  • The voice that comes out of Teller's mouth is the best noise I have ever heard come out of anyone's mouth ever.

  • I have been performing this trick since 1974. It's not a new principle. Dont know why they are selling this for $1000. I only spent about $25 for the stuff required and preparing each bottle takes about 15 minutes. It'sdescribed in an old mentalism book.

  • @SuperMahebourg

Could you Please PM me .I would like to come to a trade with you please you can ask any thing magic wise!

  • i though it was going to be a bottle that pour liquid thought it looks empty

  • WoW is Jess fucking drunk, holy shit.

  • 1:19 Booyeah, Samuel L!

  • yay, teller can sing chinese opera lol

  • Oh, I just did some research, and the company making these special bottles was charging 1000 dollars for the trick. I'm not sure how many bottles you get for $1000 (maybe just one?) so you'd have to be a very successful magician to be able to afford this.

  • @artysmokes

    Regular coke bottles work

  • If I understand this correctly, to do this trick, you have to spend loads of money on some specially prepared bottles that look just like Coke bottles, but were actually made using the Bologna heat/cool process. If you take a regular coke bottle and hit it on something hard, it will smash. Putting a nail inside it won't make it shatter. The bottles in this clip are NOT normal Coke bottles. I wonder how much the special ones cost.

  • Google Bologna Bottle. This is just and old science class trick.

  • Tony Horton of P90X at 1:27

  • 0:55 titts spotted

  • 0:55 titts spoted

  • 0:07 scared the hella shit out of me

  • I wanna give you a big orgasm...

  • HAAAAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!!!!!

  • has nothing to do with heat.

  • @muddack actually, it has

  • I never knew teller sang chinese opera.

  • @trantricity

yes but dont they say you will also get instructions to DIY?

  • its not magic its basic physics, when the nail vibrates in the bottle it creates sound waves which in return shatter the bottle due to the high frequency.

  • How you do this trick?

    Sniper

  • I've had the worst crush on Teller for years.

  • How can i learn this trick?

  • Resonance frequency.

  • good to know for bar fights =p

  • GBJ83: Google "Bologna bottle"

  • thats funny... cuz i tryied with a normal bottle and it works... i need a just coin...

  • This is a lot like Prince Rupert's Drop.

    similar principle maybe.

  • they are using sound waves!

  • it was like a little orgasm??

  • "Its an amazing motherfucker!"

    Fuck yeah

  • 1:03, yummy. And a potty mouth too. I like that.

  • ahahahah my thoughts exactly!

  • a little too obvious

  • where did you get that music at end?

  • Who the FUCK is Jessica Simpson, and why do I want to shoot myself in the face when I see her?

  • jizus christ

  • 1:23

It's little quotes like that that remind me I'm on the internet.

  • Teller's noise...LMFAO!! That guy always makes me laugh

But yeah this is an easy one to figure out actually a few of Penn and Tellers tricks are easily figured and done, but still entertaining :D then they have ones that no-one can figure out

  • most of their tricks should be able to be figured out, as they show you how they are done lol

  • Not all of them

  • true, but this is a previous knowledge one... sinch to figure out :D

  • How does it work?

  • It's called a Bologna Bottle

Heat it up, cool the inside quickly and the outside slowly.

The outside is really strong but the inside isn't, when you rattle around the screw or whatever it is they have in the bottle it scratches the inside and breaks the bottle.

  • black people are funny

  • "It was like a little orgasm."

In this video: girls who have never had a real orgasm? Seriously, WTF?

    And LOL at Teller's screaming!

  • Haha, yea, good luck with replicating the trick that way =)

  • I about pissed myself when teller started make that noise.

  • ha funny

  • @dougadams19567 I spat up all over my laptop XD

  • bologna bottle

  • im retarded, can someone tell me how it works

  • The exterior is generally strong enough that one could pound a nail into a block of wood using the bottle as a hammer, however even a small scratch on the interior would cause it to crumble.

It is created by heating a glass bottle then slowly cooling the outside whilst rapidly cooling the inside. This causes the external strength and internal stress such that even a scratch on the inside is sufficient to shatter the bottle.

  • @jewbilee666 but how the monkeys mother do you cool it like that

  • @jewbilee666 nice wikipedia quote

  • @jewbilee666

yes but how do you accomplish the heating/cooling?

    water? torches?

  • @zencat999 Oven

  • @jewbilee666 dude...saw yer page....kwei, kwei......priceless!

msg me private to talk about this bottle thig. the real prosess.

I would like to know but as a magician it would be better to talk in private about it.

get back to me on my page. cheers&aloha

    matt

  • @jewbilee666 does that work with any bottle, or only special bottles that have gone through the slow/fast cooling?

