u must read this once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight & haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy
I feel you, man. Made the switch to AT a few years ago. Tele gear isn't for backcountry anymore. It's for dudes who want to look cool under the lift but can't bring themselves to snowboard. Tele gear is too heavy now. Not like when a pair of leather boots, 3-pins, 200 cm Tua's and skins weighed 8 pounds total. You can't find a pair of tele boots that weigh less than that now. And the bindings!! Why bother? Just get a Dynafit setup and go skiing.
For one thing, the telemark technique in this video is terrible. The uphill leg is not suppose to go down like that. The knee should not hardly bend at all. Only let it slide a couple inches past the rear of your other boot. And don't start the switch til after you've started the turn and are approaching the fall line.
@hezhiwen The technique here isn't so much terrible as dated. Modern tele gear (stiffer boots, more robust bindings, and more alpine-style skis) has enabled a huge reduction in the amount of knee flexion required to stabilize the ski when it's being pressured at the end of the turn. Still, lots of telemarkers make the mistake of "going too deep." Looks like these guys might appreciate some new gear, or tele lessons, or both.

It's harder than golf.... but I've yet to throw my clubs. Telemark is way easier than it was at the beginning.
