  • Jis! That is awesome. Would love to have one of those. I read about it in a book "Modern Small Arms" by Major Frederick Myatt M.C. And I being an Enfield nutt wanted to know more straight away.

How are the ballistics? I assume you load the ammo yourself? Or do you get sub sonic factory ammo for it?

  • this was definitely on list of guns to get.

I have to thank MOH for bringing them to my attention, tho. ;)

The sad thing is that in the game most servers would ban the gun. I dunno why, in that game, the silenced part of it the didn't really help you at all, lol.

  • pop..... pop....

  • this should be in call of duty

  • @jmantime I found out about it in MoH.

  • sounds like an air rifle... it's pretty nuts for a 45

  • Was that a "shit" at the end? It always sucks to get toasted by hot brass.

  • @tyrantable i think he said "thats it" maybe

  • yep it's a original you see cheap copies of these that the silencer is completely useless but that's a maxim on that thing hehe

  • @masterofnotmuch There was a company that reproduced them and they offered both silenced and non-silenced versions for states that banned silencers or people who didn't want to pay the extra money.

  • J.H.C.

The action is louder that the goddamn shot

  • So are you actually going to fire that thing or-- oh wait.

    ... that's awesome.

  • Inconsiderate people shooting their unsilenced rifles, geez, some people!

  • @SupaUploadah I went to York Guns, showed him my firearm certificate with a slot for a .45 bolt action rifle, paid him a grand and walked out with gun :)

  • Do you know where somebody could find one for sale in the U.S.

My uncle's a direct descendent and he really wants to find one

  • @nickeftink As far as I know there is only 1 privately owned genuine Delisle in the US. Valkyrie Arms in Washington make an authentically styled reproduction though.

  • @vlherg

Oh I was hoping for an original

  • No One Lives Forever! :D

  • Like a mouse breaking wind.

  • I seriously think this can be a much better of a sharpshooter's equipment, the sound is ridiculous, it is like a handgun suppressed to be the MOST minimal sound ever. I mean fix it up with stronger body parts, edge up the cartridge, and put a scope on it lmao. probably would be the smoothest shooting carbine ever.

  • What have you got this on your FAC as?

  • PEW-CHAA!

    best gun sound ever.

  • holy shisah....its silent silent...like not red jacket *fake kinda quiet silent* but REALLY SILENT. lolz

  • thumbs up if you were wondering what the louder gun was

  • Wow, the bolt is much, much louder than the actual firing. That's impressive.

  • I want a deli SO bad, I envy you sir. Top job!

  • 1 of 129 according to Wikipedia. shit!

  • Is this the original Delisle? Or is it a re-make (like a Valkyire Arms-made Delisle)?

I ask b/c I've heard other so-called Delisle being fired, and this one is sounds much more silent than others I've heard.

  • its accurate up to 250m? whats the moa on this thing? i want to build a bullpup version

  • "That pistol" being the Welrod.

    Check it out on wikipedia.

Apparently you can't post real links on youtube.

  • That pistol was designed on the same principles.... although I have seen some very very quiet 1911s, and that platform was certainly available at the time. Maybe there aspects of suppressor design with which I am unfamiliar that have enabled this in the modern era, when it would have been impracticable then.

  • how much did that cost you. those things are incredibly rare.

  • My BB gun is louder.

  • Too bad you have to cock it after each shot. If it was semi-automatic, that thing would be brutal.

  • @anastu Using a bolt-action was the simplest and possibly most reliable way to have a totally silent gun.

A simple blowback action -- as found in most of the submachineguns of the era -- often allows still-expanding gas to vent out the ejection port as the bullet is just leaving the barrel. This makes it impossible to quiet the gun completely, even using a suppressor coupled with subsonic ammunition.

In contrast, something with a locked bolt, like the short-recoil system used in most modern...

  • ...semiautomatic pistols, or a simple bolt action, keeps the chamber sealed for until after the bullet has left the barrel, and all the expanding gas has also vented out the barrel.

