  • oh..i had such a huge crush on penelope whn i ws a kid...i always imagined catching her and tying her and obviously she never escaped in my imaginations...:P

  • Thank God I'm not the only one who watched this show :P I watched it on Boomerang

  • I will protect you from the hooded claw.. Keep the vampires from your door..

  • Hayulp!!!

  • I was frikkin so scared of the Hooded Claw when I was a kid haha

  • The Hooded Claw is one scary Mother Fucker! It's something about an aggressive Villain with glasses that gives me the creeps

  • If Penelope Pitstop was a real life character, Renee Zellweger, Kirsten Dunst, Piper Perabo or Tara Reid should play that character.

  • her running style is hilarious

  • That stupid ho was asking for it, silly bint lol what a great intro, i remember it so well, "Heylp", used to feel quite scared for her when watching this as a young'un, she was asking for it though =o)

  • what does he want with penelope pitstop anyways? is he a rapist or something? lol

  • @Demonsword92 Because she inherited a fortune and should anything happen to her, he gets it.

  • @Demonsword92 No he wasn't rapist. he just wanted her inheritance. You must remember, he was undeniably gay. I mean a flaming homosexual. I say so because the voice is Paul Lynde. That should tell the story right there.

  • Huelp *trot trot trot*

  • never understood how this stupid bitch got into trouble every episode surely she would learnt by the fith episode cheesy but funny love the mob

  • I remember when I was 8 years old , I had pneumonia and they took me to the hospital , layed me on a table and stuck me with shots to put an ivey in my hand. I was layed up in a bed wearing a diaper , so the nurse could change me if I had used the bathroom. I remember watching this on Cartoon Network , and playing Super Mario Bros. down stairs in the playroom. True story.

  • @Retrofanatic10 Well. I'm sure we all appreciate hearing that story. Care to tell us about any other snippets of your life, such as your first enema?

  • @anxresi Dude , I don't care if you don't like my story ,this is real. Pneumonia is not fun , in fact it's deadly. So I don't know you had to be so sarcastic about it.

  • @Retrofanatic10 No really, it's great. It's just what I wanted to hear about when clicking on a Penelope Pitstop video.. someone pissing themselves as a kid while almost dying. I don't have to watch the Lifetime channel, I simply click on the videos for old Hanna Barbera title sequences and I can find all kinds of stories about other people's childhood miseries. Hmm.. says here under Yogi Bear that it reminds of the time he got his right testicle bitten off by a grizzly. AMAZING.

  • This is not the theme song I remember.

  • i used to get a boner when i watched this show

  • @yudhihamzah I know, the Anthill Mob gives me a total female hard-on.

  • HAY-ELP!

  • why couldn't he just bang her and call it a day?

  • @bigddagenius Yes, why doesn't he just put a bullet through her head? Because this is a cartoon, not real life (or perfect crime for that matter). Besides, she always has to escape. It was the same with Batman; when the villains catch the heroes they never shoot them - they rope them into goofy traps that the heroes always escape from.

  • @Goodiesfanful it was a joke guy, calm down.

  • The hooded claw is a pervert will "violar" a penelope. I mexican and no know more english.

  • OMG the hodded Claw's laugh is so funny it cracks me up everytime i hear it

  • WHO DID THE VOICE OF THE HOODED CLAW?

  • @ohioplayrzx9 Paul Lynde, in an uncredited role.

  • That laugh of the Hooded Claw is HILARIOUS!!!

  • How does she run like that? WTF XD

  • Her running animation is awesomely hilarious.

  • And that Kids is what a rapist looks like

  • @MrYoungmoolababy LMAO! Nice one, dood. That did look like the Hooded Claw was stalking and chasing Penelope just to rape her in the dark, huh?

  • that dude was such a creeper, he wouldn't even make a cameo in today's happy-go-lucky cartoons.

  • What happened to the oringinal music?

    Why did they change it?

  • what year was this?

  • "Helyup!"

  • Ah, the classics.

