Somehow, nothing beats a good Guile V.S. Ryu matchup. It's always interesting to watch... Both players tend to take their time, match one another up, play at their own pace and put all of their best tricks to use.
Great play by Kurahashi in this matchup! As guile against Ryu/Ken players, first play patiently and don't jump over fireballs very much. Then, when the Ryu/Ken realizes this, you can easily pick your spots to jump when they increase the frequency of their fireball throwing. The backfist is also a great counter to fireball throwers! 2nd round was domination by Kurahashi!
Jumping in on Guile is suicide, I'm a ryu player so ya pretty much spam fireballs, build meter and that basicaly gives ryu a huge advangage, because guile wll be very careful about throwing out sonic booms after that
I was talking about Guile players need to play patiently against fireball crazy Ryu players, look for a pattern, and start jumping over the fireballs once they see a pattern after 1-2 rounds. I think you though I was talking about Ryu jumping in on Guile, which is not suicide if you wait for a sonic boom before jumping or anticipate a guile sonic boom throwing pattern, which most average-good players have.
too bad he's one of the greatest fucking ST players of all time. you'd be lucky to get near any of the players who played in the usa vs japan exhibition
Those throws u do for guile are so amazing in the second round. It can be quite hard to pull off those moves in any street fighter series when u are playing Guile. Guile rules!
i would prefer muteki's guile anytime. his guile is more offensive which actually brings out more of guile's potential. kurahashi on the other hand prefer to turtle most of the time.
Turtling is what makes Guile so powerful, I never understand the idea of trying to play Guile offensively, when he has always suited turtling more. Even his ST counterpart is no different in this case, however, this match up is great, simply because I love the oldschool spacing of Guile vs Ryu.

Any SF video that shows someone spamming fireballs as a strategy is obviously Mike Watson.

Saved to favourites. I've never seen a Guile fuck a Ryu's head with a sledge hammer that hard before.

@JED707 I have many times. Just not exactly in this manner. And not in ST, in SF2CE, and SF2HF.
