oh my, you guys are just too funny.

  • How long did this take to make and what is magic lantern suppose to do?

  • this seems a bit silly, but i loved every second of it. not to mention those staches were friggin awesome!

  • wow this is awesome! can't bereave that you shot this with the T2i. what lenses did you use?

  • Did u get the sound on the feild or filled in the sound later dubbing

  • @Smalskin Had to do a little of both, it was crazy windy up there, used what we could from the shoot but even with a windscreen a lot of it was lost.

  • hey loved the video it was actually pretty cool even though i found myself asking myself why i watched it i thaught it was cool.

also how did you do the slow zoom and tilt at the begining. did you use some type of rig?

  • Please tell me about the importance of q scale. Thanks

  • It really looks like you used a wide angle lens how did you get some of the scenes so wide?

  • This is by far my favorite short film on youtube. Awesome job. Check out our first episode! and keep these vids coming!

  • Nicely shot and edited. Shame about the accents :P

  • Haha great job guys, love this.

  • Well this video was just epic in it's own awesome way!

  • this was a great video guys. good work. how did u go about with the audio?? did you record just outside or did you record some dialog seperate from the actual shot and sync it up?

  • complimenti ,siete bravissimi , un giorno spero di vedervi nelle sale cinematografici ,continuate ad allenarvi siete nella starda giusta .

  • I'm a portuguese amateur film maker and i'm saving some money yo buy nest April a Canon 550D with 18-55mm and 55-250mm lens kit. You're short film is very good. I would buy the sky and the moon just to be friend of you both and learn and share experiences about film making. See my videos and search "jmlmo35".

    Thanks.

  • @jmlmo35 I mean "your" not "you're".

    I'm sorry...

  • Shot on the same camera I have...I need to get to work.

  • WOW is all I can say.

Luke.. you took the DSLR world to a new level, I enjoyed the film and I hope you make a film with a bigger meaning next time,

    loved the cinematic look.

  • Complimenti siete bravissimi ,spero di rivedervi al piu' presto nelle sale cinematografici.

  • You guys are my heroes. Great job!

  • Have anything to eat I'm quite famished?

  • on this one i wanna know about the color correction on the shot at 2:50

  • You're a wizard Harry!

  • @Isaacconquest Ha ha..what? Where is the Harry Potter connection?

  • @Dod3032 Same accent... Or at least to my uncultured Australian ears. Reminded me of

    /watch?v=x0uNHe7J_dY

  • @Isaacconquest That is, 2:43 reminded me of it.

  • @Dod3032 haha, exactly what i thought, i was about to write it and i didn't think anyone would have thought of it ! made me laugh so much when i saw your comment

  • @froidalo Which one??

  • @froidalo oops sorry , that was supposed to go to ' isaacconqest' :s and btw he was referring to this video ;) (( youtube.com/watch?v=ceJ_DeT-c3M ))

  • @Dod3032 I think he's implying to the accent.

  • this was so awesome

  • man I have to say I really enjoyed this great vid. u guys need to have mini shows of this. it was very funny and kept me tuned in lol

  • You guy's are amazing! Good work.

  • that is the best look ive ever seen from this camera, what would you say made it so good, the lenses/colour correction or something else I dont know about? as im still learning

  • Nice! This was good and I like that this was done with the T2i.

  • I would like to know about the shot at 5:05. Was the camera shake done with the camera, or can you program Vegas to do this kind of effect?

  • very professioinal

  • How bout going back and flipping the video so it makes it look like you're looking to the left instead of right?

  • the camera angles are a little weird at 2:30 to about 3:30 or so. Luke is looking to his right when he should be looking to his left. How bout a reshoot? lol

  • @ThelovelyBeards Why should I be looking to my left? Do I switch in between takes or something? I didn't even notice! Ha ha, you guys catch everything.

  • @Dod3032 what card did you use, because 16 scale will cause an overload if you are using like a class 6 or even 10 card right? thanks

  • @Dod3032 what memory card did you use since you shot in 16 scale? TThanks

  • @Dod3032 violating the 180 rule

  • @asiegel1202 Where?

  • @Neumannfilms between 2:30 and 3:30

  • @Neumannfilms I may be wrong... and don't mean to criticize... your work in truly inspiring... something just feels off with the direction your eyes are looking

  • @asiegel1202 Maybe that, but that isn't breaking the 180 degree rule.

  • @ThelovelyBeards

Nothing a good horizontal flip in post can't fix!

  • from watching the bts, i relised what you did at 0:55, very well done i would say

  • @RedSpectrumPictures What do you mean exactly?

