Dina was a high ranking socialite. It explains the fact that she could wear this outfit...a very, very risque outfit at this time. A beautiful lady, indeed, but this outfit is ahead of it's time!
I have always been amazed at how beautiful, talented, classy and rich she was. It's hard to believe that she was the heir to the Postum cereal (C.W. Post) family who also owned Birdseye, and General foods companies. (Glen Close's paternal grandfather was Dina's mom's second husband.)
To Renatrip 1, you hit the nail on the head, great comment, on of the reason I don't have TV, with the crappy stuff on TV nowadays why to bother. No thanks.

WML is simply remarkable. Even with a guest possessing genuinely limited talent and personality, the regulars keep it interesting throughout. Thanks very much.
Can you believe she is the daughter of heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post (of the Post Cereal fortune) and E.F Hutton (yes, THE E.F. Hutton)? Classy..and breathtaking
Yes - Now roll the "tape" forward & just look at our current "heiress" Miss Paris Hilton...? Do I need even ask...Is there any comparison ? What you see when you watch these remarkable old clips--- is the highest form of social elegance as demonstrated toward one another ...I venture if David letteerman was hosting this WML now - he would be unable to sustain the formal level of dignity that we see as displayed by Mr. Daly ...thank you Norbert
I am in total agreement with you...Paris could never rise to her level..and no..David Letterman could never compete with the grace of John Daly..good posting..
@rentatrip1 And then there's Casey Johnson, the Johnson and Johnson heiress who partied herself to death and apparently had a difficult time finding a purpose to her life with all that money. Ms. Merrill mentioned "Butterfield 8"--one of the worst movies ever to win a major academy award. Mr. Daly and Ms. Merrill both show a lot of class and dignity, but then I guess you can't expect adults to act the same way they did 50 years ago.
my point exactly, shall we seat Chaerlie Sheen on the Panel ? Along with Letterman as "host" / referee can you suggest 2 other panelists for the modern WML..?
One of the TRUE beauties of Hollywood. Stunning!

My parents named me after her. When I tell people that, they have no idea who she is. Which is amazing because she has been in a bunch of movies.

She was eventually married to a Hollywood actor, though his name escapes me at the moment.

Always liked this lady...never a big movie star, but simply reeked of class. Somewhat Grace Kelly-esque, but warmer and more engaging. Thanks.

Oh yes -- Dina in her early luscious period. The work of Ms Merrill, though, was primary television, so no wonder the panel got lost.
