@loqiloqi Circumcision is a 3000 year old barbaric procedure to control male sexuality. No woman would ever consider cutting off part of her daughters body so it's about time we show men and boys the same fucking respect.
Circumcision is a 3000 year old barbaric procedure. If it's not your body then don't fucking touch it. And cut the crap about wanting to do whats best for your son. If you had a daughter you would never even consider cutting part of her body off. So it's about time we start showing men and boys the same fucking respect and value
In ancient times, things were different. For one thing, if one challenged the authority of any church or religion, there were dire consequences. Plus, the social stigma associated with the religion like "you failed God" and the ultimate judgement. So in contrast, "FEAR" may be to blame for many of the circumcisions of long ago and maybe even now. Being a more educated society, we do have a choice to weigh the medical, religious, and moral issues surround this topic. I won't have it done to mine.
Circumcision is seen as the central commandment of Judaism. Even for nonreligious Jews, circumcision continues to be perceived as the "sine qua non" of Jewish identity. in Judaism circumcision is expressed as the divine mandate, which seals and perpetuates the covenant, with the Jewish people. So, "Loqiloqi" some things that you don't understand are bigger than you and the blip of time we live within. I'd say your ignorance has "gotta be embarrassing."
@mamaramatv Well, if that's the central tenant of their religion, then they are a bunch of sick people. Don't be so dismissive of that commenter. Mutilating babies is plain wrong. Judaism is almost as bad as a Satanic cult just because they refuse to stop brutally slicing healthy functioning parts off babies' penises. THEY are the ones who don't understand, not those of us who KNOW that circumcision is categorically WRONG! The Jews are stupid and ignorant about proper penile anatomy.
The bottom line is that no sane person would ever circumcise a baby because of their religion. Therefore, the Jews, Muslims, and Christians who circumcise religiously are, by definition, insane. Insane beliefs like circumcision are a plague upon society and MUST be stopped by any rational government with the power to make laws. Female circumcision is already illegal FOR ANY REASON, religious or otherwise. If you think that it is fine to slice boys but not girls, then you are a sexist fool.
@mamaramatv : "Revere the One God, the Creator of the Universe. Treat other humans like you would be treated. The rest is commentary."
If a Jew denies one or more of God, the Chosen People or the Covenant, then brit milah cannot be a "religious obligation" and ceases to make sense. Many Jews in Europe and Latin America no longer hold brisim, but do not wear that fact on their sleeves.
If you want your son's little tallywacker to match yours, then get yourself into reconstructive surgery. Or tailoring, as the case may be. Dumbass puppet-dad.
3:20 Genital cutting of children is "the cornerstone of judaism"?
Seriously?
No, seriously?
If that were the single most important aspect of my religion, I'd have the sense not to go around saying so in public. That's gotta be embarrassing.
I have to ask: do all guys in locker rooms in the US compare their penises? I'd think most American teenage boys would be too insecure for that kind of thing... Being from the UK, when I was in school, there were a couple of boys who were cut -how it came up in conversation, I have no idea- and not a single comment was made on the subject. Penis comparison must not have been on the curriculum back then.
Ive always regarded circumcision as being like the dentists and their tonsil removal spree of the 60s-70s. Its rarely necessary and merely a way of these people squeezing more money out. They play on the fears of the parents "If I do this your child is 20% less likely of getting sick" but 20% of what? How at risk were they anyway?
It's interesting really: look at what people do in BDSM porn- it's like a tame version of circumcision, so my question is why do people think that torture porn is evil while millions of americans take part in this (ongoing)painful ritual that makes bdsm pale in comparison? I'm serious, go and watch an infant circumcision video(one is availible on vevo.com) and you will think you are watching torture porn. It is sickening to watch, but I think all soontobe parents should.
Finally, there are legitimate medical reasons for circumcisions but they are so far and few in between that you will have a bigger chance of getting testicular cancer than any foreskin problems that will become serious enough to kill you. I suppose we all should remove men's testicles, shouldn't we? Wait a minute, the American male have already been castrated, they don't even have the balls to to defend their own bodies!
And to you cut guys out there, how can you bear the irritation your clothing is causing your penis? It is not irritating your penis? Well it should. Otherwise your penis have lost sensation down there.
And to those who have it done to prevent infection and germs? Isn't it ironic AFTER circumcision, the penis will have a bigger chance of getting infected than if you just leave it alone. And don't talk to me about the cleaniless factor. Are you people that lazy that you can't devote seconds in the shower or bath to clean it? I suppose you don't wipe your asses either.
To all of you people who have your sons cut because it "looks better". As far as I know, only perverts walk around showing their penises for the world to see. So the aesthetic reason is a moot point.
About all these I assume American men who have their sons cut because they want to match... I don't know what the fuck is wrong with you people. I am uncut and my father passed away a year ago and to this day I have never seen his penis. So are you telling me that American men and their sons compare genitalia? What a fucking weird and backward country we live in!
@PungiFungi - I don't understand that either. I have to think it's some "Male Ego" thing, because you're right, practically speaking there is not a lot of comparing ones' penises that goes on between fathers and sons. So I have to think it's the "concept" of "matching" or envisioning a "mini-me" that drives men to want their sons to match them. Are there any dads out there who support this notion who'd like to explain??
@mamaramatv Yeah, an ego thing, but I think its more like "The world has never seen a prettier, more perfect penis than the one in my trousers"
as in they think their nobs are solid gold, to think otherwise would hugely damage their egos, especially since penises are basically the focal point of male selfesteem.so they want the poor kid to 'look like his dad' because their huge egos mean that they can't admit that the right choice would be unmutilized coz it means their penis got pwned.bastards
@mamaramatv : boys can handle not having the same penis as Dad. But many cut Dads apparently cannot handle being reminded of foreskin every time they change Son's diaper or give him a bath.