  • @Dod3032

it looks like you used set extension, did you mask the building out and put it back into the forest. sorry if you didnt do this

  • @RedSpectrumPictures Oh right, no I just clone stamped a few things out, there was a sign, my car, a lamppost and some other little things that didn't belong. Good eye.

  • @Dod3032 I thought somethings had gone, it just shows how into films I am, that im so observant, anyways luke, keep up the good work

  • @Dod3032

sorry, i relised it was a stupid comment, i was wrong :(

  • GREAT WORK but you fell into the stereotypical trap by portraying the IRISH as drunkards. Other than that, I love checking out your latest uploads. Very TALENTED filmmakers and ye are LIVING a GREAT life!

  • @maccarthaigh1122 Ha ha, well that was almost the entire point of the characters. Don't forget the fighting and smoking...

  • @Dod3032 lol, true!..... I have great respect for ye guys. I think ye could set up a dslr filmmaking school. Ye would make a fortune and could invest it into some bigger budget films.

  • @Dod3032 lol, true!..... I have great respect for ye guys. I think ye could set up a dslr filmmaking school. Ye would make a fortune and could invest it into some bigger budget films. .

  • Project is just great!

    Best wishes from Lithuania!

  • amazing quality. quick question.. what exactly does qscale do on the t2i?

  • where did you guys film this? real nice scenery!

  • Real nice short film, funny and nice shots. I really love amateur acting which gives this film an interesting look and feel. The brother in the story is so nice to wait 1 or 2 days to drink the rest from the bottle. I enjoyed the film.

  • @huni50huni Ha ha, yes. I hadn't thought of that. The one nice thing he did.

  • super camera work I laways love your guys work.. love it I tell yeah!! later guys.. Im getting the t3i next month cant wait to start my own stuff.

  • LMAO, that's some epic acting right there !

  • I think it is very well received

I also have the canon 18-55 camera 550/t2i

reaches the objective or should I buy other objective

    Cemil from Germany

  • I use sony vegas, and I can still not get anywhere close to this quality. I tried to follow your tutorial, but I think I am doing something wrong somewhere..

  • The quality your getting out of sony vegas is amazing, I'm an amatuer and i have problems my video during editing, they keep on skipping frames and i don't know exactly why? Can you help? I use vegas 9.0 and use mpeg streamclip to compress my files.

  • @chillakilla891 I'm guessing it happens in Streamclip, I never have that issue with Vegas.

  • @Dod3032 If thats so, then how do you compress your footage to make it editing friendly. The H.264 codec makes it impossible to edit.

  • i love the shot where pete throws the gun towards the camera... really nice...

  • @jellis4289 Agreed. I was happy with a lot of the shots in this one. The location was epic.

  • @Dod3032 yeah where was that?

  • oh my gosh he flips over bread in the beginning i didnt see that the first four times i watched it. Amazing short, sooo good. deffinetly has potential to kick some ass at some film festivals

  • Still no Vimeo upload yet? What gives guys?

  • @ThelovelyBeards I have tried like 4 times now with different files and I keep getting errors...maybe Youtube isn't so bad after all:) I think I will just upload the same cut that I did here.

  • Watched this again (for the 5th time) after watching the BTS today. The first few times I was so caught up in the cinematography and the amazing colors that I missed how much I loved the characters (especially Pete's). I would love to see more of the McCormick Brothers.

  • @RyanFarley000 We are...sort of working on a story for a sequel. It would be a while though.

  • Really fantastic and just amazing looking...

  • Really fantastic and just amazing looking...

  • This was Awesome! Great Job! :D

  • I want to see them make more bread!

  • you broke the 180 rule a few times during the dialog and it confuses the viewer. don't cross the line between characters with the camera after you pick a side.

  • @topaboss Minute and second please. Don't spew your "Videomaker" rabble here, I will tear you apart, friend.

  • @Dod3032 Sorry, I like your work a lot, I just noticed it cause I kept getting confused at the angles. Let's say 2:30 - 3:30 as an example - the camera is always pointing from the right of both people (slightly but present, if you follow the eyeline), also maybe 4:25-4:28 etc. Just constructive criticism, but everything looks beautiful.

  • @topaboss Do you know what the 180 degree rule is?

  • @Dod3032 One can break that rule if one has established the exterior or interiors surroundings.

    Don't be fighting, boys.

  • fantastic!! really enjoyed it.

  • hahaha! I loved this!! Excellent work guys!

    "how long was I out?

    One or two days!?

    Yeah I hit you good"

    Love the Characters!!!

    beautiful cinematography!

  • that was hilarious... i love it when pete yells "My Bread!!" i busted out laughing... that was awesome

  • What mic was used in the production?

