Because statement like "i dont like athiest" in angry voice makes muslims look intolerant- he should of said i dont agree with athiesm (the concept it self) not the people.. There are billions of people following moderate Islam, you don't have to go back to history and try to repeat the same practise again. Instead, people keep their faith in Islam, they share the main idea. The radical people you see on TV are actually fighting for a political reason.

We don't necessarily follow what we have been told to but, sipmly you can sense that there is God, and path showen by him makes us to make the honest decision, no matter if you are a Jew, a Christian, or a Muslim. Both christianity and Islam were radical religions in the past, the difference is Christianity is not practised anymore in Europe, the religion is a sort of Sunday attendance for some people only. Christmas has turned to a shopping holiday rather than a religous one. Basicly, Christianity is fading away unfortunately, it's those who do the cleric duties and sermon in the monastery