While I think that you do a great job discussing the popular talking points on circumcision, you would be much more informative and educational if you actually cited studies & statistics. At one point, you glazed right over a popular myth, effectively confirming the school of thought that the foreskin is a NONfunctioning part of the body, which is not true. It HAS a function, & circumcision disables that function. Sex is actually more pleasurable for both parties when the foreskin is intact.
When I get someone knocked up with a boy the second she wants a circumcision I'll fight tooth and nail to convince her. If she doesn't listen then call me the wind because I won't be around to see it or her again.
religious heritage is a different argument" relative to medical yet the son should still choose which interpretation just as which medical view. parents should not "permanently" mark... forever.
There really is no excuse to mutilating a child. Yes it is 100% always wrong to circumcise infants unless there is immediate medical necessity.
As an employee in the health profession you are very much within your boundaries to say that it is 100% unnecessary genital mutilation. It is the doctors and everyone else who try to silence the truth that are wrong. They're motivated by money and ignorance.
Parents just don't know any better and are told by the lying circumcisers that it's good.
My 12 yr old son by a diff Mom is Uncircumcied, My older son age 23 is Uncircumcised. Not one has ever had a kind of problem or weird Disease or any trouble. One did yelp loud one time when he caught it in the Zipper by mistake,. But like any normal person he stopped and waited until he could pull the zipper back down after he used the bathroom. I guess that calls for the universal Zipper recall and for the worldwise institution of circumcision ?
Young man, your sisters are rude and unless they are married know more than they should about male genitals. Do not allow anyone to convince you to get circucisized. I was circumcized as an adult, I feel the doctor should have offered alternative treatment for a tight foreskin! My penis was much nicer uncut and I'm considering a technicque for stretching my foreskin. I realize it won't restore all the lost and damaged nerves but will allow the glan to be protected and moist
"Your argument is exactly like a "Right-to-Life" position, i.e. "There is no other alternative; one must never abort a fetus, end of discussion.""
This statement seems to imply there is a middle ground on infant circumcision--that sometimes it is the right thing to do to an infant and sometimes it is not the right thing to do. Would you please care to elaborate on when you feel it is the right thing to do and when you feel it is not the right thing to do?
"...I do not consider it to be "dangerous choice" for some parents to make" --mamarama
Really? Would you be willing to tell me to my face it wasn't a "dangerous choice" for MY parents to make?
Would you still be arguing that it's not "a dangerous choice for some parents to make" if we were instead talking about the clitoral hoods of infant girls?
I'm very curious how you would answer those questions.
the jews caused most of the terrible inhumaneness of the last 1200 years thru circumcision. Science has learned that the painful foreskin removal ruins the first 21-day puberty cycle which prevents males from developing empathetic feelings for other people. The khazar kingdom field-tested circumcision broadly and discovered that it provided them with heartless warriors. Then after the khazars coverted to judaism in the 8th century the diabolical act of circumcision was spread around the world.
@NoGoodThingEverDies I dunno. I'm circumcised from birth and I see myself as an empathetic, charitable person. I imagine most German SS guards at the death camps were uncut, they had no empathy at all. Even so, infant circumcision is immoral.
I had mine foreskin removed 10years ago and thank GOD!! Sex and hygiene are way better! Plus most women prefer it by far Im just lolling at all these foreskin fanatics! Just say no to dick cheese! That shit accumulates ASAP even after you take a shower its nasty period.
If we are going to put it that way why not cut of all genitals of female and male and cut boobs of womens I mean girls with boobs are likely to get boobs cancer why not just skip the risk and cut them off ?
And just to be clear, I'm not talking about the approach one takes when dealing with parents to their face.I agree with your approach of informing parents with a respectful and non-browbeating attitude-but out of practical reasons since disrespectfulness or browbeating likely results in the opposite of what one is trying to achieve. I am asking A)whether you believe this is disfiguring and damaging B)whether you believe parents decision to damage should be respected or condemned ex post facto
The pro-life position is not incorrect because it is uncompromising or extreme in its moral condemnation. It is incorrect because its premises and conclusions are not consistent with rationally-determined ethical principles. We're not talking about a fetus, we're talking about a fully-formed baby out of the womb and future adult. I thought we both agreed this was wrong, but now I'm confused what your position is. Do you agree or not agree this is disfiguring and damaging to a person's genitals?
It is good to see someone daring enough to take on such an entrenched lobby, and with such balance and grace.
I envy your equanimity. My own mother was heavily pressurised by our family doctor (who was Jewish). She resisted, but it made things awkward for the whole family for several years after that.
I am very grateful to her, but even half a century later I find it hard not to be outraged by the story.
Anyone that believes circumcision is a good thing based on statistics is a bleeping moron. Why? Statistics are created for a specific purpose, in this case, to suggest cutting off the skin on your member is good thing. It's like removing finger nails saying you won't get a cuticle infection.
In Europe, we don't have a circumcision "lobby" or industry promoting infant circumcision.
Evidence from UK and Europe shows NO medical benefit to circumcision. The largest survey of British men ever conducted (in UK) on the outcomes of male circumcision found NO benefit to circumcision for both viral and bacterial STDs (specifically, 11.1% of the circumcised men had any STD compared to 10.8% of the non-circ´ed men).
See "Sexually transmitted Infections", vol. 79, p. 499-500, Dec. 2003.
I believe it! I was surprised by how many parents bought into the medical reasons for circumcising. It's just this weird American thing, as far as I can tell - almost as though "natural" has some negative, almost uncivilized, connotation.
mama, I try to discourage this destructive, unethical fad. Routine circumcision was imported to the USA (and to all Anglophone nations) by the British in the Victorian era.
However, the Brits started to abandon routine circumcision TWO generations ago (following studies by the late British physician Gairdner, finding no medical evidence to support it).
No British medical body wants its restoration to the UK. Most Europeans regard it as mutilation. People are happier left genitally whole.
@mamaramatv The reality is exactly the opposite. Socalled circumcision should be deemed 'uncivilised' and negative. After all, historically the only peoples who practice genital mutilation are tribal. This is just one example of how backward and twisted the American mindset has become.
You'd be amazed by how many parents I have heard cite THIS reason as their primary one for circumcision. That and the STD thing (which is largely unfounded).
@mamaramatv I agree. Ask yourself, who is going to be seeing the baby's boys penis and the father's penis more than anyone else? Mom. Dad and son are not going to engage in any episodes of ongoing weenie watching. When the boy is old enough to have the talk, all that has to be done is explain that not all men/males pensises look the same. If looking like dad was the real reason, why do these boys mothers not make fake pubic hair wigs for their toddler boys and toddler girls.
@needles1987 if you're american then your parents had your part amputated because they thought it was right. The USA indocrinates its people with stories as to why babies should be mutilated at birth. It is a multi billion $ business in the USA & old sick reasoning (read about mr kellog) has supported this lucrative vile practice in US at the expense of your protection & reduced (if not drastically reduced) sexual experience. I'd disown my parents if they had done me. I'm intact, it's ecstatic.
@needles1987 you have my full sympathy. "It still works" as many will say... but simply not as well (not nearly as well), and it is no longer protected.. hence you can walk around feeling as if nothing had happened. Keratinisation has seen to that. The natural way the body will heal and protect after such an injury (cowardly done to you when you had no say and couldoffer no resistance and now have to make do with what is left over).
