  • this is a possible song...... "who lights the fire............ on an badly planned insulation scheme....... dah dah dah , etc,. The smoke is billowing ....the house is getting hot........i have let them know ....the dangers via email out...... blah , blah blah...... the ending goes.....what do you expect..... • MR SPEEKA MR SPEEKA MR SPEEKA MR SPEEKA

  • pig costello the workers rights are burning with workchoices

  • Getting paid a shitload for life to act like we did at school, for life, sounds pretty cool!

    That dance was hell funny.

  • I love Costello. Quick, funny and not afraid to stick it right to those labor commies

  • what a dick

  • lol at 2:14 if you just listened to the audio you would probably think it was a year 9 classroom on a Friday afternoon not the governing body of a nation.

  • Oh, Costello. Come back and save us.

  • Anthony Albanese FTW!

  • costellos a dope

  • At least when Costello acted up it was usually to make a point not just score one. Even Anthony Albanese could see it for what it was, surely some of the boring chucklefucks here could too.

  • why did the person get tossed out?

  • A-Pac is the best :)

  • @Brohedia this is sky news. a-pac was not created back then

  • ...only in australia

  • Peter Costello's such an loser. nice joke man, must of taken you hours to come up with that one.

  • Who was the guy removed and what did he do?

  • 1:08 - Peter Garrett : " Fag "

Thumbs up if you agree ;-)

  • @jmaer91 Yeah looked like it ai.

  • Let's make this clear on Costello, he might have had some great moments in QT at the Labor Party (such as this one) but he will always be remembered as the man who could never take the prize when it was sitting right in front of him!

On top of that, despite repaying the governments debt (which according to a lot of economists wasn't that difficult), he never did one structural thing for the Australian economy in 11 years as Treasurer. He never was or will be in the same league as Paul Keating

  • @richspur2004 aren't you forgetting gst?

  • @Roadrunnerz45 The GST was a tax reform, not a structural reform and it wasn't even Costello's idea, it was Howard's idea from the 80's. A structural reform changes the way the economy works, like floating the dollar, reducing tariffs, compulsory superannuation, reforming the banking system and deregulating the economy. Sure, he paid off the debt, but Australia could have been left in a much better position had he had some balls and been an economic pragmatist rather than fiscal conservative!

  • OMG - this is absolutely hillarious - brilliant!!! I watch this video to cheer me up. Watch at 2:12 and listen closely, the red head cunt said something off to Hawker's left and everybody looses it!!! Just watch Hawker's eyes ... he's ready to explode... I luv it...

  • The people in charge of $850 billion dollar GDP...*sigh* Then again, they were taking Mr. Speaker to town - he had only just started the job and they were putting him through the mills.

  • im actually embaressed to be "run" by these dickheads

  • lol they are all fuckign high

    fuckign canberra haha

  • The speaker totally doesn't want to be there XD

  • does anybody from Australia remember the 90s comody shows Full Frontal and Fast Foward?

This reminds me of that, at first I thought it was a joke?

  • Parliament is a joke. A friend from the US sat down and watched it and just laughed at us.

  • @naythechocolatehead its embaressing hey

  • God. Parliament is like a classroom full of grade 6 trouble makers.

  • Ha! Garrett called him a "fag"!

  • I'm pretty sure he was saying "fuck!" :D

  • fuck i love question time. its like a year 5 classroom.

    absolutely golden!!

  • @propagandaaaaa unfortunately all this has changed, the shenanigans are highly regulated as a result of labor's bargaining with independants.

  • Comment removed

  • @propagandaaaaa not so much a year 5 classroom more like a year 12 class at a private boys school

  • and as misterious as he came.. he left

  • lmfao

    the speaker

    looks so pissed

  • That is so funny.

Costello was almost as funny as Keating.

  • i think he said "fag"

  • CrimsonCameron: I think he said Fuck

  • hahaha what a cracker. its funny to see our parliament carry on like that. wonder what other countries rekon of us if they see that. awesome!

