I have a fear of failure all the time, but all I have to do is consider what will happen if I don't even try, and that vision of the future is usually a lot worse than the one where I try and fail.
Besides, most failures don't result in unrecoverable life-and-death situations, sometimes there's nothing to lose but a little pride and there's experience to be gained. In those cases, there's nothing to fear, is there?
This video had really, really much impact on me. Your thoughts really broadened the way I view the things I love to do. I just can't express how thankful I am in English as it's not my native language, but you thought me how to learn and I am really, really grateful for that. Thank you so much.
Thanks for your honesty & for sharing some of your personal struggle. Your last 2 series have been very thought provoking and grounding. I have definitely done the spinning my wheels for years either ignorant of or being afraid of "turning on the light" as you would say. Followed by years being so hyper critical of my work that I loose the inspiration to draw. I'm seeking that balance where I'm pushing myself and enjoying what I'm doing. Thanks for offering a perspective on how to do that.
I am not planning on making a living with visual art, but I do love to draw. Music means much more to me. And even so, what you spoke about applies to me as well.
There are countless problems and people I'll have to deal with on my way towards becoming a career musician, but my resolve must not falter. I dread the alternative.
Become a better and stronger person.
Focus, curiosity and practice - a healthy amount of these three into any pot.
Ok this is just down right scary to me right now. You just said what i tought about and prepared my self for. I am not saying that what you are saying is obviouse... but hell, i anticipated what you were going to say threw part 3-5.
Thank you for these videos, they are a good reminder.
I just hope that some poeple dont get offended by some of the truth's you said in part 3-4. You know, about some poeple just arent fit. Mabe took away the morale but gave it back with part 5 ;)
Interesting. I don't see college as a smart choice right now because of the poor economy and lack of jobs. I see things getting much worse over the next 5 years. Everything is noticeably slowing down. There is a college debt bubble that is ready to pop as well as a bond bubble...many bubbles. All of Europe is ready to go any time when the Euro fails. I was wondering if you were going to mention that.
I am studying every day your exercices after my work (2d/3d animation), this is my third month now and I improved my line quality and my sense since I started.
May I ask a question?
I have always been wondering about this.
Is it good to be scared?
Is it good to fear that you may not succed?

@sr2202 Being scared's better than being bored!