If all women's breasts were routinelty removed, it would eliminate breast cancer. I doubt it will happen though. The USA should be embarrassed that, as a developed country, it still practices this barbaric procedure - done without the permission of the patient i might add!
I am THIS woman, thank you - and I most definitely do not advocate mutilation or specifically circumcision. Perhaps you are not a parent, but concerning an infant born in a hospital setting it is absolutely the parents' decision whether or not to circumcise. The doctor who is pushing for the procedure is not going to take a "wait and see" attitude, so it's my job to try to be sure parents are prepared with the facts and stats.
"facts" and "stats" do not overrule the human's right to an intact body. The foreskin is not and never was a birth defect. The current "medical" system of "educating" parents to make a choice is bullshit, No doctor would advocate amputation of any other body part as a pre-emptive "cure" for diseases that are already easily preventable.
It's a joke that the medical community even considers it.
Wow, this woman is trying to come across as measured and rational when she is actually advocating mutilation of a human being, as if it should be the parents decision. How vulgar and offensive she is. Does she make money from the surgery, perhaps? And while I'm commenting, I want my tonsils back, too!
Circumcision is one of humanities greatest crimes, and American parents who continue to let this go on are its accomplices. No, the majority of neonates are not given anything for pain prior to being mutilated. It is deemed "too risky" and the baby may suffer "complications" from the anesthetic. We don't even let that happen to our dogs when spaying or neutering them. How barbaric of a society we must live in when people still use denial and flawed reasoning to say infants feel no pain. Such bull
Circumcision is just plain stupid. There is no reason for it. It makes me sick that people don't do proper research before choosing to remove a normally functioning body part from an unconsenting individual.
Excuse me "rationalway" and your "dumb bitch" remark; but if you listen to my two videos you'll see that I am very much NOT in favor of circumcision. Generally my show's goal is to present balanced clinical information and to be impartial; however this is one topic (much like my stance on episiotomy) where I feel strongly against such an unnecessary procedure. So before you start slinging insults LISTEN to the intent in order to get a more accurate picture.
@mamaramatv So, you're personally against RIC, yet you take the position that whichever way the parents do eventually decide, it should be respected, isn't that correct? In other words, parents deciding to mutilate their babies is a bad thing in your view, yet you would still respect their decision to commit a mutilation. Really? Do you see how fucked up your position is now?
Normally I would not respond to such an aggressive comment - but I'd like to set the record straight: I am a childbirth educator - it's my job to "educate", not "dictate" or be combative with parents. Though I personally would not circumcise my own son, I do not consider it to be "dangerous choice" for some parents to make. Your argument is exactly like a "Right-to-Life" position, i.e. "There is no other alternative; one must never abort a fetus, end of discussion."
a parent that does it for peer pressure shouldn't be a parent... they're willing to mutilate their kids just for some hypothetical "peer pressure" 15 years into the future...
@binkyver : for me the #1 reason is that there are women who have trouble enjoying intercourse with cut men. This can be tragic. Vaginismus and PE, and a fair bit of ED, can be blamed on routine infant circ.
1) Does circumcision reduce urinary tract infections (UTIs)? I have seen USA studies supporting this, though none from Europe. Note two points:
a) The reduced UTI incidence for circumcised boys ONLY relates to their first year of life (so not permanent).
b) UTIs only affect 1% of UNCIRCUMCISED American baby boys. This compares with 5% incidence of UTIs for baby girls (the male is anatomically well protected). Usually the UTIs go with antibiotic or resolve spontaneously.
2) Why the apparent UTI advantage for circumcised baby boys up to 1st year?
In a culture of circumcision, some parents don't realise that foreskin is not normally retractable in early childhood, so they may erroneously force retraction for hygiene.
There are examples of American pediatricians committing this painful stupidity! Forced retraction CAUSES inflammation with possible infection. RESPECT A BABY'S FORESKIN BY LEAVING IT ALONE. JUST WASH AROUND THE GENITALS to avoid problems!
You can pretty much chalk up the problem with the American medical professions to the lack of understand and the unwillingness to even try to understand. It's all about the money in this country.
Researching circumcision and STDs reveals much INCONSISTENCY. It is SOCIOECONOMIC factors and behavior, not circumcision, that count. Circumcised guys are commoner in the middle class (since the op. costs). This class has best health care and education. Some studies don't consider this variable. Some studies are designed by the circumcision lobby/industry, and can be biased.
FACT: Europe is over 90% INTACT, and we don't have more STDs than the 80% cut USA - we actually have a lot less HIV.
Thank you! I have been looking for a succinct way of explaining what you posted, and I'm definitely of the mind that this research is skewed in a way that is misleading.
actly, studies about circumcision are only about the "benefits." Studies rarely give out flaws, errors in design, procedure, and results. They only want to give out their "positive" results. Education about foreskin function, protection and medical understanding is the best way to end circumcision and the spread of all STDs including AIDs. Circumcision doesn't help!
The "benefits" they proclaim are dubious at best. And, why do they do it to newborns even IF there were benefits? Any other surgical procedure would have been delayed as much as possible in order to reduce trauma to the child. My sister had a small defect, but it was delayed till she was a teenager to make it easier on her, and yet I was circumcised without anesthesia almost immediately after birth(without reason)..... didn't make sense to me.
I've come to learn that doctors perform it as early as possible because no man in his right mind would ever be circumcised. Plus the hospitals make money selling the foreskins to pharmaceutical companies for a ton of money. Anytime anyone uses wrinkle cream and such they are really putting baby foreskins on their face. Not kidding!
Yah like im circumcised...and it was the most humiliating thing ever + im brittish and noone else is done over here so everyday I think why oh why was my penis snipped off at the end...I dont even want to recount the incident....horrible....let the man decide when hes old enough to know...
I encourage all of you to watch "operation Tuli " videos. These videos contains the non-religious and non-therapeautic circumcision from the Philippines, the bigot-dominated country.
Any smart person knows a statistic can be manipulated to fit an agenda even if it's now showing the opposite of the truth. Anyone can prove 1 and 6 really easily by a biased study. And then there'll be thousands of stupid people out there who'll believe it and mutilate their son.
Actually 17.5% of all statistics are made up on the spot. This percentage is even higher when no credible source is given. What are you going to do now that you know that 19% of all statistics are made up on the spot?
Uncircumcised boys ages 0-100 years old and above are permannently ranging from 90%-94% worldwide is always proven, not by few anti-circumcision analyst and expert urologist, but by nearly all masses worldwide who oppose circumcision seriously, even among uneducated people.
There's no one says my English is incomprehensible. But I admit that my English is not so fluent as Americans, because I'm just Guamanian Chamorro and I'm a proud Chaud.
I am circumcised. Ever rub an old scar? Pins and needles. Would you circumcise your daughter if the medical/religious reasons were the same? I want to ask my parents why they allowed the procedure to happen but I won't because it may hit them with too much guilt/remorse. What is your husband thinking? It's not a minor procedure, it depresses me sometimes, please don't take from your son that way.