  • LOL is Garret mouthing FAG?!

  • i think he said FUCK! no joke!!!!

oh man friggin hilarious... feel so sorri for the speaker

  • i agree he said fag!!

  • haha Peter Costello is jelous that Garret is more a celebrity than he is. So the smug bastard picks on him like a fuckin 12 year old bully. haha what a dickhead. ahaha

  • WHAT AN ASSHOLE !!!

  • ACTUALLY, HE'S KIND OF FUNNY.

  • @Padraigan13 Peter Costello was always hilarious.

  • what would he prefer to be remembered as. the guy always second in command, or the guy imitating Garret>?

    lol

  • Peter Costello is the funniest politician since Paul Keating. Interestingly, he's also the greatest treasurer since Paul Keating.

  • can anyone spot the eaxact moment where Peter Costello alienated most of australia?

    somewhere around 45 seconds methinks.

BUT! This is both cringeworthy and the most awesome example of aussie democracy i've seen

    lately

  • i love our system of government, question time rules!

  • omg is that our government.

  • u r right!!!!!

  • remind me of my classroom, take in mind im in year 10.

    bunch of idiots?

  • The speaker is like oh fuck me......

  • they're like little children these leaders of our country. jesus christ, god save us all.

  • trust me, how fucking boring that is, this happens like once a year

  • as to the ETS, if we move ahead of the world and invest in a current scheme for alternative power, then it is likely that there will be a discovery soon that solves the oil crisis and provides free and abundant energy.

but we will have crippled our economy on an earlier and inefficient design.

we have to wait and we have to provide scientists with the resources and incentive they need to solve the problem.

i also am working on ideas.

a cash incentive of $100 million would get a result.

  • he was a dominating and arrogant person because he was running a successful economy.

he had a right to be proud and aloof.

he handed swan the 21 billion that swan is unable to imagine how to use.

idiot to the max is swan .

    and idiots employ idiots.

the dunces around him had no idea.

australians voted the dunce of dunces "milky bar kid" in because they thought he was soft and cute.

i am australian and i am shocked how stupid my race is to love rudd and hate costello.

  • Iamxb70, obviosly you fail to see how much Labor has been managing our economy with a strong emphasis on getting the largest GDP par GDP ever. Along with that said, Costello hardy handed Swan an easy economy. Costello was too busy with spending sprees to of cared what the future was after the election.

  • labor has not made 21 billion in surplus in the six months it has been in. it is a gift from costello. costello could spend because he knew how to earn. swan can not because he is a helpless poverty stricken mentality. swan must preserve the fat that costello left for him, because his times will be lean. fuel watch grocery watch. they are like 2 bob watches. rudd evades questions in question time with astounding gall. he is a glitzy fraud and it will come to bear. watch and see.
  • Obviously your unaware of the Government budget, yes they made 21 Billion in surplus. Costello left the treasury empty after his many election spending promises. Which the Reserve bank had warned them many a time would drive interest rates up. My question to you is, do you know what the Reserve Bank is? Because you seem dumbfounded by real economical management.

  • you may be able to empty your entire mind bag into a mere comment strip, but i can not.

i will not debate with you in less than 500 characters any issue.

rudd says it is a global issue and therefore he is helpless.

he is a "tired of mind" messiah.

our dollar has risen substantially and yet it is not factored into the oil import price?!?!!!

the opposition is hopeless without costello up front.

we can not argue well with so little space.

your name sounds japanese (minus KAM).

  • Empty my mind bag? I used less words than you did...

Actually our dollar is factored into the oil import price. Most other nations are paying substantially a lot more than Australia. In fact, we're only a little more expensive to that of the United States.

And finally to give you an update, Costello is not on the front, Brandon Nelson and Julie Bishop are. So stop your subscription to "iberal Propaganda 'r' us".

