Hi, i love this set-up, but the cages are too small for the amount of quails in them! just saying you should build them bigger cages or keep less in the ones you already have, check out my video or my 2 jap quails, they are outside in a big metal avairy, and lay 1-2 eggs a day, and 1 question, my quails have funny shaped eggs? one quail lays long oval shaped eggs, the other one lays eggs that are almost round ? is there something wrong or is natural to have different shaped eggs?
Hi...how many eggs do you get each day from all the cages? how many birds you have in each cage?(males&females) Do they born eggs all the year?...(months?)
i only have a question and my question is where did u bought the mesh? i know is 1/2 x 1/2 mesh but i cant find it.. where did u got it from and how much it cost... just hope u answer soon.. and thank u for ur info...
I like that setup I have a similar quail battery myself I still use the auto waters you have to refill and place inside the cage. I like the way yours can be filled from outside the cage.
@Prabhirrox If you use a solid bottom cage they get feces clumped around their feet which can cause many more problems than the hardware cloth does. I believe the recommended floor space per bird is 1 sq ft which he's fairly close to
@BillW77 not sure the exact age you can sex them. They start laying eggs at 7 weeks of age. Males tend to have more red in the breast area whereas females have dark stripes across their breast
Thanks for the fabulous video! I am thinking of getting into raising quail and this video was very helpful for me and very informative. I love that set up--especially the egg-catching tray! Thanks!
nice

Is the mesh bottom ok for their feet? And are those cages big enough for them?

Nice job. How can you tell the males from the females and at what age?

Thanks for sharing your setup. Mind if I ask how you have the water bowls secured to the cage? I've never seen that before and I really like it!

@buddysdomain they attach by two tabs that are inserted into the side (mesh) and bent down, its pretty nice.