Looking like the father and to others in the locker room are the worst reasons to continue the surgery. I am willing to hear all medical claims for the surgery even though I am against it because they are at least trying to help, no matter what anyone says. Circumcision really needs to be given more education and understanding. The only way to end it is to teach the true about it so it can end. I just had a son and we gave him the choice to be intact or not.
I'm so sick of seeing women who are completely unthreatened by this procedure being protected under the law from sexual mutilation in the first world discussing what amounts to grotesque child abuse like it's an ear-piercing or a hair-cut for christ's sake. The importance of the pain experienced by the person being circumcised during the procedure pales in comparison to the long term permanent effects of the procedure. I know I'll never feel right about that part of myself halfway down my body.
Absolutely right farneyblakely. The pain I felt when they cut me might have affected me, but probably no more than when I fell at two years old and broke a tooth. Trauma dissipates (though I'm not discounting that it's a horrible procedure). What affects me more is that now I am an adult, just finding sex and relationships, and I'm disfigured by the hands of another person (not an accident or a genetic fluke). I can't help but feel insecure, especially with the conflicting biases of Americans.
DON'T DO IT, DON'T DO IT!! I am circumcised, and I am very, very upset with my parents and have been since I was a child. There's no reason to do it; all the supposed benefits are excuses that are solved with shower and condoms. Saying it's the parents' decision is a cop-out. It's the kid's decision and he should make it in the extremely rare case that he needs to. By the way, I never cared what my dad looked like and there were a lot of intact kids in my class, which made me feel inadequate.
I'll tell you one thing, as an uncircumcised male, with an erect penis during intercourse, the foreskin can tighten around the head of the penis and cause a significant amount of discomfort. But maybe that's just me; the tightening will abate after many long excruciating minutes, but in general, sex is good! I have considered a circumcision however
Agremlin, a tight foreskin is VERY EASILY corrected by certain, simple stretching exercises (sometimes also with a corticosteroid cream application), which is much more convenient than a circumcision operation. Consult a doctor who knows a little about naturopathy.
oops i hit entered by mistake, as a teen i wanted to be circumcised but as an adult im soooo glad im not circumcised..it's natural and has a purpose..thank you so much for your video..
uh, I was circumcized, if i had a boy, i don't think I'd do it. that being said, when there's talk of the removal of pleasure nerves, I wish they could have removed more. I think i still have too many. In the heights of passion, I still sometimes go thru the roster of the 1984 San Diego Padres in order to slow down. as far as "matching the dad", that my be one of the creepiest things i've ever heard. I would want my son to be NOTHING like me, the least of which, his schmeckel.
I can only hope a parent who is considering this operation for their son has made the right decision after reading my posts...would make my years worth while.
CIRCUMCISION is un-necessary, barbaric, GENITAL MUTILATION! I feel strongly that this procedure should be outlawed, leave the decision up to your son once he's mature enough to make that decision for himself, (were advocating for 16yrs).
I'm 23 and was robbed of my foreskin when I was 6 and wish the decision was NOT up to my naive parents to make or anyone alses. Only if there is a VALID GENUINE MEDICAL REASON for the circumcision due to infection or Philmoisis should this procedure be considered as a LAST RESORT ONLY!
ENOUGHS ENOUGH NOW!! Time to give our boys THEIR choice back!! KEEP YOUR STICKY BECK OF HIS PRIVATE PARTS TILL HES OLD ENOUGH TO MAKE THE DECISION HIMSELF!!
To all you SURGIONS out there performing this ACT OF MUTILATION may you one day come to account for your mistakes as this barbaric procedure is now becoming more and more known and recognized as being one big *$#@ UP!.
Think of it this way, God made us all the way we came out. We should play the cards being dealt. Who are we to alter the creation of God? If you want circumcision, so be it. It's your prerogative. But you should let it be. The "facts" on the high risk of HIV or VD when you're not circumsized is based on very scarce investigation on the subject. It's basically opinions.
It's almost as loose as the facts regarding God isn't it? Oh wait no, at least there is SOME fact behind circumcision's benefits. Anyway I'm very happily circumcised. All the girls I've been with prefer it and I also prefer it. Lucky I guess since my circumcision was medical rather than religious.
Sexually, there are benefits. But it's all up to the parents. I feel that it is cruel. Of course babies will not remember it, but it hurts them something fierce. A newborn feels pain. Trust me. It's a tough debate, but really, to each it's own.
Wow that was a lot more mature than I expected, sorry about the original comment. I agree with your last point, I was circumcised when I was a newborn so I can't actually remember the pain, but apparently I didn't exactly enjoy it. I know I sure as heck wouldn't get circumcised now (if I could) because of how much it MUST hurt.
If you Americans enjoy being painfully branded like sheep for life, as well as having a large slice of specialised and highly erogenous penile tissue removed, then that's fine by me. We Europeans know better, and it is the circumcised male who OBVIOUSLY is abnormal, since UNNATURAL. But why is it being performed on babies - without the individual's consent?
FACTS! Routine circumcision is not recommended anymore. All "advantages" was proved that are myths. Can you tell me how in Europe penile and vaginal cancer is rear then in USA? In Europe 90% are not cut except jews and muslims.
You do a great job of presenting the basics in a way that will not make parents defensive:-)
Hopefully any expectant parents out there will fully educate themselves long before the decision of whether to or not to amputate part of their son comes to the fore.
Thanks. And I think the video posted above from "painfulquestioning" has a similar effect. Any parent who watches what a circumcision really looks like would have a difficult time inflicting it upon their child. I was starting to feel like the medical community treats babies like they were animals about to be branded. You know how they always say "Oh, it doesn't hurt them; they have tough hides, it's over in a moment.." ?? It's kind of the same thing.
"Any parent who watches what a circumcision really looks like would have a difficult time inflicting it upon their child...You know how they always say "Oh, it doesn't hurt them; they have tough hides, it's over in a moment.." ?? "
You'd think people would be smart enough to realize that. Sadly, people are unbelievably dumb. That's why there are people who support circumcision despite it being an obvious mutilation.
Since forever, baby boys weren't anesthetized because of the "they won't remember" argument. My uncle, who is an obstetrician, expressed his opinion that it was silly for doctors to start injecting anesthesia into the baby's penis because he believed the injections themselves are painful so it was like an oxymoron to him...(cont'd)
...I pointed out to forego circumcision would eliminate the need for anesthesia and experiencing any pain altogether. My uncle, being a pompous prick, dismissed what I said since he is a supporter of circumcision. He recently retired, thank god.
Penile cancer? What a JOKE! That is so rare!!! Should we have our stomachs removed to prevent stomach cancer? Nature knows best. Myths abound, all conceived by man. Let nature be your guide. Don't follow the teachings of man, especially if those men claim that God has spoken to them...VERY DANGEROUS! The foreskin is sleek and beautiful. The flaccid penis with the foreskin (over 50% of the skin) is missing looks ridiculous. Nature is truth. Destructive religion is a LIE.
The whole idea of people circumcising their children so they match their fathers is ridiculous to me. At what point will having matching penises matter at all? When will that ever come up in any situation? This narrow minded view of circumcision is completly stupid.
i agree, not to mention that if the child ever did notice this difference, and wondered why his penis was different from his fathers, you could simply explain to him that back when "daddy" was born, doctors used to think it was good to cut off that part, but since then doctors have realized its actually GOOD to have it.. and thats why you still have yours, and its a good thing!
i've heard of parents trying this technique before, and the child expressed his sadness towards the fact that the father had to undergo such a procedure, after imagining how painful it would be.

