i am muslim american, and i like to thank dr Ramdan for this inspirational message he is trying to promote sincerely. i am sure that is the message of Islam as a great religion. pleae keep your head above your shoulders, be positive in presenting your self and work together is best way for all of us. put aside the hate, just try, you may succeed. I will.
The Muslims of Europe need to form some kind of organized leadership, and have someone who is chosen by European Muslims to both lead and represent them.
As an American christian I am greatly encouraged by Mr. Ramadan's message. It's refreshing to hear that there are muslims who can live in a culture and work to conquer stigmatisms and prejudices in a positive way. I think it's important that all religions and politicians stand up against militant extremism in all religions and work towards the common goal of peace where all people can thrive in a community together. Voices of reason and mutual respect can meet with success.
@emeraldisle8 Not only are there Muslims like Dr Ramadan, but they are our leading scholars. If you look at the Islamic Summit of North America, you'll notice that the scholars who are leading the large majority of Muslims globally are not trying to force Islam on others, threatening with violence, etc, but instead, we're trying to enlighten ourselves spiritually and better the lives of our community, but unfortunately, because of the cultural climate, we have to defend what we believe daily.
@rezzinator1110 I think that Muslims will find the cultural climate better when they can stand up and defeat the militant extremists in the USA. It's those very extremists that Americans fear. Sadly, christians are rapidly loosing their freedoms, as well. Obama nixed our day of prayer, while honoring a day of prayer for Muslims. Not only that, but he is honoring Ramadan. When one faith is sacrificed for another, those that follow the neglected faith tend to resent the leadership.
@emeraldisle8 That being said, it must be emphasized that force IS NOT the way to spread ones faith, and I, as a Christian, would encourage those nonviolent muslims to stand up against those very militants that are causing fear and mistrust in both religions. Our government is utterly foolish to allow the hate speeches against 'the infidels' by the militants. There has to be some limit on free speech, i.e. when that free speech breeds violence, etc.
@emeraldisle8 Actually,if we are muslims,it doesn't mean we are , what people think , people who judge us by our religion , it doesn't mean we are close-minded but the opposite, islam insists on being intellectual and open-minded,as it insists on sharing ideas and HELPING each other,we don't hate othere or other religions,it's the opposite,we respect them!
