  • Great playing - congrats!. I can't imagine what you can do if you trend to use more a 4 fingers teknic.

  • 2:25 Why does he use two different fingers for one note ?

  • @EyeWarrior0545 cuz hes got style

  • damn kid. I started playing when I was your age. I'm 42 now. I also played along with Hendrix songs when I first started. I also liked (and still do) Roy Buchanan. He's the reason I play Telecasters. Check him out! Pete's Blues is a good one to start with I'm Evil is another. very good job my brother!

  • awesome job man loved it.

  • Sounds great on that telecaser

  • its not "to heavey distortion, hendrix played it every time different...and sometimes even with that much distortion ,i found the cover totally ok ,i saw MANY bad red house cover ,u need a GOOD timing to play such a blues and of course feeling (:

    greetz from germany

  • Your bro is amazing!

  • best part of this song is the intro..........such a bluesy bitch haha

  • thanks dude tons of help!

  • well done !!!

  • REALLY nice tone from the Telecaster. Kinda of old school, just superb. Don't worry about the pedal controls too much, use the controls on the guitar & play what you feel. Nice job.

  • Well done!!!

  • Nicely done!

  • you play brilliant !!!! wow !

  • i like my schecter c-1 hellraiser fr (limited edition DSG- 50 made in US). its great for metal, but also has an amazing clean tone. with a little reverb and the coil tap on the neck pickup, it sounds as good as this.

  • You definably got it going on...Coultertube

  • A bit to fast vibrato for my liking, but everything else was insane!

  • Yeh, I get what you mean, the licks are great, but the technique is a little sloppy. Great player though, I'd never do it better and it sounds nice for a telecaster.

  • holy crap, you're freak'n awesome

  • damn i hate this so much, tone it down your making me jealous!!

  • shit now that kid has like 18 years and probably he kicks asses on guitar..time burns fast

  • I want a Tele so bad :) My Razorback doesn't have that bluesy feeling to it :(

  • @comeontrytopkme ya but it's a razorback though :)

  • \m/

  • lol 'i'm 15 and i can't play it, it's really hard

    congratulation you have sick skills.

  • ive got the same tele sounds the exact same... awesome... what amp you playing through?

  • damn good show lad!

    I liked it.

The thing i like best about your playing was that you didn't seem at all worried to play it the way you wanted. You didn't just play the notes, you felt em.

And thats what i see lacking in alot of players these days. Its not enough to just play what Jimi played, you gotta feel the music to understand it. let the music play you.

  • awesome cover

  • 3 years..? wow, that 's sick

  • nice job, I am trying to learn this song now

  • Nice kid. On point!

  • Best cover of red house !!!!

But a litlle bit hard to believe you can play this good after only 3 years playing. You have talent!!

    greetz

  • Was this learned by tabs or ear? Either way nice playing. If it was learned by ear you should go back and have a listen to what just the guitar is doing. 5 *'s

  • Tab

  • some very odd bass notes thrown in there, but overall very good especially at your age. keep up the good work.

  • for a 13 year old that is dam impressive!you will be seriously good by the time your 18.

  • awesome guitar 5*****

  • fucken A bud!!,,,ill be damned,,nice job.

  • Little buddy.... your good. your bending skills are super.also your tone is proper for that song. keep on rockin!

  • ok and you have to put a little mor feeling in it

  • yeazz soo cool

  • HOLY SHIT

  • Very Nice - (those Pods certainly help - no dis)

  • ooo salio perfecto wn

  • five stars from CoulterTube

  • Rocking it no doubt!!!!!!! Coultertube

  • What you guys are talking about the Telecaster ?? Purple Haze solo ws recorded with a telecaster

  • nooo never

  • So what he's using a tele, sounds better than than a lot of the strat versions on YouTube.

  • the only thing wrong with this video is that, he is using a telecaster!!!!!

nonono, jimi with a tele, he alwaysed used strato.

  • Im pretty sure jimi recorded some parts of some songs with a tele. Very rare though. He always used a strat? I dont think so. Most of the time he did but look at some videos... hes using all sorts of stuff, sg's, flying v's, and even a les paul.

  • Hendrix was just like any other guitarist in the way that he had and played and recorded with many guitars. His Zemaitis (sp?) 12 string acoustic he used on "Hear my train A'Comin" was a Gem. The strat he burned at Monterrey was given to Frank Zappa. His Son dweezil has it today. He used a white 3 Humbucker Les Paul Special (before they changed the name to SG, cause LP got pissed) often too. id kill someone for one of those guitars.

  • I thought his monterey strat was burned then smashed to bits by him, i heard that dweezil zappa has another hendrix strat he burnt in miami in like 68, thats probably the one your thinking of.