While it is not impossible to use a locking bolt in an automatic (there is a video of a full-auto 1911 which operates quite quickly floating around here on youtube), it is less commonly seen, likely due to the mechanical complexity coupled with the stress of continuous rapid cycling necessitating higher quality...

  • manufacture than the alternative (a simpler blowback or delayed-blowback system).

The roller-delayed blowback system used by H&K also retards chamber unlock sufficiently to enable very silent firearms -- see the HK MP5SD5 -- but this system was only introduced (by the Germans) at the tail-end of the war, and it really wasn't perfected until after the war (1946 or thereabouts).

  • Awsome clever clever way to use up rifles and no need for subsonic ammo .45 is they were mostly.45acpp right? And built on the lightning fast Lee Enfield action.I want 12

  • I realize that you must get this a lot, so I apologize, but may I ask where you got this from? And how much (if you care to reveal)?

  • Wow! Now that is a fun gun to own and shoot.

  • The reason he is saying "shit" at the end is that when he ejects the last cartridge case, it tumbles right down his sleeve. if you've ever had a hot one one go down your shirt collar or sleeve, "shit" is usually the first thing that comes out of your mouth!

Watch it again closely and you'll see what i mean.

  • what is he saying "SHIT" about at the end?

  • @zev007

Actually I said "that's it" meaning that I had finished firing. Add in the way we speak here in NW England and it might sound like "sit"

  • @vlherg If I hadn't read that, I would've assumed you were cursing because some hot brass landed on you.

  • @vlherg

I thought you got a hot empty casing down your collar (I would have said fuck )

  • @vlherg hahaha lol and you Englishmen understand one another just like that? Because it sound like you said SHIT to me.

  • @vlherg No, he definitely got brass up his sleeve.

  • @JoshuaTerrell

    I can assure you, I didn't.

  • @vlherg how do you have this in england?

  • @zev007 Because he ejected the hot brass onto his hand.

  • @zev007 I seriously think he said shit.

  • Reloading this actually makes more noise than firing it. ^^

  • While the De Lisle carbine is rare, it should be mentioned that these things were made to order into the 1980s, for obvious reasons. A testament of it's fine design that this WWII specialty weapon would still be a popular tool 40 years later.

  • thong...click-clack....thong..... that's REAAALLLLYYY quiet! are those subsonic as well?

  • Amazing, all you can hear is the click off the hammer stricking :D

  • Is it ex ordnance or newly made?

  • Are you using subsonic ammo in this video? That is hands down the quietest rifle video I have ever seen.

  • @smyers820gm the .45 is naturally subsonic.

  • @smyers820gm

It is chambered to fire .45 ACP.

    Quieter than a mouse.

  • Is that thing real? If it is...do you have any idea what it's worth? You are a millionaire. Clean it from this firing session and sell it. You have a million dollars in your hands.

  • @Newbie0

I bought one last month for £1300

  • How the FUCK did you get this? It is fuckin' rare as hell!

  • Am I right that because the suppressor is integral you can just get this on a .45 rifle slot with no need to state good reason for it being suppressed?

  • @An0nEeMouse

    That's correct.

  • @vlherg PLEASE tell me, im looking for a replica delisle, from valkarye arms, it is an exact replica, and is it a No 4 lee enfield action? I hope cause i want to put a scope on it.

  • Looks like the real deal with the Browning 1911 mag.Awesome!

  • Ha and some people say that suppressed guns r still load.

  • @shaolinadr loud

  • @shaolinadr well suppressed guns are very loud. a suppressed M-16 is loud enough to deafen you, the sonic sound of the bullet is 120 dec. but this gun is silent its ammo is a low velocity and the silencer takes up the whole barrel. this makes it silent and not just suppressed

  • @savage495 yer I know. but some people think that you cant make a gun quite. eg like the 1 in this vid

  • @Shinimegami86 There are at least two different companies that sell reproductions in America that I know of. It all really depends on the state.

