  • I start learning Bananarama starting from this 12" when i was just in Form 1 and start loving them all the ways. HK

  • I think Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk, his father co-wrote this song. His name is Daniel Vangarde.I think.

  • When did this come out? It seems from what I've read on here that it was in the early 80's.

  • @goblinb It was released in 1981 on the Demon/Deram record label catalogue number DMX 446. I bought the 12" in version back then from "Bruce's Record Shop" on Princess St Edinburgh for the princely sum of 79p... :)

  • c'est nul cette reprise vive l'original

  • Sex Pistol Paul Cook drummin`?

  • SUCH A PITY THEY DIDN'T MAKE A VIDEO TO THIS IN THEIR RAGS!

HEAVENLY, THEY WERE SOOOOO AMAZING IN THE BEGINNING!

  • Just how cool is this song ... Bananarama rock!

  • @DjDeutschesReich1488

The original (almost) always sounds better, because it is better. The point is that Bananarama were eclectic and brave enough to cover this song at the time when that kind of music did not have a lot of commercial appeal and in the process exposed a lots of then-kids to this classic tune. In comparison, it is simply unfathomable that a popster today do anything remotely as risky as this.

  • @ThieveryCorps ... Very true... It's kind of a shame they ended up doing standard Stock Aitken and Waterman fare later on when they started out with this.

  • @oclandestin

Terry Hall was not there anymore to hold their hands and they got SAW(ed).

  • @ThieveryCorps ... Maybe, but I think they did this song before they met Terry Hall... and that's why he wanted to work with them.

  • @ThieveryCorps they were with jolley/swain a few years before SAW, however they did continue to write there own stuff.

  • @oclandestin, I've often found a similar progress with rock bands - the earlier stuff is more raw whereas each album becomes more polished.

  • @JosephKuby probably because as a band/group/singer becomes more succesful, they bring in the expensive producers and can hire better studios, etc

  • damn, i totally forgot about this version.... i LOVED and still LOVE those girls

  • never heard this b4... wow, the vocals sound different to the original version...

  • This is much longer ?

  • God, how rare is that first single? The girls' look changed so much over the years.

  • YAH, CRANK UP DE BASS, MON

  • sorry but there was a lot more 'feeling' in the original!

  • awesomeness! =D

    love bananarama =D

    x
