my god that not only brings me back, but the richness of the message...its complimented by the richness of the melody in that tune. the piano with the harmony of the singing. times have changed, haven't they...sigh.
Have you noticed that NO networks (ABC included) have any sort of nutritional PSAs EVER? ABC used to be so good about this sort of thing. Now it's all about selling CRAP and hardly anyone cares about eating right or all those good things.
It's sad. I remember this, Schoolhouse Rock and Time for Timer well.
Dude, I'm 35 and I still sing this song all the time. I haven't heard it since I was probably 7 or 8 years old. I guess that says something about the power of a jingle on a young impressionable mind.
@eyeheartchrist It's great you had these. I know VCRs were expensive when they first started. And back then most of us just copied to watch later and erase. People weren't really thinking about saving things to watch regularly or save for years later back then. So many of these things aired so often back then you thought they'd be on TV forever.
Yep, this came out in the 70's, but they ran until sometime in the mid 80's. I remember well. I'm 34 and still grab a peanut butter on toast as a quick snack from time to time. Awesome to see and hear this again.

The voice at the end of the PSA sounds like Stormer from Jem.

So great to revisit this. One of my buds was lamenting the fall of the Saturday morning cartoon, so I had to send him this!

Hm, if only my toaster finished in 3 seconds like the one in this PSA. Are they seriously saying this whole process should take less than one minute?

I dont think I could bring myself to eat things that have arms, legs, smiling faces, and running around my kitchen smiling and waving at me.
