The Secret actually fuels depression, if you think about it. There is no risk outside the borders of one's mind. With the law of attraction, reality is controlled with one's thoughts (which is bullshit). This gives seriously depressed and troubled people a reason to lock themselves into their own worlds...and so far, millions of troubled people have bought actually bought into this. This book doesn't help you become happy, but rather helps you sews a rigid smile onto your face.

What does she mean by "I couldn't believe how nobody knew this"? It was all over the place way before she 'decided to make money with it', she just made it way public. People just needed to see it on Oprah to make it something plausible. Nobody hid it from us or anything like that. She's full of it. Some people simply weren't aware of it because they weren't ready to hear it, as Hicks says.

there is no much thing as matter. she references einstein but he was the one that made this discovery. all matter is energy condensed to a slow vibration. so when people spend their lives obtaining these possessions, in a way, theyre really gaining nothing lol. its kinda funny when you think of it like that! you cant take any of it with you when you go so whats the point.?

there is nothing wrong with wanting or having material things, but when we value them too highly to the point where we only care about them and not everything else important in this world like friends, family, experiences, God etc. then we have become consumed by materialism. there's nothing wrong with us for having and enjoying material goods as long as we don't overemphasize their importance. after all, we need physical things such as food , water and shelter to survive

Well, that is what the movie said too, its the same energy or power only some called it God, others energy, others Allah, it is about this. ONly difference again is that the Bible is full of rules of what to do in order to stay connected with God, because this connection exist only if you r pure. but most of the time anything to do with the secular life is sin, so people restrain from normal things in everyday life to experience that connection and get a bit detached from the rest of the world

This scam author , plagaarized this book, from an old book, she read, and she now has been enableing people like David Schirmer, who held "The Secret" seminars and took all these peoples money to invest because he said this fake lie WORKS! And reassured everyone he would give them 1000 percent back. SURPRISE!! they got back NOTHING!! Oprah can afford to pay it all back. No one would have went to these flim flam seminars without Oprahs show, promoting it! Now show those ruined people the SECRET!!

The Secret was around well before Oprah. It appears that Schirmer was a swindler, at least that's what the YouTube interviews show. It's a damn shame that he was in the film. If in fact it's true, then he needs to be sued for restitution.

I would say that The Secret is all about cause and effect. Any instructions there may be "from God" are strictly man's interpretation of the Divine and thus subjective and flawed. Many religions teach to follow certain rules and many are truly only for the purpose of control, especially control over women, as can easily be observed throughout the world. One thing which can be known is that God is love.
