It fits perfectly with the music, you can't define a particular song to a particular 'theme'; if it's done in the right way a lot of things will fit with a particular piece of music. The song is not necessarily "relating to genocides" either- in the Metal Gear Solid games (particularly no.4) it's actually used to reflect lonliness, isolation, struggle, and a sort of hopelessness, most of which Snake's own due to the deeply troubled life he has suffered. Have you actually played MGS?

I'll point out that in the original MGS, as the song played at the credits, footage of wildlife and scenery in Alaska was playing. translation: "the best is yet to come" = no matter what we do to each other, life is going to go on, just maybe not for us.

thats a fair comment mate. but i think just because the song is in hebrew doesnt men it can only be used to show genocide and war. I used this song in the video because i thought the contrast of what Metal Gear Solid is about and what Snake wants to acheive is whats shown in this video. I dont know if you have played the games but THIS theme was used int the credits of the first game and showed peace and nature. and shows how much better of this planet will be without humans.

Absolutely correct and right mate. This is an Irish translation of what I believe was originally a Japanese tune and sang by Donegal singer/composer Aoife Ni Fhearraigh. When I played MGS all those years ago I couldn't believe all the people who were mis-attributing this to the Aleutians as a traditional Inuit song, could you get more Gaelic.......and eh less Hebrew?

You are correct about the language. I did not think that the singer(s) was/were Italian. I used the exact words I did because I was quoting a line from the character Red in the 1994 film, "The Shawshank Redemption," and I felt that the line was particularly apt to describe this song. I agree, it was awesome. One of the benefits of exposing one's self to great art is the ability to match pieces of them together, such as great song with great prose or, as this author did, great video.