Each item you say is true singurarly taken, but doesn't make that much sense in the whole. I never met one circumcised man who had any sort of functional or sexual limit or other problem. The "bottom line" is always fine, either if one is circumcised or not, each status having specific advantages and disadvantages, but both "no" problem at all. Furthermore... (part 1 - follows in next post)
Furthermore, circumcision is a long time old practice, and if it has any "real" disadvantage, we'd have learned and clearly understood by now, in such a hyper scientific culture we live in, and sensefully stopped it on the ground of matter of evidence. This didn't happened. (part 2 - follows in next post)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I think circumcision is a totally acceptable option, and is right of parents to make the decision as it is their right to make the decision to vaxinate their children without asking them permission to do so. The base stands on the fact that anyone may have his/her own reason to circumcise or not their children, but should they do so, certainly they do NOT hurt them at all. And this is all that we should care for. All the rest is beauty, or no-beauty, in the eyes of the beholder (part 3 - end)
There is no way you can compare circumcision to vaccination. Vaccination does not REMOVE or ALTER the body in any way, it simply helps build up the immune system. Purely beneficial. Circumcision, however, serves no purpose other than strictly cultural.
It would not harm the child to have all the toenails surgically removed and cauterized so they wouldn't grow back (this would help prevent a lot of nasty nail infections and nailbites), but we DON'T DO IT, because it's an extreme measure where none is warrented.
You also point out that circumcized men have full and complete sex lives, and this is true. But this is also true of girls who have been circumcized (not infibulated). They don't feel mutilated or sexually reduced, but then they never had any basis for comparison.
Is this a valid reason, though? Chop off an entire hand at birth, and the person will make do because (s)he will have grown up with just one hand and be none the worse for it. What you never had, you never miss. But there is NO GOOD REASON for doing so. Circumcision, ESPECIALLY neonatal circumcision is unnecessary (and can lead to nasty infections, by the way), and so should NOT be done without the OWNER's consent.
You believe it's the parents right to have a part of a new born baby cut off? Did you actually say that circumcision doesn't hurt the baby or did I misunderstand? I really hope I got it wrong because yoiu shouldn't even be speaking on circumcision if you believe it doesn't hurt.
"Most can't seem to relate to the idea of the pain involved."
Many women prefer the intact penis for aesthetics and feel, too. Preferences depend on conditioning, and the notion that "women prefer cut penises" comes from US research, where many women are not even likely ever to have encountered the natural version.
I must say I'm surprised to find that a women cares much this issue. Most can't seem to relate to the idea of pain. I can explain it. Circumcision while not the same as FGM (as its known), would be akin to slicing off the entire clitoral hood. This would leave the glans clitoris constantly exposed to drying/abrasions and would cut out a significant amount of nervous tissue. Thats what circumcision is. As odd as it sounds females and males are more alike than people realize.
@loqiloqi Circumcision is a 3000 year old barbaric procedure to control male sexuality. No woman would ever consider cutting off part of her daughters body so it's about time we show men and boys the same fucking respect.

