@TheCZDude Why do u want to install FreeDos and Windows 7? hmmm just install freeDos on one partition and then install windows 7 on another. And lastly use Linux on the 3rd partition and there you have it :)... Unless you don't have a bootable windows 7 dvd :|

I would put in the basic package, then add the network stuff later (wattcp, packet drivers, etc.). It is so much easier and quicker to get what you need afterward. With internet programs, I have found that getting a machine IP from the ISPs DHCP is all you need and then do the rest of your arachne, doslynx, etc. configs manually is much easier - strange as that may sound. People get hung up about packet drivers, but it really isn't that hard. One of those things that is easy when you know how .
@adnane512 You can download what is known as a gparted live cd... And format the partition where FreeDos is at and then merge it back into what ever os u are using.....
@Time123123 yes flopies are the bomb and slow, and inside that square box there is a disk that didn't make it to become a cd :(.... All Floppies ever wanted to was be a cd and they stuck inside a box. :( soo sad.
Yeah this is great. See I use <<back|track 3 and I have problems installing. I nearly messed up my HDD with my important files. so look, Install FreeDOS and goto the boot/Dos in the Backtrack Distro then start BT3.BAT and there. Make sure you have the files on computer that makes it run faster since ur not using the live iso like i do. Man this runs a lot faster when you use FreeDos and run BT3 while it's on the computer not the disk. 5 Stars Excellent!
But if you want to run FreeDOS when you're currently running Windows or Linux, you need install a virtualization software. For Windows, you can install VMware Server or Microsoft Virtual PC, they're all free to use.
You need buy a Windows installation CD, and insert it to you CDROM driver, then reboot your computer, enter the BIOS setup utility, choose CDROM as the first boot device, and save it then reboot your computer again. The windows installation will start automatically and you need interact with a little installation procedure dialog, the your windows is alive. ^_^
It *should* work, but I'm not sure, you can visit the homepage of FreeDOS for information. There's a FAQ on it's website, but I can't post the link, it seems youtube does not allow post a hyper-link.

yeah can u dual boot Free dos with windows and linux???
Skajter1901 3 years ago
yes, we can do it.
First, partition your disk into 3 partitions with 'fdisk' utility. one for FreeDOS, one for Windows, one for Linux.
Second, install FreeDOS first to partition 1 with FAT32 format file system.
Second, install Windows to partition 2 with NTFS or FAT32 format file system.
Last, install Linux to partition 3, when the installtion ask you where GRUB should be installed, make sure NOT choose the 'MBR'.

Then use a linux RescueCD or LiveCD to boot your system, issue a command like this
'dd if=/dev/hda3 of=linux.boot bs=512 count=1', here /dev/hda3 should changed to the linux partition which '/boot' mounted.
Copy this linux.boot file to your windows partition, edit the boot.ini file of windows, add a line like at the end of file as the following:
'D:\linux.boot=Your-Linux-OS-Name'
Now you boot FreeDOS, Windows, Linux each other.

That's sad, because real people do it on REAL computers, not stupid virtual PCs... I actualy use a hardware screen capture device for my videos!
