Not odd at all. You "should" say toilet (to sound proper); loo is supposed to be slang. In order to travel the way they were traveling, we can assume this is something of a posh crowd.

I get a bit annoyed at times because you're dealing with agatha christies morals and sensibilities, not poirots or marples. one of the problems with actors and character portrayal in stories designed firstly to entertain.
Finally had to cruise the internet to find out where I'd seen the actor playing Norman Gale before...must've been on The Bill, another great British police show.