  • Ya I saw him perform with this on one of his first live performances, back in the early 60's I believe?

  • no, he also played an sg custom, gibson v, tele and a les paul

  • he also played a fender jaguar and jazzmaster. i havn't ever heard of him playing a tele. and the SG was a gift given to him. he only used it rarely (like once or twice on stage). And again he barley even used his Les Paul. It was just a gift. So really he only played Strats and Flying V's professionally.

  • nice,well done

  • WOW amazing talent A++++

  • Wow, you even used your thumb like the late great god of blues himself.

  • First of all AWESOME. Did you ever think of making a lesson for any of the songs you play, exspecially this one. I would love it if you did. Or if you did one for Bold as Love or Hey Joe.

  • Just why do you people copy hendrix note by note? people should put their touch into the songs, not try to copy somebody, it sounds terrible, nobody can sound like jimi

  • Jimi's solos sound good, and he spends more time matching the feel and emotion to the theme of the song than when he improvises on stage. Plus, if you learn the original solo it makes it easier to improvise when your jamming. Thats what I do.

  • Well why dont you try to put your feel into the song? It evolves your style, if you improvise like Jimi did, u will jsut sound like another wannabe Hendrix

  • When you improvise you do put your feel into the song. Besides, you wont sound like a wannabe Hendrix if you're just jamming by yourself or with a few buddies. Why does this bother you so much? Why cant people play his amazing music? What's your issue?

  • @corosian this is a poor approach. learn the musical ideas as exactly as possible before improvising. If you simply improvise and never learn to replicate the ideas precisely, you will be lacking in both technical skill as well as musical vocabulary. if you listen to early recordings of a lot of great guitarists in their earliest development, you will find their covers of other songs are very true to the originals. It is only safe to branch out once you have actually mastered the original ideas

  • @TheMrAlwaysRight Yes, i agree with you, nobody pulls his own licks out of the pocket without learning from someone. But why would you leanr an entire song, note for note, and especially Hendrix, hes not the type of whom you should learn licks note for note. His ideas where somehow chaotic, not a guy you should learn from, unlike BB, Albert K. and so on

  • @Scalpelex it is not until that you internalize the sounds that the artist intended that you truly understand how the music functions.his ideas aren't really "chaotic", that's just the impression you get because theorganization is complex and difficult to hear; but they are definitely organized. by learning the ideas exactly as you can it is like inputting data into your brain, your mind will organize it into new vocabulary that will appear in your improvisation, w/o conscious effort.

  • @Scalpelex lets say you decide not to learn the ideas precisely, and just "improvise" what feels natural over this song.what happens now his your mind lacksthe necessary data to create complex ideas, so you will continue the habit of creating mediocremusic. the mind forms habits. to break those habits it requires conscious focus on the details.Thinkwhen you learn to speak, first you imitate, then you improvise once you have developed a large enough vocabulary. Improv is good, but only absorbing info

  • @Scalpelex so im not saying adding originality is bad, but the ideas need to come intuitively, since the conscious mind can only deal with so much information at once, the ideas need to just flow naturally from your unconscious. If you're at an early stage in learning, like a young 13yr old guitarist, its better you continue to imitate until you have a larger vocab. witth speech it seems more natural because most kids develop their vocab at a very young age

  • does anyone else notice that this cover is almost EXACTLY note for note? I like that cuz u can't find other people covering songs, let alone a tough one like this one, note for note and I think that this is pretty cool.

  • When you play anything by hendrix, playing the right notes is only half the battle. The rest is matching the feel and emotion of the song. He uses his emotion to achieve his timing and rhythm. When you look at Jimi's music on paper, it doesnt look much more difficult than alot of other music. But, when even the most experienced guitarist tries to play it, its a pain to get it to sound right. This kid got it to sound right. Kudos to him.

  • what effects thing was he using that it showed at 3:00

  • line 6 pod, probly 2.0 like mine... if you go to americanmusical(dot)com you can probly find it... just search line 6 pod 2.0

  • sweet cover

  • i think this is the greatest cover ive found on youtube so far.. I got the Jimi Hendrix A step by step breakdown of his guitar styles and techniques book by Andy Aledort and in that book it is a tab for Red House does enyone know a better tab for this song.. or the tab like this kid use?:P cus this is great

  • Nice. Check out my YouTube Channel. I'm greatly influenced by the likes of Prince, Hendrix, Musiq, Aerosmith, Michael Jackson, and Chris Brown 2 name a few. Check out the titles "Prince & Musiq All In One" and "Chris Brown Influenced Song". It's a mixture of R&B, rock, funk, jazz, and hip-hop 2 name a few. CHECK IT OUT and let me know what U think.

