There never wouldve been a female soldier in this time and the Eastern Roman Empire's soldiers didnt wear that armor. that armor is more like armor used by Islamic warriors from 900-1300 when they fought as heavy cavalry. The Parthians did use heavy armored cavalry as early as the battle of Carrhae when 1000 "cataphracts", heavy cavalry, smashed Marcus Crassus and killed 25,000 Romans soldiers during Crassus' invasion of Parthian Mesopotamia. The Byzantines wore traditional Roman Armor
Rome made the barbarians all kinds of promises for rewards for their military help, which the Goths provided, but in the end Rome was to greedy. they tried to give the Goths crappy farm land, exploited them by selling them moldy meat and bread when they were starving in winters for huge prices, making them sell their children into slavery for much needed cash etc. Eventually the Goths said screw this and just decided to cut out the middle man, Rome, since they were the real military power anyway
The Goths were a Germanic tribe, and before Germany the lived on the steppes near the Black Sea in the south, and to north all the way to Baltic Russia and Estonia and into Scandinavia. The center of their homeland was the Volga. Many barbarians had been pushed into modern Poland and Germany by tribes from further east in the steppes of Russia. From there they invaded Roman lands along the Danube and Dneiper river frontiers.
@msfpmm guys - they were gothd, the nation coming from the north scandinavia. They were meantime living in Poland, ukraine, balkans, france, germany... in the movie they look and speak like scots, 'cause in movies like that always 'barbarians' look and speak like that...
Love the obvious horse switch when she gallops off. Starts on a bay horse with white markings, ends up on a black horse for the rest of the chase/fight scene.
After watching this then watch the BBC documentary Rise and Fall of an Empire and The Fall of Rome - Critical Moments. Lots of real history on Youtube.
@TheForwardGaze All of the roman soldiers are very fit, and she is not even a third of them, so it was quite obvious in the first scene where the guards appeared.

@Keranofkri :She's indian, mate.
The postboxes are pakistani.
Huge difference.
One is Secular,multiracial & multilingual while the other's an islamic,military dictatorship dealing with the taliban.
kashmiripunditadkaul 1 month ago
@kashmiripunditadkaul Same thing at the time. The Gupta empire probably ruled much of modern day Pakistan then.
