For instance, during the era of Byzantine Empire and the Spread of Islam the Christians made rumors of Muslims eating christian children while the Muslims criticize the Christians of iconic worship. In a world without religion, we could do so much more, progress mankind to the stars etc etc. But I understand that chemlin sees religion = re-binding, not something I want to be part of. Religion will be partially the downfall of man. Creating idols without evidence and then arguing who's idol is best.
