  • hey universal remake it please

  • wat

  • This Movie is trash as fuck. Seriously I have never seen such a weird movie...

  • I remember watching this as a kid, I think this movie made me gay!

  • Didn't know the film was released by Universal Pictures?!

  • Yuppers ,, Flash Gordon was the QB for the NEW YORK JETS .

  • Flesh Gordon was better

  • Way over the top and I love it.

  • ChanceRooney7 called kids my age idiots but spelled "cereal" wrong haha.

This movie was awesome and I'm 19. Dig the old school.

  • What exactly was the creature at 0:54, wonder what would have been left of flash if the creature had not been killed.

  • Flash Gordon 4ever!! Queen soundtrack 4ever!! matter of the heart

  • Kids under 25 are so fucking stupid. The effects are SUPPOSED to look fake...like the "Flash Gordon" MOVIE SERIAL. IDIOTS!

  • @ChanceRooney7 Dude, I'm a seventeen year old and I freaking love it. Want to know why the hallway scene near the end of Terminator is so freaking creepy? It's that slight kink in the special effects. Salvation WISHES it could live up to it, but it really can't.

  • @ChanceRooney7 The effects in this movie actually weren't bad for the time it was made. They're things like mattes, blue screens, and miniature models, .. techniques which were pretty up-to-date and common and were used in every other sci-fi flick during this period in history. No computer effects though .

  • How about a remake? Same soundtrack!

  • @puttrid your the 8th person to ask for a remake, they are remaking it apparently its gonna be a shit load more violent to

  • This movie is my childhood!!!!..They dont make movies like this!!!..And the music of QUEEN,,,Great!!!

  • Every Monday is movie night at our MicroPenis clinic and this is one of our patients' favorite movies. RIP Dino Delaurentis

    Dr. Alexander Roth, D.P.

Family Medical Center - Proudly Serving The MicroPenis Community Since 1988! (TM)

  • Flash Gordon is my favorite movie before Star Wars

  • "I like to play with things awhile before anhilation" ........oooook then.

  • Comment removed

  • Dino Delaurentiis RIP

  • Timothy Dalton! 1:32

  • thee planet....EARRRTH!

  • @SmokeDef007

hahahahahah your comment cracked me up!! THANKS,

    I needed that. LOL

  • Undoubtedly the greatest film of all time. Godfather shmodfather.

  • go flash go lmao

  • love the soundeffects. ziooong zuuush... lool

  • If I was Ming...I would nail my daughter every night.

  • Was that Brian Blessed? I think I recognised the size of his mouth...

  • I hope this film will never be remake specially with crappy CGI effects and bad ass actors who actully look stupid, don't destroy this movie like clash of the titans and many others, don't destroy my childhood

  • @mellegasalpajaro Well, I dont know if your aware of it, but THIS movie was a remake itself! Before this movie was made, Flash Gordon was comic strip, a film serial, an animated series,.. there was even an earlier porno version ( titled FLESH Gordon )!

  • @mellegasalpajaro Amen! The clash remake will never live up to the original movie. The best part in the movie was the cameo from boo-bo.

  • i remember seeing the movie as a child.

didn't remember it to be so crappy... gotta watch it again someday...

and didn't that blond guy play in the rocky horror picture show?

  • @liquidminds No, I dont think so,.. but Richard O'Brien ( Rif Raff in RHPS ) does hapen to have a part in this flick.

  • @Skulldini i guess you're right. watching it again I can see it too.

Probably the "blond muscle guy with dumb expression in the face" was to much of a coincidence for my brain to trick me into believing that.

    thx for your comment.

  • this is the weird-freaking crazy- interesting thing i have seen so far

  • Pathetic earthlings, who can save you now? FLASH! F**KING EPIC!!

  • FLASH!!!! AHAAAAAAAA! Savior of The Universe!!!!!

  • I to jest jeden z tych filmów, które powinny powstawać!!! XDDD

  • this movie sucks ass

  • @LedZeppQueenBeatles And your very articulate!

  • @Skulldini what the fuck?

  • does this have anything to do with the flash from justice league? you know, or the dc comics?

