  • 2:28 zangief?

  • what song is this

  • @boatsonheads2 Tom Jones - "Burning Hell"

  • 0:56 isnt that franco columbo?

  • Man, wish that i could' ve been born on those days. Cause i could be a legend :X

  • @fitzmorris Greg Valentino wasn't taking anabolic steroids goober, he was injecting Synthol a type of oil directly into his arms. Thats what made them look stupid. And he got hit in the arm with a baseball bat, that coupled with poor hygiene and terrible injection practices is what caused the infection that did the most damage. Get your facts straight.

  • Who's the badass deadlifting with shades on at 0:34

  • This Song PWNS!

  • thats just plain awesome

  • NICE SOUND :D

  • @oliireeves Check out Joe bonamassa burning hell , I love his version!

  • bruno sammartino bench pressed nearly 600 pounds over 54 years ago, steroid free.he bench pressed 330 pounds for 38 reps without pause and as raw as you can get, that was amazing NATURAL strenght.

  • We hear about Lou Ferrigno, and Arnold, but why dont we hear about Franco Columbo nowadays? Franco was my main man.

  • @EDtheIslander politics. you should know that when money gets involved in anything things are gonna get screwed up. sad but true.

  • @ButteryAssAbel Yup if that's the case I couldnt agree more with you.when money or the love for money gets involved, things have a tendency to get screwed up.

  • @ButteryAssAbel If tha's the case I couldnt agree more with you.

  • Ronnie is symmetrical. Symmetrically bloated.

  • Franco Columbu is a fuckin monster

  • Love this music!

  • thank god for the mute button

  • i bet when the bar bends you feel hard as fuck

  • who it is in 2;30?

  • @jaca2061

    I think that's Roger Estep.

  • The only reason we lift more nowadays is cause of steroids, special equipment, revised motions, and stronger generations, but they got strong from solid work

  • the amount of effort put in by todays powerlifters that juice up is more effort and sacrifice then you can possibly imagine.

  • lets get one thing clear. you don't just load a syringe with d-bol and test, pin yourself, then explode into the hulk. you pin yourself, go the gym, train like a goddamn monster past the point of where you thought you couldn't take it anymore, go home, eat like a 2 ton animal, then do it all over again. if you think roids are some magic elixir thats going to make you instantly huge then you are either delusional or retarded.

  • @AIveoIus Holy shit couldn't of said it better brother thank you.

  • @AIveoIus thats what i did? seemed to work fine. Gained more by not working out thenanything i ever did natty

  • @AIveoIus ? i'm sick of people defending steroids! yes they help, they help in a huge way! if they didn't why take them? and if you have watched the documentary "the man whose arms exploded" you will know a lot more about steroids, one guy in the program explains how it felt taking them, using them and then what happened after coming off them. ok your not going to turn into the hulk over night but growth whilst using them is like 3-4 times faster.

  • @fitzmorris Yeah but some people just aren't happy with the size they can reach without steroids. Besides Valentino was mostly using Synthol which makes people look like shit anyway

  • @AIveoIus

roids are certainly not a magic elixir that make you ripped. However, they do give you the ability to go beyond the point than what is possible for the average human. Where a natural bodybuilder would have 17-18 inch arms at their peak, a steroid user could go ever further and take it up to 21+ inches if he wanted.

  • @AIveoIus Well Said...Sir!!.....and that is why I have not opened that door because I cannot fully commit to being this selfish.....I have a Job and a Family......but I am not here to start a D**K measuring contest...I can Dead 585 no belt just straps.......Bench 405....Squat 500.....but I look Like Sh!t.......Nasty Bag O' Donuts......

  • @AIveoIus someone who sits on their ass taking a 600 mg/week of test vs someone working their ass off in the gym and eating flawless without testosterone is going to build more muscle mass.

that being said, the 3rd person who does both is going to get hueg.

  • @AIveoIus U know nothing about roids...))

  • @stavros1983 And you do?

  • I like how someone sees a big guy and just assumes they "juiced like there's no tomorrow" to get that way.

  • song name is:

    Tom Jones - Burning Hell

  • Franco Columbo's a bodybuilder not really a Powerlifter?

  • @NTWJohnPershing He was a powerlifter before he was a bodybuilder and at one stage bench pressed 525. Pretty damn strong considering he was just a little fella.

  • @anyone4t agree machines take all the work away from vital stabilizing muscles, doing free weights with good frorm has proved to be the best ally in soccer and track

  • Okay one more video and THEN ill get off youtube and go do the dishes before mom gets home...

