The caterpillar (imomushi) was scared of the black caterpillar (kemushi). Apparently the Japanese have different words for different types of caterpillars!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a more direct translation of what the black caterpillar said was "I don't want to be called that by another caterpillar." XD
@KLiMin Oh I couldn't tell! I don't speak Japanese. Anyway in my country the largest one would be called "oruga" and the black one "gata peluda". (I found out the scientific name of the black one is Hylesia nigricans, the other one... don't know! xD) but I understand your point, it has sense! Thanks a lot!

I don't speak Japanese well but I looked up a few words.
虫 = むし = mushi = insect, bug, worm
芋 = いも = imo = potato
毛 = け = ke = hair, fir
芋虫 = イモムシ = imomushi = literally means potato bug/worm but as a word it means hairless caterpillar
毛虫 = ケムシ = kemushi = hairy caterpillar

Ah, the wonders of language.
Japanese has different words for butterfly and moth larvae, but not for frogs and toads, nor alligators and crocodiles.
Words are interesting.
