All UseNet is these days is the start of piracy. The "scene" groups post them to UseNet, someone makes a torrent of them, they get downloaded, then it's put on P2P applications like LimeWire. Ah, the fun of it all.

Though, I have got some good bootlegs off the 'Net before. :)