  • I love that this was pretty much a show about someone trying to kill a woman for money.... but done so innocently!

  • Pahaha my little cousin is a toddler.. and when she gets put in the buggy she shouts help! help! she sounds like penelope pitstop ahahah!

  • hooded claw's laugh is fricking awesome

  • penelope pitstop was the first cartoon whore

  • hayyeeelp!

  • Wasn't Penelope a spinoff of Wacky Races or did she come first? Too lazy to look it up.

  • @brnleague99 Wacky Races came in September 1968, and this came on in the same month, a year later.

  • Fair play. Sylvester Sneaky had skills putting that hat, cloak and mask on like that without missing everytime.

  • lol vibrator

  • She...had her own show back then? Wow

  • No, Penelope Pitstop came AFTER The Wacky Races. I do love the Claw's laugh as well, and his nom de costume. But why is he called The Hooded Claw? He has neither a hood nor a claw.

  • @Goodiesfanful My guess is it's meant as a joke.

  • @ilikethecoke Ah, yes, just like the cat in Hong Kong Phooey is called Spot although he has no spots. And the Hooded Claw is a very good name for a villain, even if it doesn't quite match his costume.

  • @Goodiesfanful Great lead in for a Coffee Talk segment: "The Hooded Claw neither had a hood nor a claw, discuss!"

  • ...@ retired4111, the Hooded Claw/Sylvester Sneekly was voiced by Paul Lynde...

  • The Hooded Claw's laugh is brilliant. :-)

  • lol!! i swear they recorded that laugh 20 years ago...

  • How I love it when the Hooded claw laugh every 5min in the cartoon. lol

  • Was the Villain's voice that of Richard Dawson?

  • @retired4111 nope paul lynde voiced the hooded claw who was uncredited for unknown reasons.

  • I was four years old when my uncle died. During his funeral my cousin and I were making Hooded Claw impressions. I was too young to even understand the amount of pain that pervaded that room, but my cousin was eight, old enough to miss his dad a lot. And yet he was laughing with me on his dad's funeral. That's the magic of these old cartoons, man. Actually no, it's just childhood. You're so fucking absorbed into your own little fantasies that they can get you through the most painful things.

  • I feel bad for Penelope, always getting captured, but it's funny at the same time.

  • Its that laugh XD The hooded claws laugh is lolz

  • I wonder why nobody has ever made a full-length, live-action movie of this show yet.

  • i always wondered why hes called the hooded Claw...wheres the claw?

  • Penelope Pitstop is a rich smart girl for hiring The Anthill Mob for protection.

  • Penelope Pitstop was my first crush when I was 6 years old, and she's still got it

  • The Hooded Claw got that smokers laugh!.. Too many cigs !

  • @nthenameof You're right, because Paul Lynde never could kick cigarettes!

  • Comment removed

  • I think this came AFTER wackey races.

  • @tractorboy406 Yes, it did come after Wacky Races because it was one of the first spin-off cartoons. There were actually two spin-offs from Wacky Races, "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop" and "Dastardly, Muttley, and Their Flying Machines"

  • HEYLP HEYLP.

  • i always wished that the hooded claw would die he was sooooooo evil

  • I Love Penelope! Next to dafnie from scooby doo, she's the cutest girl.

  • all women should be treated the way the claw wanted to kill her...the first great serial killer

  • seriously, hooded claw... WHY DON'T YOU BUY A FUCKIN' GUN, MAN?

  • @cyberyanmar IT'S A CARTOON MORON!

  • @cyberyanmar for the same reason Tom dint buy a gun to catch Jerry.

  • omg..! I've kinda missed this girl.. :)

used too watch those shows every chance I got..

  • LOL cannot believe that was Paul Lyndes voice...

  • why is sylvester tries to kill penelope?

  • @spongebob12335 He wants to kill her because she's an heiress, which means she's got a lot of money!! ANd he's jealous!!!

  • "HAYELP!" her voice is annoying.

  • Penelope Pitstop was hot.

