Jis! That is awesome. Would love to have one of those. I read about it in a book "Modern Small Arms" by Major Frederick Myatt M.C. And I being an Enfield nutt wanted to know more straight away.
How are the ballistics? I assume you load the ammo yourself? Or do you get sub sonic factory ammo for it?
I have to thank MOH for bringing them to my attention, tho. ;)
The sad thing is that in the game most servers would ban the gun. I dunno why, in that game, the silenced part of it the didn't really help you at all, lol.
@masterofnotmuch There was a company that reproduced them and they offered both silenced and non-silenced versions for states that banned silencers or people who didn't want to pay the extra money.
@SupaUploadah I went to York Guns, showed him my firearm certificate with a slot for a .45 bolt action rifle, paid him a grand and walked out with gun :)
@nickeftink As far as I know there is only 1 privately owned genuine Delisle in the US. Valkyrie Arms in Washington make an authentically styled reproduction though.
I seriously think this can be a much better of a sharpshooter's equipment, the sound is ridiculous, it is like a handgun suppressed to be the MOST minimal sound ever. I mean fix it up with stronger body parts, edge up the cartridge, and put a scope on it lmao. probably would be the smoothest shooting carbine ever.
That pistol was designed on the same principles.... although I have seen some very very quiet 1911s, and that platform was certainly available at the time. Maybe there aspects of suppressor design with which I am unfamiliar that have enabled this in the modern era, when it would have been impracticable then.
@anastu Using a bolt-action was the simplest and possibly most reliable way to have a totally silent gun.
A simple blowback action -- as found in most of the submachineguns of the era -- often allows still-expanding gas to vent out the ejection port as the bullet is just leaving the barrel. This makes it impossible to quiet the gun completely, even using a suppressor coupled with subsonic ammunition.
In contrast, something with a locked bolt, like the short-recoil system used in most modern...
...semiautomatic pistols, or a simple bolt action, keeps the chamber sealed for until after the bullet has left the barrel, and all the expanding gas has also vented out the barrel.
While it is not impossible to use a locking bolt in an automatic (there is a video of a full-auto 1911 which operates quite quickly floating around here on youtube), it is less commonly seen, likely due to the mechanical complexity coupled with the stress of continuous rapid cycling necessitating higher quality...
manufacture than the alternative (a simpler blowback or delayed-blowback system).
The roller-delayed blowback system used by H&K also retards chamber unlock sufficiently to enable very silent firearms -- see the HK MP5SD5 -- but this system was only introduced (by the Germans) at the tail-end of the war, and it really wasn't perfected until after the war (1946 or thereabouts).
Awsome clever clever way to use up rifles and no need for subsonic ammo .45 is they were mostly.45acpp right? And built on the lightning fast Lee Enfield action.I want 12
The reason he is saying "shit" at the end is that when he ejects the last cartridge case, it tumbles right down his sleeve. if you've ever had a hot one one go down your shirt collar or sleeve, "shit" is usually the first thing that comes out of your mouth!

While the De Lisle carbine is rare, it should be mentioned that these things were made to order into the 1980s, for obvious reasons. A testament of it's fine design that this WWII specialty weapon would still be a popular tool 40 years later.
Is that thing real? If it is...do you have any idea what it's worth? You are a millionaire. Clean it from this firing session and sell it. You have a million dollars in your hands.
Am I right that because the suppressor is integral you can just get this on a .45 rifle slot with no need to state good reason for it being suppressed?
@vlherg PLEASE tell me, im looking for a replica delisle, from valkarye arms, it is an exact replica, and is it a No 4 lee enfield action? I hope cause i want to put a scope on it.
@shaolinadr well suppressed guns are very loud. a suppressed M-16 is loud enough to deafen you, the sonic sound of the bullet is 120 dec. but this gun is silent its ammo is a low velocity and the silencer takes up the whole barrel. this makes it silent and not just suppressed
holy shit, I did not know it was that quiet. I am playing Hidden and Dangerous 2 and it has that gun in it, so I searched you tube, never would of figured it was literally that quiet. .45 is quiet the hole maker as well.
The suppressor's integral. It can be opened up and disassembled to a degree for cleaning and so on but so far I haven't felt the need to try. It's still as quiet today as it was 4 years ago.

In an open area where you're the one firing, there's almost no difference in sound between live firing and pulling the trigger on an empty chamber.

Shooter12point7 3 years ago

is there a 357 version
jmantime 2 years ago
there was only 129 ever made and all of them were in .45 apc because that is a subsonic round which makes it veryeasy to silence
manypersons 2 years ago
@manypersons Very true. A real one would be in a museum and worth whatever someone was willing to pay for it if the conservator ever offered to sell it (highly unlikely). The vast majority of the stockpile was destroyed after WWII. It appears that it was used a tad in the Malaysian insurgency.