  • the difference about adult and a child are the experiences & the mind that makes an adult more soulful than a child, kids think different than adults, different minds not so mature so when he grows up he will be better

  • Its pretty good, but you need to play it with a little bit more soul;)

  • why is everyone consumed with age there always looking for the youngest guitar player it shouldn't be about age it should be about skill.

  • true even my grandfather can play better than me he has played like 60 years now and he's 83 and he still beats me i only play for like 7 years

  • maybe people think, oh well if this can play as good as hendrix(not saying this kid can) and he is 13, who knows what he will be able to do when he is older.

good cover by the way =]

  • yea but how old was hendrix when he died? what ever it was he wasn't as good as he was when he was13 then in his 20's. i think people need to stop talking about child prodogys its a matter of skill in the physical and mental.

  • he was 27.

  • awesome I can almost play it like that

  • Great Job. I've been playing over 20 yrs , and still can't do Redhouse as good as that .

  • cmon man it was good playing but you just played it just like hendrix how boring spice it up and make it your own or i can just listen to the record

  • Absolutely amazing!! The next Hendrix!!

  • Dude u ROCK

  • nice

  • awesome job man

  • good job, you got talent. go hendrix

  • Kid is that you again. Boy you just keep gettin better buy the minute don't you. Keep Rock on little dude. Haz

  • impressive!

  • Anyone who has anything slightly off to say about this kid is not too well..He did a great job..!

  • It's a simple song to play, but sound's great. You just need timing.

    Good job, i give 4.5 outa 5.

  • hendrix on a Tele? what has this world come to?

  • ass opposed to what a strat? its chill man calm down

  • Hahaha

  • great job what tuning are you in?

  • i think he is a half step down. standard jimi tuning.

  • nice,really nice

  • Keep it up ! at your age to be playing this is just sick.

  • he has the music playing behind it. makes him sound better on the first part of

    the solo!

  • You have the notes down man, but you really dont have that great of feel, sorry to say, you look very robotic, and the vibrato looks very unatural for you, especially for playing for 3 years. Alright, let the barrage of thumbs downs begin, or maybe thumbs up?

  • thumbs up his vibrato is awkward but hs still played great

  • everyone's amazed by young players.they could have been palyin for 4 years by the time they were 10.He's ok for 3 years.

  • everyone's amazed by young players.they could have been palyin for 4 years by the time they were 10.He's ok for 3 years.

  • hes obviously not 13 he has a mustache. but good playin

  • ive been shaving since i was 10 .. that doesnt mean anything

  • Damn

  • thats pretty good, real good

  • hes not 13

  • Sounds good man. Keep it up.

  • VERY IMPRESSIVE!!

  • Wow.... I've been playing for about Fifteen years, and can't play Red House that good. Impressive

  • good playin lad, need to hire a better camera man hehe

  • Sounds to me like you're doing a good job of critiqueing yourself. Never stop studying and never be an asshole. Your discipline is something most people will never have. I give you an A

  • See, you realize something most don't, you understand how to play the song how it goes. A person would be naive if they thought they could "improve" on Jimi's version. If aliens wanted to know what "Blues" is, show em RED HOUSE thats all they need to know.

  • OH HELL YES!! nice job....

  • i love to see young people playing the old classics-nice!

  • good but you need a strat man!

  • his sound is freakin amazing, and hes plays well too

  • dude this kids tearing it up

  • Dude ignore all these guys if your feeling it damn the key and make beautiful fucking music and let it come from the soul bro!! Don't worry about following the original so much do your thing and keep thrashing!!!

  • Dude!

    It's Awesome!

    Very good job :D

  • good job man ! i'm 17 and i can't still play this song :)

  • You're a trooper! I made my fingers bleed learning this one. Try adding the classic Hendrix F#m7 chord (9th fret. It's not a barre chord - 3 fingers make a triangle like a D7) in there and you'll be spot on. What an awesome job you did on the leads though. Keep on rockin'!

  • you`re a killer,I would`like to speak ,before you`ll be a MILLIONAR ,GO ON LIKE THIS,MERRY CHRISTMAS,LONG LIFE for whatyou`ve sent,CONGRETULATIONS,ONCE Again.

  • It's really good. You put me to shame. I do agree with some of the other comments that it seems a bit out of tune, but that's easily fixable. Otherwise, great job.

On a side note, you may want to learn how to use your pinky a bit more. I noticed you making some fairly large stretches, one one thing I've learned is that the lazier you can be while playing clean, the better.

  • That's very good, but I would like to see you PLAY the song not just the note for note transciption.

  • you should learn how to play House Burning Down By Hendrix - awesome song, you'd do great.

  • Led you need to hone your ear. Although there are a few mistakes this guy has found almost all the chops to this masterpiece. Im impressed. Great job.