If I were a cartoon "I'LL GET YOU PENELOPE PITSTOP" & bang you.

  • fantastic cartoon, the hooded claw rocks

  • Was it really that long ago...? *blink* really...? :((

  • I loved this show as a kid..Raaally I did.

  • OMG I LOVED this show when I was a kid!

  • This show was a spin off of Wacky Races which came out the year before in 1968.Another spin off was Dastardly and Muttley In their Flying Machines,

  • OMG, I remember this cartoon!! Use to be my fav...gosh, this hooded claw was always conspiring to murder her but loved how his plans used to be foiled all the time!! :P

  • That laugh!

  • Paul Lynde rules.

  • Now I see where Lucas got his idea for Darth Sidious in the Phantom Menace. =P

  • @KiCreativeStudios Also, Sylvester Sneekly being the Hooded Claw is like Anakin Skywalker (Luke's father) being Darth Vader.

  • ahahahah :D

  • In listening to the music from the Penelope Pitstop pilot, it seems clear that this theme music was originally only used for the pilot, with an alternate mix of the closing ultimately serving as the opening theme. Unfortunately, the pilot opening is used for every episode on the complete DVD collection, when they should've used the reworked version, which is far more impressive. This was actually a spin-off of Wacky Races, which also gave us the Dastardly/Muttley spin-off.

  • @laustcawz is the re-worked version on youtube?? I wonder if I would remember it. I used to watch it after school in the late 70's, and If I was really lucky, I could see Paul Lynde on Holly wood squares or the Donnie and Marie show.

  • The Hooded Claw ROCKS!!!!

  • THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS VIDEO IS THAT NEW MUSIC. SOMEONE NEEDS TO FIND THE INTRO WITH THE ORIGINAL MUSIC AND THAT WOULD MAKE IT COMPLETE

  • "HEYULP! HEYULP!"

  • The members of the Anthill Mob are Clyde, Yak Yak, Dum Dum, Softie, Snoozy, Pockets, and Zippy.

  • taylor swift is slated to play penelope in the live action remake

  • @pecosRoy i really wish you werent joking

  • That's the wrong opening song. The correct one can bed found on the episode, Hair Raising Harness Race.

  • Comedy actor Paul Lynde, best known for his appearances on "The Hollywood Squares" (1965) was uncredited as the voice of Sylvester Sneekly/The Hooded Claw

why he was uncredited--everyone knew ,it was his voice--

  • He was also the voice of Templeton from Charlotte's Web.

  • WOW.

I've never seen someone actually do the splits whilst running. Penelope is everything I want to be.

  • Clyde: Quick Youse Guys, We must find a Way to bring the Hooded Claw and the Bully Brothers to Justice!!

  • Penelope PitStop and the Anthill Mob.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Sydney White and the Seven Dorks

    See a pattern here?

  • A couple of familiar voices there -

The Hooded Claw - Paul Lynde

Narrator - Gary Owens (I think).

  • That's right. Gary Owens is the Narrator.

  • @lawofficers yea-was wondering where i heard that--the guy from laugh-in,he was in one episode of mchalesnavy

  • Why is he called the Hooded Claw when he doesn't posses either claw nor hood?

  • @fattoler

My guess would be it's to make him sound more villainous. He's probably called "Hooded" because he wears a mask.

  • They really need to make a movie out of this cartoon

....well eventually they will, so I might as well say it

  • This show is actually well after wackey races

  • The Anthill Mob are like the Seven Ghetto Dwarves.

  • I cracked up everytime I heard Yak Yak's laugh

  • i remembered this cartoon!

  • oh that laugh...HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • For some reason, Penelope reminds me of Princess Peach because she's kidnapped too many times. Who agrees?

  • Huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh! Luv the late, great Paul Lynde chuckle.

  • Chakaboooom !!!

  • "Wacky Races" aired on CBS from 1968-69.

"The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop" aired the next season,1969-70 on CBS.

    Just an FYI.