I'd say your ignorance has "gotta be embarrassing."
mamaramatv 2 months ago
@mamaramatv Well, if that's the central tenant of their religion, then they are a bunch of sick people. Don't be so dismissive of that commenter. Mutilating babies is plain wrong. Judaism is almost as bad as a Satanic cult just because they refuse to stop brutally slicing healthy functioning parts off babies' penises. THEY are the ones who don't understand, not those of us who KNOW that circumcision is categorically WRONG! The Jews are stupid and ignorant about proper penile anatomy.
utoobmark 3 weeks ago

PungiFungi 1 year ago
And to those who have it done to prevent infection and germs? Isn't it ironic AFTER circumcision, the penis will have a bigger chance of getting infected than if you just leave it alone. And don't talk to me about the cleaniless factor. Are you people that lazy that you can't devote seconds in the shower or bath to clean it? I suppose you don't wipe your asses either.

To all of you people who have your sons cut because it "looks better". As far as I know, only perverts walk around showing their penises for the world to see. So the aesthetic reason is a moot point.
PungiFungi 1 year ago 2
About all these I assume American men who have their sons cut because they want to match... I don't know what the fuck is wrong with you people. I am uncut and my father passed away a year ago and to this day I have never seen his penis. So are you telling me that American men and their sons compare genitalia? What a fucking weird and backward country we live in!
PungiFungi 1 year ago 2
@PungiFungi - I don't understand that either. I have to think it's some "Male Ego" thing, because you're right, practically speaking there is not a lot of comparing ones' penises that goes on between fathers and sons. So I have to think it's the "concept" of "matching" or envisioning a "mini-me" that drives men to want their sons to match them. Are there any dads out there who support this notion who'd like to explain??
mamaramatv 1 year ago 4
@mamaramatv Yeah, an ego thing, but I think its more like "The world has never seen a prettier, more perfect penis than the one in my trousers"
as in they think their nobs are solid gold, to think otherwise would hugely damage their egos, especially since penises are basically the focal point of male selfesteem.so they want the poor kid to 'look like his dad' because their huge egos mean that they can't admit that the right choice would be unmutilized coz it means their penis got pwned.bastards

As far as i know, the most used pro-circumcision excuse is the hygiene.
People who are pro-circumcision pretend that is hygienic to have the foreskin removed, because of the bacteria that might develop under the skin.
Well, my question for this excuse is everytime the same:
What you will do about your armpits and feets? Will you conssider cutting off your hands and feets, or just wash them??
What about your butts??

There really is no excuse to mutilating a child. Yes it is 100% always wrong to circumcise infants unless there is immediate medical necessity.
As an employee in the health profession you are very much within your boundaries to say that it is 100% unnecessary genital mutilation. It is the doctors and everyone else who try to silence the truth that are wrong. They're motivated by money and ignorance.
Parents just don't know any better and are told by the lying circumcisers that it's good.

Would you still be arguing that it's not "a dangerous choice for some parents to make" if we were instead talking about the clitoral hoods of infant girls?

joshd321 2 years ago
the jews caused most of the terrible inhumaneness of the last 1200 years thru circumcision.

