@ALB437 I think not. The main gear is too small, E-2 and C-2 have a heavy strenght landing gear. On the other hand its structure its too weak to became a naval AEW.
@melooncillo - Thanks. If maybe the landing gear could be strenghten, it must presently be impossible to do someting about the struture. But if it goes on being that satisfactory, maybe the next one (C296) could have a totally reviewed frame.
Hermoso Persuader, sin dudas un excelente complemento para el condor, sería muy facil y menos honeroso mantener una sola linea logistica de c-295 tanto para la armada, ejercito y fach, saludos...
@stalkingalizee I wasn't refereeing to France budget, you are the one who is interested for some reason in platform without radar moron.
Israel is a leader in Radar technology, France uses Boeing E-3 Sentry as AEW&C, while Israel use EL/M2085 radar of Elta IAI mounted on Gulfstream G-550. I mean no disrespect to France, French military industries topnotch and have their niche of specialty and excellence, so do Israeli industries, Radars is one of Israeli niches.
@IsraeliXdude So how do u not refer to French budget when you say we lack the budget? Thales has better AESA tech b/c we make our own high power GA T/R modules and make the full range of radars including AEW not to mention the best AESA ship EW radar in the world. It don't take much to put that tech into an AWACs. All I am saying is I don't want it unless Thales gets to make an AWACs radar, we need the business since Israel dominates UAVs.
@stalkingalizee So does Elta and Rada(another Israeli radar producer) make their own T/R, what is your point?
I know wiki is by far not the best of reliable sources, but check it for AESA value, you will see there US Russian Japanese Italian Israeli radars, only Frech one i see is RBE2 which is due to be fitted on Rafale in 2012, while Israeli fighters fly with Israeli made AESA radars for over a decade
@stalkingalizee Bullshit, R/T are the core of radar technology, Elta is a developer and manufacturer of radars not assembler, R/T modules are designed and manufactures in-house of Elta facilities. IAF still fly few Phantoms with AESA radars, and some of old F-16 dont require US approval to mount Israeli FCR.
Another example of Israeli superiority is that Eltas Super green pine radar won over ThalesRaytheonSystems M3r radar to equip S.Korean air defense forces
@IsraeliXdude No BS, Elta has to import its Gallium Arsenide T/R modules from the US. None of IDF's fighters fly with AESA radars... this is FACT. Selex (Italy) imports its GA modules from United Monolithic which is in France. Japan doesn't make AESA radars.
@stalkingalizee Please then provide with the company name which provide Israel with Gallium Arsenide T/R lol , Elta new generation radars are Gallium Nitride not Arsenide
if not then cut with your bullshit
From Elta website:
"ELTA Systems' products include systems, subsystems and critical technological sub-assemblies and components, designed and produced in-house."
I can say that you are an idiot this is a FACT, but is it actually ?
@gorf1 That isn't AESA, the Chilean Condor is PESA. IAI didn't start adding AESA arrays until the Eitam. The Green Pine radar was Israel's first ever AESA and it took nearly a decade to get a scaled version airbourne.

Needs a top capable tail gunner. Put guns on it or they won't buy it. It's vulnerable from lead rain.

@stalkingalizee Why? that's what makes it worth the money. Israeli radars are the best.

@IsraeliXdude Israel buys American T/R modules, France and the US are the only two nations to make them, except Russia but theirs are obsolete.
IDF fighters don't fly with AESA, they fly with PESA. Elta is working on one but it is several years behind the RBE2 AA.

@stalkingalizee ELW-2075 AEW&C by Elta was the first airborne AESA radar in the world.

@gorf1 The first IAI AWACs with AESA was the Eitam delivered in September of 2006. The Saab Eyrie was delivered before that.

@stalkingalizee first IAI AWACS was Phalcon delivered to Chile in 1994. Long before the Eyrie and any other airborne AESA.
