How could you lammy0001, you cut the best part at the end??!! That is the best part of this video to me...uaahh! I am really sad...:o( In those last 15 seconds of the show Anthony says something about us puerto ricans that is all worth watching this show to the very end. Oh, I am so crushed.
what the fuck bayamon isnt a barrio of san juan bayamon is a whole town or city seperate from san juan and he forgot the rooster fights las empanadillas alcapurias and he forgot the leyend of la llorona and going to san german to see the oldest colonial churches he could have also gone to las cuevas de camuy and historic taino memorial sites but ohh well
la llorona is not originally from puerto rico... the story is tald in the island but is not from puerto rico.... the oldest colonia curch is San Jose in Old San Juan (is actually the 2nd oldest in the entire American Continent)
Por favor, no critiquen mas, coño! Congratulations to Mr Bourdain and Mr Zimmerman for putting together two shows that were very interesting but more important, respectful of our culture and people. Gracias.
i just can't stand the pasteles wrapped with paper!!!! wtf... that is not authentic!! i live in Cleveland and I have pasteles made with plantain leaves!!!!! how come these restaurants couldn't do better than that!
No the paper is only underneath the plantian leaves so the masa doesnt get stuck to the leaves when you unwrap it. They still use the leaves.. That is the authentic way
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. My family makes pasteles for selling and caterings. I definitively know how the are done. You don't need any papers at all. With the paper it doesn't even taste good.
yes but that isn't authentic... if you go to any place in PR you can find pasteles wrapped only in the plantain leaves... and you definitively don't need paper to freeze them because I keep frozen pasteles at home and I never had a problem with the plantain leaves.
was miguel cotto. thats it and then all thos stupid stories of jacinto n the chupa cabra he could have been more productive on those lame parts. even my white best friend knows more about puerto rican culture and she has never been!!! i still love anthony bourdain but he did do alot of tourist shit and he didnt want to do it.. but he did..
soooo i just think all of us perto ricans are slightly disapointed.... but he really should have had more chicken dishes and more pasteles ( de yuca, guineo...etc..) arroz con gandulez? not once!!!!!! his tour guide was a pendejo!! a "newyorican" to show around "Borinquen"? the best part of this whole thing
I'm pissed off. Like I said before in comparison with other countries he's done this "No Reservations" was poor. That Newyorican guy sucks!!!! as a host. He should've given him a better tour. However if you go to Puerto Rico ask for
1.Pasteles, 2.Morcilla 3. Sancocho
4.Mondongo 5.Guineitos en escabeche
5. Alcapurrias, Bacalaítos, Rellenos de carne and the list goes on...
Watch when Zimmerman went to PR... remember Tony's show its more like a tour but if you wanna see real traditional dishes watch Bizarre Foods-Puerto Rico.. actually Tony is funnier i liked it better
He ate alot of good foods, but mostly everything he ate was pork. PR has good steak (like bistec encebollado) & cood chicken too, he should have ate some of that also
Thats one thing i miss the most since my father in law past. mis every piece of him and puerto rico my goal is to go to P.R be like he said to be you are a true boricua at heart. Miss you DAD. RIP MIguel from Caguas
Of course I'm puertorican myself we do eat alot and think everytime about food. We really kick ass and we know our food and how to make tourists happy.
Anthony likes to try very weird food. They should showed him the blooded sausages, the stew that is made with the cow's stomach -a sancocho? and the soup made with chicken feet. That's the kind of food that Anthony likes to show on his show. I'm also dissapointed that he didn't get to eat lobster.
Apparently not all Puerto Ricans, I had never heard of that... Haha, I guess I'm behind. What do you mean that Guaynabo and Bayamon are suburbs of SJ? I mean, they have their respective mayors and whatnot. Just curious...
I miss my island :(

and what about the desserts???
He didn't show none of them... Again if you go to Puerto Rico ask for this:
1. Arroz con dulce 2.Tembleque
3. Majarete 4. Dulce de coco and the list goes on... this show was good but it missed a lot of things!!!

He digs on swine... beef and chicken are nice but the pig is the king of edible animals.

he should have tried "morcillas" and those weird ice creams at "Heladeria Lares"

The sancocho is not the stew with the cow's stomach. That's called "mondongo".
