  • Tom Magee looks a little bit like Kerry Von Erich.

  • Gibbs is the consummate jobber. no matter how green, how uncoordinated or how just plain sucky his opponent is, you leave with the impression that the opponent is 100% pure wrecking machine. just a shame that this McGee SIMPLY COULD NOT WORK.... look up "the absolute drizzling shits" in the dictionary and you find a pic of david flair and this guy.

  • Terry Gibbs is the shit!!!! He worked that eye gouge perfectly! Then some deadly shots to the adams apple! ....

  • I remember this guy from way back but through the years could never remember his name and I've not seen a match of his in forever. He seemed promising but perhaps a rare case if there was one of being at the right place and wrong place at the same time in wrestling. Thanks for posting this match. Good memories.

  • Terry Gibbs !!!

  • magee has chicken legs

  • I find it pretty damned funny that this guy was sooo bad, they went with Warrior instead. Could anyone imagine...Champion vs. Champion Title for Title Wrestlemania VI Hulk Hogan vs. Canada's Favorite Son Tom Magee?

  • Jimmy Hart says all you need to know about Tom Magee at 1:32

  • @peterp21 he had no enthusiasm in his moves. he telegraphic everything. he went through the motions and didnt sell even his moves. plus he is standing sooo tall i think he has to take a shit. maybe if they had trained him more he would have been better. but dude this was bad

  • You know, the story is that Magee totally stunk in the ring after that match where Bret Hart made him look good, but I don't see it. Magee looked really good in the ring here, especially considering this was 1987. I'm sure he was green and who knows what his charisma or mic skills would have been, but put aside the story everyone knows (and since it's on the internet, accepted as the truth) and were watching this in '87, you would have been impressed.

  • I'm one of Magee's biggest fans

  • Tom Magee was in the movie Stone Cold with Bosworth

  • 5:48

  • gorrila and hart's commentary puts the current bums in wwe to shame.

booker is funny sometimes but cole and grisham are godawful

  • Look! It's another Von Erich! XD

  • Was that Lee Marshall doing the ring announcing? He kinda looked like Gary Hart with hair.

  • @CactusZack No I dont think that was him his voice is more distinguishable like it was at wm2. :)

  • That finisher submission rwas pure hotness!

  • Better than Warrior in ring wise at least

  • Better than Warrior

  • Only thing I could say about Tom Magee is..., DAMN! :D

  • Only guy stronger then Magee ever to enter Pro Wrestling was Bill Kazmier after Magee would be Mark Henry Ken Patera and Nathan Jones because they are the only ones ever brave enough to enter Professional Strongman Circuits. If the Big Show or Goldberg ever had the guts to enter one they'd be up there with them.

  • @tubaSHANK Yeah but I bet none of those men can do back flips and shooting star flips landing on the feet like Magee can. He was far ahead of the game in only this one match against a jobber, ironically.

  • Thanks for posting...interesting to imagine what might have been...

  • tom samson magee :

    deadlift 1180 lbs

    squat 1066 lbs

    bench press 600 lbs

  • Magee is the real Ultimate Warrior has climbed ever mountain Kayaked 20 miles 1180lb deadlift 955lb squat 575lb raw bench and all for real like I said before the closest thing to Samson this world will ever see. Watch the 1985 Worlds Strongest Man on here you'll respect this man and how hard he works!

  • Was that sweater a birthday present from Grandma Magee?

  • Tom Magee > John Cena

  • @WhipDarling you are soooo right tom magee can eat and destroy john cena and stronger than john cena

  • Bad at Selling but ok in the ring.

  • this guy should of been the next big thing to replace hogan

  • Kinda sorta looks like Kerry Von Erich, minus charisma

  • Awesome flexibility and agility there. Personally I was expecting something like the Doug Furnas/Masato Tanaka match in ECW the way folks talked about Magee. With a little more time and experience he wouldn't have been bad.

  • Great Athlete; one of the strongest men in the world at the time-but wrestling skill is wrestling skill.

By the way though, 90% of the male marks on YT think Kelly Kelly beating Beth Phoenix is no big thing but they pontificate about how some guy "can't work".

    Right.

  • Good lord he was shit. The 360 was cool though for a big guy.

  • the 360 in the air was good, but the forward roll sold it for me...

  • Tom Magee was the Next Big Thing! Whatever happened to him?

