We have the same taste in knifes and colors, I would have done the same thing and re-wrapped handle in black. I have actually started making my own hand made combat knifes out of old files and new files. I deep fire the files in a fire pit to make the metal even stronger and harder I will have a video soon of some of them, I just copy the blade designs from STRIDERS & K-Bar type knifes when grinding down my blade designs to finished product, use fine grinder to polish and samuri wrap handles
I've owned STRIDERS, and have one of their very first knifes I purchased in 1997 at a gun show. There cool knifes, very tuff, but I feel their way over priced! #1.they don't have full pommel guards #2 The very first sheaths these guys put out with these knifes were cheap and cheesy. That tells me quality was not important to begin with and only developed as a concept as these knifes continued to hit the market. I made a real leather custom sheath and put a pommel guard on mine. I'm ex-military
I bought the Strider Fixed Blade "Sniper" knife and I gotta say... disappointed. 350.00$ 300.00$ to much. Sure it's tough. But overseas I found it couldn't even cut open a MRE. As the point-man on most patrols, I had to use my tools to pave the way. This was horrible and had to be retired for the standard bayonet. A much cheaper knife, unfortunately, will do the job much better than the strider fixed I have.
Hey, I finally put up a small clip of my WB MOD 10 on Youtube. I haven't gotten the chance to use it enough to make a full review but my first impression of the knife was just "wow". Thanks for your help again.
How do you like the knife with the hand guards on both sides? I'm debating between picking up a WB mod 10 or VB. Your video is helping me a lot, thank you.
@deParisDan I like it. I'm not that concerned about perfect ergonomics on a knife like this. It's a big hunk of steel that does a great job for almost any task that fits a blade that size.
Great blade amigo. I got a VB, Id love to have a WB or a mod 10 GG.... Crusader Forge makes some great blades as well, similar design concept. Thanks for the review

@durtywop08 Thank you for the great perspective. Was it the tanto blade style that was the problem?

@durtywop08 dude i could make you one for like 50 bucks out of a file and it would last just as long

@deParisDan You're welcome man.. sorry I just saw this.

Does the hand guard on both sides of the tang bother you? Can you still manage to grip the knife well for cutting?
deParisDan 1 year ago
@deParisDan I think you get excellent purchase on the grip, You can easily choke up pretty far on it if you need to do detail work.

@noBuzzkillin Thanks for the help, I went and ordered the WB Mod 10. I appreciate the video and responses.
