well that will change as you get more training under your belt you will be more confident in your safety. remember not to be overly confident though, freak things do happen and our job is inheretantly dangerous, and you always have to be on your toes. my uncle was a fireman on 9/11...he ran into the south tower and when they were told to evacuate he and his best friend heard screams from an office, so they went to check it out. an elderly lady in a wheelchair was stuck under debris and could not move, so my uncle and his bud hoisted her up and carried her down 86 flights of stairs. my uncle instructed the other man to get her to safety, while he turned around and went back up. that is when the tower collapsed. i thank god for fireman, RIP 343