  • i want more matches of tom magee in wwf

  • please i want more matches for tom magee please!!!!!!!!!! if anyone has any match please send it to me he has amatch against bret hart i want this match and against iron mike sharpe

  • i love tom magee and i think he is one of the strongest men in the world and in the history of wrestling . he is stronger than john cena bobby lashley rob terry bill goldberg and dave batista

  • Should've called Magee Samson because that's who he really is!

  • Magee wasn't the best wrestler, but at least the guy was athletic and had a good look.

  • Whoa! Had the upper body like Kerry Von Erich...anybody know his stats?

  • He reminds me quite a bit of American Gladiator Malibu, who briefly attempted pro wrestling around 1990 ... great physique but horrible in the ring.

  • I totally agree with the comments from indcore about Vince McMahon.

  • Magee went on to compete in "World's Strongest Man" and though normally one of the smallest competitors he won many individual events and is universally recognized as pound-for-pound one of the strongest men to have ever lived...it's truly a shame that the pathetic arrogant joke that is Vince McMahon wasted this guy as he has countless others over the years...

  • He just plain sucks

  • Weird that horrible workers like khali and giant Gonzales can get time to never get better but not the Mega man? I mean if he would have really laid them in he would've been the Shit yell

  • If he was such an asset at the time, why didn't the opposition snap him up?

  • Should've called Magee The Man!!!

  • Like the powerhouse before him, Arcidi, though from this vid, looks to have more skills than Arcidi, super stiff and no charisma whatsoever.....almost like he's preforming moves in slo mo, like he really has to think about them.....didn't have a marketing/ gimic type name either.......

  • its a shame he was stiff.proves that wrestling is more than it appears.different kind of skills needed.i saw the best of athletes fail as wrestlers.although it is a show, there are still many types of skills needed.magee didnt have the tools.powerful and agile, just couldnt get over

  • Fantastic upper body on Magee...where is he now?

  • Tom "Mullet" Magee

  • Tom Magee is one of if not THE best Strongmen Canada has ever produced. A world champion powerlifter and placed 2nd at the Worlds Strongest Man behind Bill Kazmier and almost beat him. Bret Hart can't hold a candle to this mans athletic credentials nor can any but a few men who have wrestled in the WWF/WWE

  • @AdrianKimmett1 too bad he couldn't "work"

  • @ThePGeraFuckingSucks ...I think Vince really fucked up with this guy. Yeah, Magee was terrible, but how was he any worse than UWarrior or Luger? This guy at least was an unbelievable athlete. They could have molded him into something great if they would have worked with him and trained him. But Vince was super arrogant at the time, given how big the WWF was, and probably figured Magee wasnt worth the hassle or effortt. I swear, he probably regrets that now. He would made bank off this guy.

  • He wrestled as Joe McKanzie here in Europe. I put some vids of him on youtube.

  • Funny how they're talking about The Hitman during this match when most people watching this video now are only here because of Magee's mention in Hart's book.

    Lol.

  • Tom Magee???? HAHAHA

  • Magee had all the tools, but he just couldn't get his head around the concept of working a match. A shame, if he had, he'd have been huge- even as raw as he was here he's already more entertaining than the Warrior.

  • @Germany1111 I don't get this "couldn't get his head around the concept of working a match" comment. You then note that he was raw yet entertaining. Magee wrestled like 3 televised matches in WWF, the dude didn't have any time to not have an idea on working a match. Your comment's a total non sequitur.

  • Heard this guy's name, but this is the first I see of him. He would have made a better Warrior, but who knows where we'd be today if he was? Hell of a gymnast, anyway! Would have been cool to see him wrestle The Blue Blazer.

  • awesome body, wow, but not a good actor

  • Nice F'n Backflip. LOL

  • Who in the Hell is Tom Magee? LOL

  • @JeffTheFutureJaros Vince thought Magee was the next Hulk Hogan (apparently based on one good match where Bret Hart carried the load), but then Hellwig came along and Poor Mr Magee went south.

  • @MrWrestlingMan LOL, So where's the match with Bret Hart at, you have that one? I'd love to see Bret carry the match for ol' Small Dick, Tom Magee, LOL, How bad is it to be replaced by Jim Hellwig? LOL

  • @MrWrestlingMan Well he did two other matches with two other guys and he was one of the worst workers ever

  • @MrWrestlingMan it goes to show that bret hart can make this jobber look good the best thing tom did was in entrance and thats where it stops besides packing his bags n going home lol