    *3 hours later*

    okay one more video...

  • watching videos of old school bodybuilding and powerlifting has made me completely change my whole workout. i no longer use belts or straps, i no longer use any kind of weight simulation machine, from now on, its me and my metal, and iv actually never been happier! already seen a difference in my forearms and my muscles just look that extra bit fuller during the pump, reccommend everyone take a similar approach!

  • @anyone4t there are some useful machines like the leg press (when you know why you do it, not for ego lifting and feel like you re the shit) or some machines like that, but the best workout comes from free weights... im 17, never use belts or anything and i aint injouring myself, cause i workout correctly for what i need and want, and stupid "connosieurs" aint changing my mind! some people need to understand what they do, behind the hype and fears and why they do it! ;) keep up the iron pumping

  • @alejandrothefader yeah, i totally agree, the leg press and the lat pulldown are two very useful machines, there are many others too, e.g, the leg extension and the leg curls machines, i still use many of these machines quite often, but i use free weights whenever i can. free weights with concentration like you said ;) just today in fact, was doing some incline dumbell presses and wasnt concentrating and nearly said goodbye to my front teeth! concentration is everything!

  • all comes down to genetics..you either have it or you don't..

  • @megaflex48 quite wrong my friend! to become the best, yeah, it needs good genetics, but its possible for everyone to get decent at least at powerlifting with the proper training, supps, drugs and mostly diet and sleep

  • for all the retards out there who want to know what can be achieved without roids

    Bill Pearl

    Reg Park

    John Grimek

    John Davis

    George Hakenschmidt

P.s the majority in this video trained well before roids were used.

P.s 2 for all those haters who think you can only get big with roids try actually lifting some heavy shit instead of hating over your keyboards. The rest of us will squat and deadlift our balls off and look and feel fantastic.

  • @AllAboutTheOak Bill Pearl was even vegetarian....

  • 0:18 Bill Pearl absolute legend! wish more people knew of him.

  • old school is cool

    pure strenght

  • Most are fueled by Roids

  • Franco is awesome

  • every man in the world should aspire to be like franco columbo

  • squat suits and bench shirts added years to my power lifting life. which means years of enjoyment. lifting raw isn't necessarily better for you once you got some mileage on you

  • 0:31 that's crazy

  • these guys must've snapped some shit up

  • fuck yea

  • people whine about how powerlifting has become all no ROM and suits and wraps and become "Pussy" or whatever and crying about how it was so much better back then, while completely ignoring the fact that unequipped powerlifting still exists.

  • @thegreathistorian7 We have the IPF.

  • who is that 0:50 looking like a massive mark walburg

  • @KingMobelsa that is mark wahlberg, he was a bodybuilder back in the day

  • @KingMobelsa That's Mr. Franco Columbo.

  • @VictorRechnageL that guy was a beast! huge fuckin bat wing

  • @VictorRechnageL The strongest bodybuilder in his time.

  • look up doug young (at 00:44 on this post) on other youtube sites and watch him win the world title in australia with 3 cracked ribs. dude had 16 inch forearms.small waist.good attitude.he died a few years ago but is still held in awe.

  • powerlifting for life!

  • Franco did move a car ..See mr o 75.

  • 1:55 Polak na 6stym miejscu :)

  • these guys were mutants. lots of respects.

  • steroids are illegal, thats what happened people, there are still people out there doing it all natural but its a lot harder to do, thats all....

  • Gosh whats happened to solid powerlifters. Now its just big fat guys who wear bench shirts and braces and grips everywhere that they think itll help, they do limited movement reps and juice up. Every one of those guys in this video do it by way of chalk and hand and by sweat and blood, present day needs more powerlifters like that

  • @DunkinDog57 i see what your saying but also think the weight they lifted back then was nothing compared to the weight people lift nowadays!

  • @DunkinDog57 mehh for the most part i disagree ur saying this from the nostalgia feel of(everything was better before) rather then from truth. the only guys that fit that description are the benchers, everyone else is quite awesome deadlifters squaters and all the strongman competitors also they all work hard and really man u think just cus someone is old school they dident use steroids? respect for old powerlifters and respect for the new if u disagree get your head out of ur ass

  • @DunkinDog57 Still tho i see like 4 or 5 ppl in this vid who juiced like there was no tomorrow.. But i understand your point :)

  • @DunkinDog57 lol at not realizeing how much drugs these lifters used too

  • @12anpanin lol to actually using lol

  • @DunkinDog57 Yeh I agree but in today's powerlifting everyone is looking for a slight edge they can gain whether that is from using grips, shirts or limited ROM. It's just so they can lift heavier than ever before.