  • i did not say costello was on the front.

you are attempting to debate within the space of a thumbnail.

    i have no "loyalties".

i see rudd as a very conceited person that wants to have many photos of himself on the world stage.

he plundered the "sorry" question and the "ratification" question as his first 2 easy accolades.

he adorns himself with self congratulation with no basis.

do not bother replying i guess.

it seems you are "blinkered" like a wayward mule.

  • How exactly did he fail to say sorry and then ratify the Kyoto Protocol? Think before you type, really...

  • you are onfused as to what i meant.

rudd did say sorry. he did ratify kyoto.

rudd wnats to be "loved" and those were the 2 easiest empty grabs he made at the commencement of his tenure.

his apology meant nothing and the ratification was moot.

    his popularity skyrocketed.

it is easy to mindlessly do what previous and thoughtful governments refrained from due to inefficacy.

you do not understand me well and that is an impediment to discussion.

    bye.

  • Firstly, for me to understand you. You need to speak in English with decent/readable grammar. Secondly, Howard could of done those "empty grabs" as you stated, it's not as if they were hard as you say. Inefficiency (The correct spelling) of the Howard government is a testament to the rates and inflation problems we're now having. Look behind those Liberal propaganda emails you're receiving, and perhaps you'll join the Australian community of people who aren't politically retarded.

  • if i make typos that derail you, then you are on a precarious track.

i know how to spell "inefficiency". i did not use that word in my post.

i used the word "inefficacy". look it up.

you are like a chihuahua that will not let go of a pencil, but you still have bitten off more than you can chew.

if it is useless to perform an operation (saying "sorry", or ratifying an "idea"), then to perform that operation must be for the purpose of self aggrandizement.

this post is full. next coming.

  • and further to what you say about the last government being to blame...

it is mainly on the advice of treasury that the reserve bank sets it's recommendations.

swan is a "doom sayer" and his treaury department must support him.

swan has been told by rudd to talk the economy down, so that labor will look like they are battling to rescue us from the last governments failings, rather than the truth.

the truth that they have not the intelligence to take control of the "ship".

  • costello was a "soothe sayer" rather than a "doom sayer". he had confidence in his ability.

his treasury would have advised the reserve that oil prices would negate a need for interest rate rises.

rudd killed the solar industry, and struck a deal for hybrid cars who's batteries last for only 5 years before they must be replaced at a cost of $30,000.

    it is absurd.

there is little cash allocated to research.

  • Firstly, Like I said use common grammar skills for me to be able to understand what points you're trying to show. Secondly, inefficiency was a better word to use due to how you set out your sentence. Thirdly, the Howard government has a lot of repenting to do, hopefully Labor will reform much of the shit they screwed up, to be put bluntly. Finally, Costello was a terrible treasurer. In the first six months of Wayne Swans term, he delivered a surplus larger than 3-4 years of Costellos budgets.

  • common grammar skills is all you have if that is all you can understand.

it is impossible to argue intelligently within this space, but with your intelligence, you see it as possible.

    ne'er the twain do meet.

swan was handed the surplus by costello.

costello said on election night that swan had the biggest inheritance that any incoming treasurer ever had. 21 billion.

that number was said on election night.

just sit back and watch swan unfold into a shapeless mess.

    ran out of space..but..

  • Let me get this straight, you think Costello gave Swan 21billion? My only answer to that is you are a fool and have no idea how the treasury and government budgets work. Let me give you a small history lesson, over the past 6 months, the ALP have been making budget cuts all around the board, the total was 50billion or so. 29 was spent on other election commitments, and the 21 was the surplus. Costello's average budget surplus was 5billion, Swans, so far 21billion. These numbers don't lie.

  • I agree

  • Don't like Costello very much but this is pretty funny

  • Glad they got rid of this speaker. What a borring old fart. The new guy for the lablour would have just let it go and def not kicked garret out. Pretty funny vid though.