  • Shit!

  • Nice Video mate.

That is a nice bit of kit :)

  • holy shit, I did not know it was that quiet. I am playing Hidden and Dangerous 2 and it has that gun in it, so I searched you tube, never would of figured it was literally that quiet. .45 is quiet the hole maker as well.

  • LOL it looks like a blunderbuss but sounds like a BB gun

  • Amazing!!

I would love to have one of those! Probably very expensive though.

What amazes me is that the sliencer is so great that all you can hear is the bolt clicking :D.

  • @BOT101st 2000$ for the Rifle without Scope and everything.

  • Well in £ for me thats about £1275! Still a lot of money!

  • The action is louder than the rifle shot... AWESOME!

  • I'm afraid that's ridiculously awesome

  • that is crazy silent

  • Hey! The silent carbine in NOLF 1 must be based on this weapon! It looks like it, too!

  • It is. All of the weapons in that game were based off of real ones.

  • Oh my good thats reaaaally silence

  • that weapon iz soooooo silent.. propz 2 the dezyner

  • Is that a gun shot which sound "Tic"? It's really amaging. As i know on, the British began on making them at 2nd WW, is that right?

Undercover agent, cryptanalysis, special Warfare, secret information, hooligan...

    Awful "gentleman".

  • Working the bolt is louder than actually firing the weapon.

  • Even snail makes bigger noise.

  • People spit louder than that gun fires.

  • thats a very cool gun. it made the reliable but inaccurate .45 very accurate.

  • amazing! it's like flicking a soda can!

thanks for this slice of history! remember, us Yanks support you Limeys' right to firearms, stay strong!

  • Wonderful rifles. Good to see another video, especially one that shows how loud they are, on YouTube.

  • That's pretty cool. What caliber is it?

  • .45 ACP. The DeLisle has got to be the absolute quietest long gun I have ever seen.

  • Awesome. I bet it's a pleasure to shoot. It sounds like a .22 short!

  • In an open area where you're the one firing, there's almost no difference in sound between live firing and pulling the trigger on an empty chamber.

  • Very cool. Is the suppressor integral, or removable? Does it have to be replaced after so many rounds?

  • The suppressor's integral. It can be opened up and disassembled to a degree for cleaning and so on but so far I haven't felt the need to try. It's still as quiet today as it was 4 years ago.

  • is there a 357 version

  • there was only 129 ever made and all of them were in .45 apc because that is a subsonic round which makes it veryeasy to silence

  • @manypersons Very true. A real one would be in a museum and worth whatever someone was willing to pay for it if the conservator ever offered to sell it (highly unlikely). The vast majority of the stockpile was destroyed after WWII. It appears that it was used a tad in the Malaysian insurgency.

  • Nope, only .45 ACP, because this rounds are more effective in quiet shooting than powerful .357 ammo

  • .45 apc has a velocity of about 985fps and that is sub sonic so there for the is no sonic boom and only the gases from the explosion need to be contained

  • yeah

  • The suppressor is integral...and takes up more than half the rifle. Pretty impress piece, mate.

  • it would sweeter if they had a unsuppressed version

  • Why? I think that being able to spit out a .45 and make less noise than a man coughing is pretty damn impressive.

  • Why? It would just be an M1911 with a stock, longer range, and bigger magazine. In fact, it would be LESS useful than a carbine version of the Enfield rifle, and the same size.

  • @chitoryu12

Ever heard of clandestine operations? With an effective range of 250m and the report of a cat fart, it's plenty useful.

  • @morisato54

    oh my god thats hilarious

  • they should make a 357 version

  • I dunno, a .357 has a higher chamber pressure than a .45 ACP I think, which would make it harder to suppress it.

  • .45 ACP is subsonic so makes silencing it alot easier.

  • There is a 44mag version !