I am asking A)whether you believe this is disfiguring and damaging B)whether you believe parents decision to damage should be respected or condemned ex post facto
joshd321 2 years ago

It's like removing finger nails saying you won't get a cuticle infection.
orangemonkeyee 2 years ago 2

It's just this weird American thing, as far as I can tell - almost as though "natural" has some negative, almost uncivilized, connotation.
mamaramatv 2 years ago 3
mama, I try to discourage this destructive, unethical fad.
People are happier left genitally whole.
psandbergnz 2 years ago
@mamaramatv The reality is exactly the opposite. Socalled circumcision should be deemed 'uncivilised' and negative. After all, historically the only peoples who practice genital mutilation are tribal. This is just one example of how backward and twisted the American mindset has become.

@mamaramatv I agree. Ask yourself, who is going to be seeing the baby's boys penis and the father's penis more than anyone else? Mom. Dad and son are not going to engage in any episodes of ongoing weenie watching. Keratinisation has seen to that.

The doctor who is pushing for the procedure is not going to take a "wait and see" attitude, so it's my job to try to be sure parents are prepared with the facts and stats.
mamaramatv 2 years ago
"facts" and "stats" do not overrule the human's right to an intact body. The foreskin is not and never was a birth defect. The current "medical" system of "educating" parents to make a choice is bullshit, No doctor would advocate amputation of any other body part as a pre-emptive "cure" for diseases that are already easily preventable.
It's a joke that the medical community even considers it.

Usually the UTIs go with antibiotic or resolve spontaneously.
psandbergnz 3 years ago 5
2) Why the apparent UTI advantage for circumcised baby boys up to 1st year?
In a culture of circumcision, some parents don't realise that foreskin is not normally retractable in early childhood, so they may erroneously force retraction for hygiene.
There are examples of American pediatricians committing this painful stupidity! Forced retraction CAUSES inflammation with possible infection. RESPECT A BABY'S FORESKIN BY LEAVING IT ALONE. JUST WASH AROUND THE GENITALS to avoid problems!

FACT: Europe is over 90% INTACT, and we don't have more STDs than the 80% cut USA - we actually have a lot less HIV.

actly, studies about circumcision are only about the "benefits." Studies rarely give out flaws, errors in design, procedure, and results. They only want to give out their "positive" results. Education about foreskin function, protection and medical understanding is the best way to end circumcision and the spread of all STDs including AIDs. Circumcision doesn't help!
redheadfan1 3 years ago 3
Agreed, problems with sex organs are not fixed by disfigurement. They are fixed through healthy behavior.
ryanmczero 3 years ago 2
The "benefits" they proclaim are dubious at best. And, why do they do it to newborns even IF there were benefits? Any other surgical procedure would have been delayed as much as possible in order to reduce trauma to the child. My sister had a small defect, but it was delayed till she was a teenager to make it easier on her, and yet I was circumcised without anesthesia almost immediately after birth(without reason)..... didn't make sense to me.
lochinvar00465 3 years ago 5
I've come to learn that doctors perform it as early as possible because no man in his right mind would ever be circumcised. Plus the hospitals make money selling the foreskins to pharmaceutical companies for a ton of money. Anytime anyone uses wrinkle cream and such they are really putting baby foreskins on their face. Not kidding!

I encourage all of you to watch "operation Tuli " videos. These videos contains the non-religious and non-therapeautic circumcision from the Philippines, the bigot-dominated country.
karelingab 3 years ago 3
Here are the irrelevant and idiot purposes to circumcised Filipinos
1.) Circumcision makes the boys taller.
2.) If you are a Filipino boy, you required to be circumcised.
3.) Circumcised prevents STD, like HIV/AIDS.
4.) Circumcised penises are bigger than the uncut penises.
5.) Cut boys can bears children, easily.
6.) A child whose father is uncircumcised has eye pus paste in the morning.
7.) A boy should be circumcised so that he will become like his father who was already circumcised.

I can't wait for pseudo science to try to prove how 1,2,4, 5 and 6 are "true."
redheadfan1 3 years ago

It's not a minor procedure, it depresses me sometimes, please don't take from your son that way.
lordcrunk 3 years ago 9
Looking like the father and to others in the locker room are the worst reasons to continue the surgery. I am willing to hear all medical claims for the surgery even though I am against it because they are at least trying to help, no matter what anyone says. Circumcision really needs to be given more education and understanding. The only way to end it is to teach the true about it so it can end. I just had a son and we gave him the choice to be intact or not.
redheadfan1 3 years ago 3
I'm so sick of seeing women who are completely unthreatened by this procedure being protected under the law from sexual mutilation in the first world discussing what amounts to grotesque child abuse like it's an ear-piercing or a hair-cut for christ's sake. The importance of the pain experienced by the person being circumcised during the procedure pales in comparison to the long term permanent effects of the procedure. I know I'll never feel right about that part of myself halfway down my body.
farneyblakeley 4 years ago 2

By the way, I never cared what my dad looked like and there were a lot of intact kids in my class, which made me feel inadequate.
seannla 4 years ago 8
It's actually not the parents' decision at all, any more than it is their decision whether to have the baby's left arm chopped off.

I'll tell you one thing, as an uncircumcised male, with an erect penis during intercourse, the foreskin can tighten around the head of the penis and cause a significant amount of discomfort. But maybe that's just me; the tightening will abate after many long excruciating minutes, but in general, sex is good! I have considered a circumcision however
gremlin66n 4 years ago
Agremlin, a tight foreskin is VERY EASILY corrected by certain, simple stretching exercises (sometimes also with a corticosteroid cream application), which is much more convenient than a circumcision operation. Consult a doctor who knows a little about naturopathy.

Do you prefer a circumcised penis or an uncircumcised penis?
yoda002 4 years ago
It's not a goddamn surgery!
Surgery is defined only as the correction of deformities, injuries, and diseases. Healthy foreskin does not fall under any of those categories.
Men should make their own cosmetic and sexual decisions as adults.