  • DICK SUCKER !

  • No, that title goes to you.

  • jafoosy dick sucker !!

  • un-educated comments like this confirm your lack of brain.

  • why you get angry ? why don't you like when I call Costello a DICK SUCKER ?? please tell us ?

  • Because i think he's good, and i think your an idiot.

  • So, why you think he's good?? a good person? a good politician ? a good dancer? In this case he's laughing on a reconciliation song !!! so you think he's good on that ??

  • Costello, unlike Keating, has more arse than class.

  • More class than you obviously.

  • Does the parliament really behave like this?

    thats really disgraceful.

  • democracy ftw.

  • only when costello, keating and tuckey are in parliment

  • only when costello, keating and tuckey are in parliment

  • Costello's an arsehole.

  • You are

  • Its excellent.

  • I notice the guy Costello's insulting here is now on the government front bench. Looks like he's had the last laugh!

  • So lol how it escalates into an argument.

It's a good song by the way :D

  • I felt sorry for Hawker there.

  • Costello is a small man with a very. very small brain. lol

  • omg, i hope other countries dont see this.....

  • I saw this, and I don't understand why the speaker is such a killjoy.

  • hehe, i like this kinda stuff in the parliament but it does make us look like a bit of a joke:P

  • omg, i hope other countries dont see this.....

  • LMFAO !!

Reminds me of my high school days!

  • It's like a big class-room.

  • aussie parliament is a fucking joke..

  • lol we are a frikkin laughin stock

  • What a loser, isnt he forgetting that Peter Garrett is a billion times cooler than he ever will be?

  • it seems here that costello is trying to make a point...... that he himself cannot make a decent point. he attempt to make a cheap shot by using the fact that he is spending sometime with rockstars but peter garrets music with midnight oil had a meaing unfortunetly hes turned to his own belief and statements

  • John Howard lost the election because he didn't sit down with Bono. Maybe if he did he could have got them "lucky charms"!

  • What a miserable sod the Speaker is!

  • Costello, like most Australian politicians, is a small man with small ideas. no surprise here.

  • The fact that Costello talks about other peoples careers is an interesting point. An assumed superiority thing no doubt. That "rock stars" (his words) have nothing important to say.Well bucko who was the loser here? Not only did you lose the election but when finally handed the prize leadership(of the new opposition.Ouch!!) that you craved for years but were denied, you pick up your bat and went home. You were a choker pure and simple !

  • lol even Kim Beazley and some other Labor members were actually saying "sing it!" in 0:46

  • You are gone !!! stupid CLOWN !!

  • Still dancin' Costello?

  • "Could've made Australian Idol!" Now that's funny!

  • The Member for Lingari said "He's not the Australian Idol, that's for sure!"

  • Bahahahaha! This is a winner! Funniest thing ive seen costello do. He should have done more - the whole routine. I wish we could have seen what everyone was laughing about at 2:13

  • Question Time will be boring without Costello

  • i agree

  • don't worry hes not going anywhere

  • tuckey will still be there; lol!

  • lol parliamentary privlidge is a wonderful thing

  • Haha just a bunch of high schoolers lol

  • lol 2:13-30 backs that up

  • This election should just be a dance-off between Garrett and Costello, it would be far more diverting than the vacuous media circus that's being staged at the moment.

  • omg thats a really good idea! hahah. this media circus is actual bullshit though, hopefully the chaser guys are gonna do some more funny shit and making it more interesting!

  • Peter Costello is a legend!

  • Further proof that hese cunts have to be taken out next week.

  • and this is what these cunts are doing instead of running the country properly.

  • I agree. What a GC . Shame, he the our money minder!

  • what a loser man, he does not have a good enough argument so he picks on someone who actually gives a shit.

  • Toni Martin from Get This put that part to the actual music....I almost crashed the car I was laughing so much!

  • They're like fucking CHILDREN. And they run our COUNTRY. No WONDER it's all gone pear-shaped!!