  • @DunkinDog57 True that and its same with the music too, they need some serious changes to be made in music business too.

  • @DunkinDog57 You realize they all juiced right?

  • @DunkinDog57 lol if you think lifters didn't juice back in the day

  • some of these lifters were at their peak before steroids were available, such as Paul Anderson. No, not all of them juiced.

  • @ericthecast The Nobel prize in chemistry in 1939 was for the production of synthetic testosterone and the creation of anabolic steroids. By the 40's anabolic steroid use was pretty common place. I seriously still don't see why all the hate for juice and the mindset that anyone who uses it is a "cheater"

  • @ericthecast Franco won Mr. Universe before he even know what a steroid was.

  • @DunkinDog57 You've got it so right. All the juice in the world will not replace the hard work needed to surpass in any of the iron sports.

  • Is that Bill Pearl bending nails?

  • Franco Columbu THE be(a)st!!!!

  • is that franco at 0.53 ??? cuz ive never seen that pic of him deadlifting, it looks like him.

  • @tom88cba and at 1:03

  • @thegreathistorian7 ya gotta remember the level of education today has us ranked behind north korea andthe south pole in academics.

  • 0:58 240kg bench press:O

  • oh man powerlifting and o.weightlifting aren't popular anymore.Nowaydays it's all sissy beach body boys who do bicep curls all day.

  • @fatmanontherun Oh man tell me about it which is why i usually stay at home, bought my own olympic bench set with 2 dumbells and have been makin all kinds of gains, with an ez curl bar for my bad carpal tunnel syndrome issues

  • Love how all these guys be using barehands to lift!

  • @fatmanontherun Amen u said it

  • @fatmanontherun ur so fuckin right i was about to say bout the same thing!!

  • @fatmanontherun In a squat rack too!!!!

  • @fatmanontherun maybe because it isn't fun anymore nowadays? all those pussies taking roids the last couple of decades, no one knows what real strength is anymore.

  • @awhoergek erghh be quiet you're probably some jealous fat fuck, there is no such thing as fake stregnth. besides loads of powerlifters have been on steroids.

  • @MRTOM927 first of all: take it easy. second: you make no sense

  • @awhoergek what do you mean i make no sense? do you even go to the gym? how could you say 'fake stregnth' what does fake stregnth even mean? i hate to go through the same bullshit everyday where some noob blames a bodybuilders stregnth and size on steroids thus making it 'fake' never heard such bs. how can you say no one knows what real strength means? what does it mean then? and who are you to say that?

  • @MRTOM927 My main point is: When you're a dedicated natural bodybuilder or powerlifter/strength training, it's difficult to try to figure out what realistic goals are nowadays. Even natural body building competitions are full of off-season steroid abusers. It's nice for the individuals who like out of proportion muscles and a little sack, but it blurs the view of natural hard-working athletes. When one accomplishes a certain level of strength in an artificial manner I call it fake.

  • @awhoergek off season steroid abusers? are you aware that steroids dont just leave the body? it takes the body years to get back to producing its own T and HGH etc. and yes if someone cycled steroids for a few weeks then came off it, it would be unnoticeable but your talking about BB's and power lifters who if were/are on steroids would have been cycling it for at LEAST 3 years. just stick to trying to improving weight and reps at the gym and see how far you can get, dont need to compare.

  • old school is the best :):)

  • I wish they would bring the clean and press back for fun.

  • The good ol boys. What happened? These days the bar moves 3 inchies and they call it a squat and a bench press.

  • @puppiesNicecream Hey, im 14 and I still do style workouts ! :)

  • all natural

  • @phil12367 no

  • 0:26 wow... his legs are insanely long... Who is that?

  • @nikolatesla08 - People who still do not go to the gym are Bitches.

  • 1:33 Torkel ravndal

  • disgusting song and video

  • 1:07 BJ Penn.

  • i recognized almost all the people. when i was a teen i subscribed to Strength and Health(before Muscluar Devolepment existed). the good old days before muscle magazines existed for the main purpose of promoting the supplement industry.

the old Iron Magazine was fantastic. now, it's just one giant scumwad piece of crap. progress isn't always great.