  • @theshortcurlyguy No. that's "The Flash", and he has super-speed, and like you said is owned by DC Comics. Flash Gordon is a pulp sci-fi character created in the 30s, and enjoyed serial treatment in the 30/40/50s as well as this film.

  • lol i love the "Music by Queen" at the end there. As if we didn't know. Their superb title theme sold this camp 80s sci-fi classic

  • activate war rocket ajax

  • That man was ONE sorry actor!

  • awesome, brings back fond childhood memories wtatching this countless times

  • wow i was searching up low budget ultra gore films and i get this. now thats a good sense of humour, youtube. nice work

  • @CaveofTwoLovers Hey, this is about as campy and outrageous as any Hershel Gordon Lewis flick.

  • GO FLASH GO!!!!

  • I read somewhere that the Flash Gordon comics was what inspired Star Wars creator George Lucas. Cheesy as it may be, I still prefer to watch this movie over any

Star Wars or Star Trek film any day. This movie is fun, sexy, and the music rocks!!!

  • @dbriffraff1977 Gene Roddenberry created Star Trek, not George Lucas...apples and oranges mate

  • I hope Flash Gordon does come back. The character has been around for generations. This version was based largely on the serial from 1936. There was a Cartoon Satruday mornings when I was kid. I don't think the Sci-Fi channel series did it justice, but at least they gave it a shot. Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers were heroes from my Dad's time that he got to share with me through new movies and I'd like to see them continue.

  • He saved every one of us!!!!

  • The very first movie I ever saw in a theater was Flash Gordon! Flash Gordon was and is still, awesome! [An all-time classic space opera!] :}

  • I remember missing this in theatres as a kid and I was really upset and then my friend's dad got it on BETAMAX! We watched the tape almost every time he visited his dad until we were teens.

  • favourite movie ever!! flash.......aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

  • Great Movie, i love it.

Lots of Things that 'de Laurentis'' produced whrere Great.

    And then the Queen-Music, awesome.

  • I hope that Hollywood does NOT make a remake of this movie. Then there will be trouble....lots of it.

  • GO Flash GOoo ^^

  • Kickass special effects! My jaw hit the floor lol.

  • Flash Gordan, Mandrake the Magician, Lothar, and The Phantom deserve more respect than superman, batman, spiderman, and iron man.

  • Muy bien trailer, ademas con la música de Queen, lo maximo, gracias por subirla y con buena calidad, vaya que da ganas verla.

  • This movie's got a giant set of balls! It's timeless and I love it!!

  • Queen's music for this movie is a masterpiece.

  • For the effects back in the 80s what would people expect? Of course this version is cheesy. I don't care how much CGI has improved, come 2012 for the NEW release, THIS (80s) version will still be the best.

  • Certainly beats the crap out of that shitty series on the Sci-Fi channel

  • I fuckin hate the word "cheesy". CGI effects had actually stoped impressing me a long time ago. The only movie in which they'd ever really wowed me over was Terminator 2 ( with that liquid metal cyborg ),.. that was back in 1992 . Since then I haven't been impressed by them again at all.

  • @Skulldini ..."When you create an effect the effect should be apart of the script, apart of the story. You don't just create an effect to wow the audiance." -Christopher Lambert_ on the set of Mortal Kombat.

SInce then I've watched films to see which have effects that are apart of the story and which were made to "wow" the audiance... about 90% were made to just wow people. I agree 100%... T2 is a PERFECt example of what CL was talking about. The effect was APART of the story.

  • @Skulldini FUCK YEAH! GO TERMINATOR!

  • watch avatar on imax in 3d and tell me you're not impressed lol

and yes i havent enjoyed much either since Terminator 2, cept maybe a few war films like saving private ryan or braveheart

  • camper than a row of tents

  • hahaha I shall remember that one

    5 star comment.

  • this movie wasnt that bad! i remember watching it on channel 11 when i was a kid! i like it better then star wars!

  • Hans Zarkov is the savior of the universe !!!

  • What are you talking about?