  • Children are more wiser than these GC S

  • like a bunch of bloody teenagers....

but i would never love a government as much as the Liberal Government!!

Costello, even though he would run this country into the ground... geez he cracks me up

  • Keating was far wittier.

  • Costello is hilarious, funniest since Keating. Should be next Prime Minister.

  • good on you...

thank god there are some sane people in Australia

  • The only time I want to see Costello dancing is when someone is shooting at his feet.

  • its just like primary school lol

  • As much as I hate the Libs... Costello cracks me up in Parliament! This is dynamite

  • we are paying these people?

    mmmmm, sad

  • this is the funniest video ever, that i have ever seen. i concure with below 2. even though im a lefty the entertainment would be enough to run this country! the speakers face haha its like a school yard, only funnier...

  • 1:29 "the member of lingiara remove himself!"

then some guy calls out "like in Australian Idol!"

  • love him - costello for PM, if not for any other reason but the entertainment of the nation. Labor is just plain boring. That and he's the next best PM to the king himself, when he hands over the throne.

  • wow... COSTELLO for PM!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha

  • Hawker has got to be the most god-awful speaker the Australian House of Representatives has ever had. Any time Albanese (Manager of Opposition Business) gets on his feet for a point of order, Hawker looks about two seconds from ejecting him from the chamber.

  • Lol, love Costello. Go Libs!

  • It's like a bloody kindergarten. Bunch of children

  • LOL. He cracks me every time!

  • I may vote for Labour, because I agree with them on more issues. But I hope we seee more of Costello or people with a sence of humor in government!

  • haha brilliant, costello u hav my vote

  • haha there would be NO better pm than costello. i cant wait to see him as pm, i hope to god that the lib's win the next election but i do think that for that to happen howard needs to stand down. god i love costello, i think he's grossly misunderstood and just generally a really funny guy, precisely what we need in parliment - a bit of candidness

  • What a piss weak speaker we have

  • I hate it when people complain about our Politicians acting like idiots when these types of video's come up. These people are then the same people who complain that our Politicians are too 'straight' and 'pompous'. Make your minds up.

They are allowed to have a bit of witty fun. Every work place has it's moments. Stop being a sook and let the Pollies have a bit of a laugh, or perhaps watch Parliament Question Time a little bit more to understand how serious it can get.

  • i can't wait to see Costello in opposition. He will suddenly loose his sense of humor.

  • and his smirk

  • ohh, a pity you are so serious. it is good to have a laugh. the labor party did not complain.

  • funny they run this country, and look how they act,

  • my god costello is such a noxious, arrogant CUNT!!

  • couldnt of said it any better

  • David Hawker is a disgrace, the worst speaker the Australian lower house parliament has ever seen

  • I totally agree he shocking, if you watch the video of the Labor speaker in that video of John Howard whinging and screaming so hard (back in 1995) the speaker calmly tried to settle him (John Howard)down, unlike this bloke who would kick a Labor member out straight away for even coming half as close as to what Howard did in 1995. These Liberals are so arrogant

  • Peter is funny!

  • all i see is a lib being an idiot

garrett can hold his head high unlike this dog of a goverment.

  • I can't believe I am paying all those twats wages. What a complete waste of money. It'd be a much more productive session if the speaker fined them $10,000 every time they wasted 2 seconds of taxpayers' money. Absolute wastes of space - the lot of them!

  • Well, back when Garrett wasn't into politics, he was all about making a statement, which might have been why he refused to vote in the elections. It would have made more of an impact then just voting green.

    So in conclusion

    Costello = moron

    Midnight Oil = ownage

  • True. I guess we'll have to wait for his memoirs to hear the answer to that one - until then, I suppose it's largely speculative. All things considered though, it would be difficult to refute the genuine passion he holds for the environment, his country, and his people. His public profile has demonstrated this time and time again. I think that most people recognise this...