  • Hayyelllpp!

  • I enjoyed this show as a kid, mainly due to Paul Lynde's excellent, "over the top" vocalization of Sylvester Sneakly/The Hooded Claw. Though I always felt Peter Perfect ( also from "Wacky Races") would have made the better, and more comical, inept hero type to save Penelope from her perils. There always seemed to be some attraction (underlying sexual tension?) between the two of them in the previous series anyway!

    Just a thought.

  • Good point, Actionguy1, about Peter Perfect. You could have had him doi all the work, but the Ant Hill Mob got the credit for saving her. Might have worked.

Also thought that the Army Surplus Special would have made for a pretty good spinoff show as well. They could have been do-gooding crimefighters going from one town to another battling bad guys. The intro could have been: "Adventures of the Army Surplus Special," with Sergeant Blast yelling "CHARGE!"

  • @jfab64 Thank you! Excellent thought!

[adult swim] could turn the "Adventures of the Army Surplus Special" into terrorist fighters!

I can just hear Seargent blast yelling at the terrorists, "I'll get you! You Godless sumbitches!"

    Then, "CHARGE!"

    LOL!

  • heylp heylp

  • look at her trot at 0:12!!!

  • it's like she's doing the splits!

  • In response to this video description, the Perils of Penelope Pitstop came in after the Wacky Races finished. Dick Dastardly & Muttley got their own short-lived spinoff from the Wacky Races as well.

  • The Hooded Claw sounds like Penelope's favorite toy from the porn shop

  • Paul was the best part of thiis show.

  • that guy must really hate her... cuz he had her string up above alligators. She must of gave him the clap.

  • Sylvester Sneakly, The Hooded Claw is always after her fortune, and by doing so, he's always got to come up with a plan to kill her. Foiling that fiends foul plots are her ever-present protectorss: The Anthill Mob.

  • Hy-alp!!!!

  • Who wouldn't?

  • I would do her.....

  • That's creepy.

  • I was gutted when this stop showing, always looked forward to watch this at dinner times and after school!

    Think Penelope Pitstop is ace!

  • I´ll GET U PENELOPE PITSTOP classic

  • I'll get you, Penelope Pitstop!!

  • i always wondered why the hooded claw always wanted to kill little ol ponelope

  • I love Penelope Pitstop!

  • Paul Lynde used the same spooky laugh for the Hooded Claw that he used for Uncle Arthur in Bewitched.

  • This was pretty scary to watch when you were a young girl.....

  • the hooded claw never could killed penelope every where she was he was there

  • Some years back, there were rumours of a live-action movie version of this, with Reese Witherspoon as Penelope Pitstop and Brent 'Data' Spiner as the Hooded Claw!

  • I would totally watch that!

    "HEEEAAAAALP! HEAAAAALP!"

  • 0:58

  • I always wondered why he called himself "The Hooded Claw" when he didn't wear a hood, or carry claws? LOL :) I loved this old toon!

  • Dr. Claw didn't have a claw.

  • I'll bet he wasn't even a real doctor, either! LOL :)

  • He did in the live-action movie series.

  • Nor a hood.

  • I remember this cartoon!

    This brings back memories!

    Good times!

  • I remember this cartoon and enjoyed it because Paul Lynde voiced the hooded Claw...but I remeber another song for the intro which as a lot better....

  • i just posted the REAL intro last week. type in madog20

  • This is a spin off of The Wacky Races

originally Dick Dastardly and Muttley were going to be the villains but they didn't get good ratings.

They got their own show instead

  • Why does'nt she just phone the Police instead of relying on those 7 dwarfs LOOOOOOL

  • He loved tying her up, didn't he??

  • @englishguy2005 he was into bondage

  • Comment removed

  • That Paul Lynde laugh cracks me up everytime I hear this!!

  • I remember laughing everytime l saw her running.

  • I loved his laugh! Sounded like he'd smoked about 40 fags a day!

    'Hay-ulp!'

    No love, it's 'HELP.'