  • @vlax42 only special bottles that have been prepared in advance

  • @jewbilee666 yo thanx dude ill see if i can do it

is the best way to prepare it fiill and dunk it in boilling water then fill it with cold water?????????

  • @jonjon989898

Good luck dude, its pretty hard afaik!

I don't know how to make em, sorry, so you'll have to figure out the correct temperatures.

  • @jewbilee666 thanx ill just experiment a bit

  • lol

  • Why is there christmas music at the end?

  • OMGWTFROFL

  • Resonance

  • The bottle is heat treated to induce stress and the glass shaking inside propagates small cracks.

  • It was like a little orgasm,!

    lol

  • lol this magic is for slow people

  • Wow, I can't believe how impressed people are with this. It's a pretty simple principal dealing with crystalline structures - in this case, glass. We used to do this in high school with beer bottles all the time, as a bet at parties. Take a Grolsh bottle, give it to a jock, and tell him to try to shatter it against a wall. They invariably hit it with the bottom rim against dry wall, and punch through the wall. Then you take it and tap the sides lightly against a curb, and -BAM!- bottle smashed.

  • Glass is amorphous, not crystalline

  • @redmenacenow fail

  • We do this all the time for making bottle tokers or chimmeys! ;-)

  • Yeah, again, for the people who just assume... as Nickolas said, it's a Bologna Bottle. The trick is the bottle, not what goes in it.

  • resonance.

  • This is a MAGIC EFFECT only if you can RESTORE the broken bottle. Otherwise everyone sees the bottle broken when the bottle really is broken. Why is this an illusion??

  • I'm guessing pressure. Penn puts his finger in the bottle rather than shaking it as hard. You see right before it shatters at the bottom he jugs his finger into the neck of the bottle.

  • He. It's simple physics, actually. You see, glass naturally vibrates at a given frequency; everything does. Whatever they drop in the bottle produces a wave of the same frequency when it's vibrated against the glass. Since the frequencies are the same, they combine (imagine coaligning and adding 2 sine waves together) and the resulting vibration, combined with the weaker interior of the bottle, allows it to shatter at the slightest stimulus. Heh.........

  • you make a video of you doing it

  • it either has to do with the frequency of vibration, or the thing the drop in is dense and sharpe, causeing the glass to break. it clearly has something to do with what they drop in the bottle

  • really? you must be quite clever.

  • Completely false, that's not how they did it.

  • Nope! Nothing to do with resonance! Look a few comments below :)

    Daz x x

  • @shyguymt

Its amazing how if you type something on youtube in a way that looks like you know what you're talking about, people will give you thumbs up, even though you really have no idea.

  • Forget the trick...nice ta tas at :53 to :56. :)

  • A Bologna bottle has great external strength,

The exterior is generally strong enough that one could pound a nail into a block of wood using the bottle as a hammer, however even a small scratch on the interior would cause it to crumble.

It is created by heating a glass bottle then slowly cooling the outside whilst rapidly cooling the inside. This causes the external strength and internal stress such that even a scratch on the inside is sufficient to shatter the bottle

  • the sound vibrations from the metal inside the bottle makes it break..

  • at 5:26 shiit

  • if anyone really knows what teh fuck do theyput inside teh bottle i'd appreciate it if you could tell me!!

  • It is the sound

  • haha. "its better than 'Gigli'"

  • Jesus, you're stupid.

  • explaine it to me! i don't know! guess i am stupid! You want to say that sound frequency brakes it than try it yourself! If you realy know how it's done, tel me

  • Glass is hard but very brittle. You can whack it against something and not break it because the force is distributed across a wide area of the bottle. But bring a lot of force against a very small area and glass will shatter. That's why a tiny bit of kicked-up gravel will shatter a windshield -- or why a small metal bee bee rattled around fast enough back and forth inside a glass bottle can shatter it.

    NMS

  • Go try it. Stick a BB in a bottle and rattle it around. It's not going to break. There is another secret working here. Most magicians don't know about this. I know it, but I am not going to say anything. I will say this though... it's a lot of set up!!

  • The bottles are pre-prepared by the manufacturer who sells them by the case. There is no set up on the part of the magician.

  • There is if you how to set them up yourself. Which I do, and it's not something I am going to do. Because I don't have what is needed, nor do I want to clean up the mess when it goes wrong.

  • i think youre right, i thought the same coz the only thing that could brake the bottle is that metal piece...

and 'IF' it is his 'mind powers' then why does he use the metal???

  • are you out of nursery yet?

  • why Professor injection??

