Next time try bareback with a helmet just incase. He didnt like that you were sat on his kidneys and the fact that you were nervous would be making him nervous. Horses can almost read your mind! Dont be put off though these animals are amazing to ride!!
Since this was ur first ride it was good to wear a saddle but when you ride double like that you should ride Bareback. And since it was your first ride you should've gotten on a calmer horse. Plus a helmet wouldve been smart. And you cluck for a walk, you kiss for a lope. Or thats the way me and everyone I know's horses are trained.
That's an interesting training way. Not bashing you at all, just curious. When you cluck for a walk, would you just cluck again for a trot? I'm in the process of training a horse and what she understands best is short cluck=walk, two clucks with nudge=trot, and long cluck=canter. Any info would be helpful!

If you look closely, the animal placed its legs beneath itself and with a surge forward he was in a lope. Its feet never left the ground any higher than an inch. That is called engaging the hind quarters, if not prepared for it, which does in a way feel like a buck, one could fall.
lol... I think most riders have had that happen before... Double is fun though, bucking or not.. The important thing to remember is that when just ridding around (no jumps/barrels/speed) the majority of falls have no injury's, just laughs and great memories.. Remembering that will keep the fear away, and the enjoyment in..
double isn't bad if your both bareback then your not as far back on their horses but.. the girl that got on was in the horses bucking area.. i personally never tryed double don't think i want to

one time we did it double bareback with just a halter and lead rope on a green broke belgian draft horse. we ended up in a mud puddle! it was fun! lol!
lol tried a similar thing wif ma friend bareback, but our outcome was i fell off into a hedge and ma friend stayed on but was at the pther side of the field in lightening time.

lol tried a similar thing wif ma friend bareback, but our outcome was i fell off into a hedge and ma friend stayed on but was at the pther side of the field in lightening time.