  • Watched a few more times today while showing other filmmaker colleagues...more impressive with each viewing. The second pass brought some familiarity to the characters n now i want to see more...

  • @freaksarise Good! I can see that too. After my own expectations have died down a bit and I have watched it it has become better in my eyes as well. I have been my own worst critic on this thing so it took a while to be able to watch it without judging.

  • @freaksarise bravooooo

  • What amazing film making. Accents were a bit off at times, and i've never heard an irishman say "aye" thats a scottish thing. Although maybe they do. But brilliant film making. Well done :) Ur vids are always good :)

  • Well done! You guys are so inspirational! I'm just learning the very basics with this camera ~ it's visually stunning!

How long did it take to shoot?

  • You guys should be getting more views than this, nice work! As soon as I get money it's t2i or t3i for me.

  • A very nice piece of work! This film makes a very strong case for the T2i. Well done!

  • I really love how you utilised the H4n for this short film with it being clear and no wind. Must be windy on those hills! Color Correction is top notch too :)

  • Haha sooo funny

  • wow, where was this filmed? i'd love to just lay down there and stare at the sky.

  • Thats amazing guys! You inspired me to buy a T2i, and I love it so much. I'm a young filmmaker and I hope to be as good as you someday!

  • hahah i love the end!

  • you guys can do magic with the 550d i got one from meself but it never attained a great image quality like you guys

  • bravo guys!!! only the thing was not nice for my eyes was the correction for GREEN in the back in 2:49 and in 2:13 I think so bright... it would be nice to make them like in 3:39 =))

  • just amazing

  • Amazing.

  • @ThelovelyBeards Far and Away

  • Damn Luke I love the scenery. Wish I had breathtaking views like that. Makes me want to move further north!

  • @breadsunbeam Consistent...existent. Ha ha. Yeah. Great gun sound effects eh?? Yours were at the forefront for sure.

  • Great movie! I love the t2i & your tutorials!

But could you maybe give a overview of your audio gear and the way you shoot and record audio at set? That would be awesome!

I bought a Zoom H1, but it's such a hard work to put external audio in time with the video shots... I'm still searching for a right system...

  • Great bit of work, Gang.

Costumes looked great. Angles were nice and natural - I felt almost like I was getting my head pounded by a drunk. Location where y'all shot this was nothing short of beautiful.

Thanks so much for sharing this short with us.

    Really glad I watched it.

    Take care

    Scott

  • this is sweet

  • this was really nicely done. kept expecting to see a breakaway bottle being put upside someone's head though. worked out better for the script i think this way but it was a good, fun, silly, yet beautiful to look at piece of short cinema actually.

  • Great film! Congratulation! I have a Rebel T2i and have varios shor film here you tube!

  • how long did it take you guyz to record and finish this project

  • lol that dude walks like House

  • Honestly you guys I would have paid to see this! Especially do to the fact it was shot on the t2i! Plus the storyline was superb! Keep it up!

  • 550D is amazing, this was all shot with one single camera ?

  • BRILLIANT!! I watched it 720...The QScale was at -16 right?

  • LOL. 6 dislikes from 6 Irish men. haha.

  • WOW. What wonders you can do with this camera, huh? You guys are a REAL inspiration to me. Its you guys and Film Riot now. hehe. My two favorites! Anyways, good job, dude! AMAZING stuff... - Nic from the Philippines

p.s. I am assuming that the lovely lady is your wife?

  • @freedomfighter213 My two favorites...Film Riot and this Trio!

  • Bravo! Great work ! You must live in a beautiful place to get the backdrops in this film.

I have one question tho... why does Kellen McCormick have a tongue piercing @ 3:36 ? The beast that is 1080p and the fact that your work is so clear, lead me to seeing this..sorry!

I really enjoy your work , and your help in making me a better photographer/ producer..i look forward to watching more..

  • That was awesome. Your voice reminded me of the SNL skit with with Sean Connery on Jeopardy. :)

  • the color themes seems off and made me jump at a closeup when you say "its not bad"... overall...the best t2i pictures on youtube my friend...

  • I am a follower of you, but I'm from Mexico Cancun, Mexico would have more fans if translated into Spanish ...

very good video but I really liked the last ...

  • Do you use more than one DSLR for your films?

  • @sebastianvader yes he does.

  • Fantastically awesome guys. You are doing such a great work, continue like that.. Congratulations..!!

  • congratulations

  • Looks fantastic! You guys need a bit of voice coaching, but from what I got from this, these characters are of Irish/Scottish/danish/English decent :)

Seriously though, you really are getting fantastic results from the this little beauty of a camera.