  • haha you're about as funny as cancer

  • Girl at 55seconds was HAWT

  • looks like an expanding rod is put in there.

  • It's almost Prince Rupert's drop as applied to blow molded bottles.

  • WTF?! "It was like a little orgasm"

  • She's easy.

  • "It was like a little orgasm."

    What the fuck?

  • whats the thing they put in teh bottles?

  • This is easy to do. Great way to make a glass hooter if you do it with a 40.

  • Which is in the video..

haha.. i didnt watch the vid until after i worte that comment.

  • He has something on his finger that he presses that makes a high frequency noise, that WE cant hear..

The frequency thus breaks the bottle..

It was demonstrated on The Best Damn Sports Show Period a few years back.

  • was the thing a explosive?

  • One very strange thing is the bottle IMPLODES rather than explodes!

That's why no one gets cut.

    Interesting.

    Thanks!

  • Fucking egotistic bastard. Can even get his articles right.

  • an college course of an english would benefit you in an better way that we could understands betters what's you are saying

    p.s. Burzum sucks

  • ROFL!!!

Alright.. Well, I posted that shit 2 months ago and now I know its not the correct method.. And I still dont know the method cause i dont give a damn shit about it.. ANyways, I thought it was a BB gun or something like that

  • WTF

were you just faking bad english or are you a really quick learner???

    p.s. Burzum still sucks

  • I dont know actually =/

Maybe I am.. Who knows? xD

  • how would you actually heat the ordinary glass bottle and cool in from the inside differnetly from the outside? thanks

  • could be ice

    from inside

  • think about how glass is made, it's blown. if there is any circulation of air on the inside from blowing it will cool quicker... even if it is only slightly, it's enough for something like this. it's not prepared by the magician, it's how the bottle s made

  • it's prepared.... the bottle is heated up and then cooled down slowly on the outside and fast on the inside... but there seemes to be no one who knows how to heat and cool the bottle....it´s a classic physics demostration...

  • The coolest muteactor ever, unless counting the mutefilms, then chaplin of course would be ;)

  • The "trivk" is to get the glass that the bottle is made out of to resonate at it's specific frequency. It's a fairly simple physical phenomenon. The piece of metal they put inside is what taps and starts the soundwaves in the structure of the bottle and end up breaking it when they achieve the frequency and intensity required. I think it's a great trick!

  • it is not a trick bottle, and if you have bought one claming to do this, you wasted your money. it is a science trick, no slieght of hand-no trick or gaffed bottles

  • but how can i make the bottle, That's what i want tyo know I don't care how much it is, i care about makeing the bottle and what the procidure is. they even said they made it so much money because they didn't want anybody to know the secret to the real trick and they paid penn and teller and some other guy to preform the trick. They also said in the desciption when you run out of bottles and show you how to make you own and it can work on any bottle.

  • if anyone knows how to do this please reply with and explanation, PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was shown this as a kid as a sort of physics demo. Know how you can cut glass by scoring it and then tapping on the score/scratch? That's all it is. It doesn't cut clean because the scratches the nail makes are not contiguous or clean, but it's *just like cutting glass*

  • inside is brittle, outside is tough. If you want to argue with someone online, know what you're talking about. Its a Bologna bottle. wiki it.

  • zuroph just owned your whole life.

  • Maybe you ought to learn something about glass, eh chief?

  • Teller is so cute. <3

  • lol

somebody has a crush on a mute guy !!!

    ^-^

  • Quite so. :3

  • its a bottle that, in the process of making, is cooled on the inside but not the outside. By this, a surface tension disparity makes the bottle extremely resilient on the outside, but the slightest scratch on the inside makes it shatter.

  • FINALLY!! He said something!!

  • cool trick, its like tempered glass, it can with stand large hits, but a quick little sharp hit will shatter it, the thing they dropped in had a tiny metal spike shoots out shattering the base. Look up car window glass breakers, it runs on the same principal.

  • how is it done?

  • Google: UIUC Bologna bottle

  • like ruperts pearls.. all fun and games until someone get's glass lodged in their eyeball..Make sure you're insured if you perform this one..

  • Bologna bottle--that's what I was trying to remember the name of.. same deal, 7th grade science class.

  • i'm not avin it no fukin way is that possible

  • wewt for teller :3

  • hahahaha. gotta LOVE Teller.

  • HAHHAHA, Teller is hilarious

  • Thats really cool and i am a huge Penn and Teller fan aswell :)

  • Teller is so adorable. Ohmygosh.

  • Agreed.. ^_^ That was great

  • Await the many, many, many comments about how that is or is not Teller actually making noise.