It's basically opinions.
heat4yoass 4 years ago 2
It's almost as loose as the facts regarding God isn't it? Oh wait no, at least there is SOME fact behind circumcision's benefits. Anyway I'm very happily circumcised. All the girls I've been with prefer it and I also prefer it. Lucky I guess since my circumcision was medical rather than religious.
BGH122 4 years ago
Sexually, there are benefits. But it's all up to the parents. I feel that it is cruel. Of course babies will not remember it, but it hurts them something fierce. A newborn feels pain. Trust me. It's a tough debate, but really, to each it's own.
heat4yoass 4 years ago

"Routine Circumcision: YAHOO! Video"
user88user 4 years ago 2
It's kind of the same thing.
mamaramatv 4 years ago

You'd think people would be smart enough to realize that. Sadly, people are unbelievably dumb. That's why there are people who support circumcision despite it being an obvious mutilation.
This dumb woman is a perfect example:

To answer mamaramatv's question:
Since forever, baby boys weren't anesthetized because of the "they won't remember" argument. My uncle, who is an obstetrician, expressed his opinion that it was silly for doctors to start injecting anesthesia into the baby's penis because he believed the injections themselves are painful so it was like an oxymoron to him...(cont'd)
EscapeSociety 4 years ago
...I pointed out to forego circumcision would eliminate the need for anesthesia and experiencing any pain altogether.

Destructive religion is a LIE.
user88user 4 years ago 3
The whole idea of people circumcising their children so they match their fathers is ridiculous to me. At what point will having matching penises matter at all? When will that ever come up in any situation? This narrow minded view of circumcision is completly stupid.
KJLmurcielago 4 years ago 5
i agree, not to mention that if the child ever did notice this difference, and wondered why his penis was different from his fathers, you could simply explain to him that back when "daddy" was born, doctors used to think it was good to cut off that part, but since then doctors have realized its actually GOOD to have it.. and thats why you still have yours, and its a good thing!
joelface 4 years ago
i've heard of parents trying this technique before, and the child expressed his sadness towards the fact that the father had to undergo such a procedure, after imagining how painful it would be.
very telling.
joelface 4 years ago
dont do it seriously,,,,ya sure a non clipped penis probably doent smell as bad when its dirty..but seriously im not cut and the foreskin isnt just any peice of skin it gives sexual pleasure,,foreskin isnt a birth defect or tumor so dont get it removed! and do you actually beleive the hiv thing,,cmon the foreskin isnt some magical hiv magnet
JajaJibbidyJa 4 years ago 4
Each item you say is true singurarly taken, but doesn't make that much sense in the whole. I never met one circumcised man who had any sort of functional or sexual limit or other problem. The "bottom line" is always fine, either if one is circumcised or not, each status having specific advantages and disadvantages, but both "no" problem at all. Furthermore... (part 1 - follows in next post)
Fiona74 4 years ago
Furthermore, circumcision is a long time old practice, and if it has any "real" disadvantage, we'd have learned and clearly understood by now, in such a hyper scientific culture we live in, and sensefully stopped it on the ground of matter of evidence. This didn't happened. (part 2 - follows in next post)
Fiona74 4 years ago

I think circumcision is a totally acceptable option, and is right of parents to make the decision as it is their right to make the decision to vaxinate their children without asking them permission to do so. The base stands on the fact that anyone may have his/her own reason to circumcise or not their children, but should they do so, certainly they do NOT hurt them at all. And this is all that we should care for. All the rest is beauty, or no-beauty, in the eyes of the beholder (part 3 - end)
Fiona74 4 years ago
There is no way you can compare circumcision to vaccination. Vaccination does not REMOVE or ALTER the body in any way, it simply helps build up the immune system. Purely beneficial. Circumcision, however, serves no purpose other than strictly cultural.
Gilmaris 4 years ago 4
It would not harm the child to have all the toenails surgically removed and cauterized so they wouldn't grow back (this would help prevent a lot of nasty nail infections and nailbites), but we DON'T DO IT, because it's an extreme measure where none is warrented.
Gilmaris 4 years ago 4
You also point out that circumcized men have full and complete sex lives, and this is true. But this is also true of girls who have been circumcized (not infibulated). They don't feel mutilated or sexually reduced, but then they never had any basis for comparison.
Gilmaris 4 years ago 3
Is this a valid reason, though? Chop off an entire hand at birth, and the person will make do because (s)he will have grown up with just one hand and be none the worse for it. What you never had, you never miss. But there is NO GOOD REASON for doing so. Circumcision, ESPECIALLY neonatal circumcision is unnecessary (and can lead to nasty infections, by the way), and so should NOT be done without the OWNER's consent.
Gilmaris 4 years ago
You believe it's the parents right to have a part of a new born baby cut off? Did you actually say that circumcision doesn't hurt the baby or did I misunderstand? I really hope I got it wrong because yoiu shouldn't even be speaking on circumcision if you believe it doesn't hurt.
KJLmurcielago 4 years ago 3
Edit...I mean...Most can't seem to relate to the idea of the pain involved.
ajeenyus 4 years ago
"Most can't seem to relate to the idea of the pain involved."
Many women prefer the intact penis for aesthetics and feel, too. Preferences depend on conditioning, and the notion that "women prefer cut penises" comes from US research, where many women are not even likely ever to have encountered the natural version.
Gilmaris 4 years ago 2
I must say I'm surprised to find that a women cares much this issue. Most can't seem to relate to the idea of pain. I can explain it. Circumcision while not the same as FGM (as its known), would be akin to slicing off the entire clitoral hood. This would leave the glans clitoris constantly exposed to drying/abrasions and would cut out a significant amount of nervous tissue. Thats what circumcision is. As odd as it sounds females and males are more alike than people realize.
ajeenyus 4 years ago