Flash is not only the saviour of the universe but also a miracle and king of the impossible and He saves with a mighty hand every man every woman every child and pure at heart he may even find the Golden Grail. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Flash

  • That Sci Fi Channel Galactica-like remake of this version was CRAP! You can't beat the sexy camp of the original!

  • this was a corny movie, but a classic! its one of those goofy ones that works. great cast! love the sound track by Queen. Max von Sydow said this was actually his favorite movie he had made because of the costumes he got to wear and everyone had such fun making it!

  • This was a really corny movie, but the soundtrack was excellent.

  • kala super sexy woman!!! she is a great italian singer!

  • Comment removed

  • wasn't flash the quarterback for the new york jets before becoming savior of the universe?????

  • In this version yes, but his background changes with each new reimagining. In the 1930's version for example, he was the son of a famous scientist and in the odius sci-fi channel series, he's a car mechanic

  • @ganus4life yes

  • Awesome trailer

  • looks so fuckin epic!

  • aint that the geezer out of the exorcist?

  • Yes... lol... not many people pick up on that.

  • Ming the Merciless pulls the pilots out of the cockpit during the minor eclipse with the meteor storm.

  • I am Flash Gordon, lol

  • Flash is Pete Ross's dad?

  • "Klytus, I'm borrrred..."

    Awesomation!

  • they need to try and remake this movie...with the effects we have today...this movie would be completely badass!!!

  • I wish they still made more good old fashion movies like this. Along with the great music that comes with it. labelashavoc (:~>?=

  • Ming looked very much like Anton LaVey.

  • Now that's what you call a sci-fi movie

  • So cheesy! But I like cheese. tongue in cheek, to be sure, but reminicent of old-style serial adventures. Classic!

  • Brian Blessed's finest hour. Didn't the bad guy act in films with that art director Bergman . What happened there? Probably needed a new fridge.

  • HAIL MING

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!

It's a REAL shame that there werent sequels to it.

  • I really should see this movie, cause I liked the original movie, and on voyager LT. Paris and Ens. Harry Kim would play act on the Hollodeck an approximation of this campy but great Movie.

  • I HIGHLY recommend it!

Unlike ALOT of films, it's INTENTIONALLY cheesy, and it's GREAT!

  • holy balls! its been ages since i watched this movie. i remember a few of the scenes shown in the trailer

  • I like this movie because of the soundtrack, otherwise it sucks.

  • the only thing good 'bout this movie is the music!(queen rulz!)

  • It's so bad it's bad.

  • This movie was bottled lightning. Nothing like it will ever happen again.

  • I can only hope!!! :)

  • uy q clasico de pelicula la vi mas o menos como a los ocho años de edad y mas nunca la volvi a ver me la voy a descargar... gracias por el trailer..

  • I loved this movie as a kid. Then I grew up and realized that it sucked. Now I can say with confidence that it's so bad, it's good! (in a Xanadu sort of way)

  • I don't think it sucked. When I was like 4 I also thought the movie was great specially the part when Flash had to put his hand on that log with the critters I was scared to death.

You know they used those effects on porpoise they wanted to vividly exprese the comics in all its golry and fuse them with hte 1930s series.Every costume, every building, every light in the movie reenhances the moment and what you are feeling. Now I see it as a complex and underrated work of art.

  • Sort of like Creepshow. In an age with cutting edge FX techniques like Poltergeist, The Thing and The Exorcist, Creepshow kept it simple, but effective.

  • Yeah, and they both have that comic book thing goin too, dont they ( Creepshow and this flick that is ) ?

  • ¿Porque quitaron de Youtube la película completa?

  • awesome movie, awesome soundtrack :D

  • I saw this at the movies when I was 11 years old! Great fun.

  • Yeah, this movie is great!

  • I saw it for the first time when I was 10 at school in the assembly hall on the projector screen. We all thought it was great fun.

  • omfg.................. i was about 8-9 when my father show me flash movie.this bring me back memories. any one know where i can down load the full movie ? plz reply or sent me smg

  • How does he get into that world again? I vaguely remember him being a regular guy just sitting in a car, and then some hailstones or something start falling, then he gets whisked away somehow? Or am I mistaking it w/ something else?

