With your 180 guide i think you may have omitted some key steps. You MUST turn electronic stability control off or the car's electronics will try and stop the car from sliding.
Also whenever doing this maneuver in an automatic i always shift the car into neutral after pulling on the e-brake.
no ttryin to be an ass but i think that the 180 forward should read (in summary) "steering wheel 90 deg THEN lift the E-brake" ... Least thats how i always did it... 1)turn, 2)steer not the other way round... but good tips tho...
@TruAzn100 it might not be that good to start with stick, but i would recommend learning it as soon as possible because chances are you don't want to be a person who "doesn't drive stick." stick is much more interactive way of driving and you have much more control over the car.
lifting off the throttle in a severe understeer situation should be done carefully, or you could induce oversteer unintentionally. most cars are engineered to avoid this, but if driving " like a racecar driver" you might find yourself in a car with sport suspension. the aforementioned mistake is much more likely in such a case.
Thanks for the instructional video! One question though is how do you drift around corners on the track, do you need to apply throttle and then turn in the direction of the corner while applying the e-brake. Basically by doing this the car is over-steering around the corner right? thanks
@btakilla do not use your e-brake. just use a low gear and "gun it" and turn u will hear a "skweeeeell" and then correct the turn back in the direction of the drift, (DO NOT OVER CORRECT this is how you crash)

Very cool -- very informative. I went to their site to download the PDF guide so I could go through the information slower.---
Now I am ready to go do some 180s! - much cooler than doing a burnout. :-)