  • He is on a plane with Dale when they start to have hhil. Then the pilots get sucked out and they land the plane in a corn field. They find Hans Zarkof and they get aboard his ship. It takes off and then they get pulled to Mongo.

  • The scenery and special effects kind of reminds me of the movie "Barbarella."

  • FLASH FLAAAAAAAAAAASH

  • I haven't seen this movie since I was in kindergarten, so I forgotten a lot of stuff. I'm not saying the movie was bad, but the scene @ 0:59, where Dale Arden is cheering Flash on looked really cheesy. LOL

    "Go, Flash, go!"

  • GRANDEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember watching this as a kid...My how times have flown.

  • Can you say: "Awesome!?!?" Man, this trailer brings back memories. I was about 6 or 7 when I saw Flash Gordon... Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

  • Vastly superior quality compared to the earlier uploads. I still recall the TV spots that screened in 1980. Aged 6, I so desperate for my mum to take me to see it!

  • Very good quality upload. I luv the camp of all this. They should do a remake of Flash and Barberella saving the Earth. 5* Blessings +++ The Saint +++

  • Go, Flash, go!! you are os cool=)

  • great, fun film. this is the film that lucas wanted to make. but it inspired him to make star wars.

    klytus was funny.....with pleasure.

  • great, fun film. this is the film that lucas wanted to make. but it inspired him to make star wars.

    klytus was funny.....with pleasure.

  • total classic film.......love it!

  • I loved this movie so much when I was little. My dad had the LP record of the soundtrack and I could practically recite all of the key scenes by heart before I was 5. Ming is such a pimp in this movie, with his army of bliged-up soldiers and Timothy Dalton is badass as Barin... Best of all to me at least, is Brian Blessed as Voltan. Say it with me now: Squadron forty... DIIIIIIIIVE!!!

  • Iwant to see the movie

  • Great flick to smoke to, serious.

  • Greatest movie.

    Music by: Queen.

  • opening lines sampled in the orb's 'earth gaia'

    great clip thanks a lot

  • I got his autograph TODAY

  • ....MIng would have to attack the Earth the one day there's no clouds in the sky... anywhere.

  • come on, this movie was made in 1980, in that time it wasn´t possible to put clouds when a special effect was made

  • are you sure about that....?

  • This is a great trailer - I used to have in on an old VHS tape. glad to see it here.. I'm not buying that new "saviour of the universe" DVD because this trailer isn't on it. Thanks for posting ( and where did you find it?)

  • I believe he got it from the Region 2 PAL UK Silver Anniversary Edition (which I also own.) I also own a great PAL-to-NTSC player which is the Oppo 971H.

  • thanks!

  • Go, Flash, go!

  • i loved the soundtrack and the movie. i liked this trailer than the one on the "saviour of the universe" edition.

this place is a lunatic asylum. -flash gordon

  • This trailer is better than the one that appears on the special edition DVD.

  • Fast becoming a camp classic.

"please don't empty my brain. I've spent a lifetime trying to fill it."

  • Flash! HE SAVED EVERYONE OF US!

  • Flash - I love you! But we only have 14 hours to save the Earth.

  • Best soundtrack EVAR

  • flesh gordon was a better movie

  • Admit it, you yanked it to Princess Aura... :P

  • lol "go, Flash, go!".

Wow... the things you can do with a $700 special effects budget. What a queer trailer.

  • This was a lovingly redone update/tribute to a serial- a series of shorts, that enticed patrons to return to movie theaters every week to see the continuation of Flash Gordon's adventures. Flash then returned as an early morning/nightly 2-3 a.m. treat to fellow insomniacs and those working second shifts. Yes it does have some "interesting" acting, cheesy special effects and comical dialogue but that's due to its low budget originations as a serial with Buster Crabbe as Flash.

  • It's the nicest weather the Earth has ever had!

  • Fellow Mst3k fan

  • Notice how big Japan is?

  • Heh. Farked and no comments yet? Ohy.

Loved this flick, campy though it may be.
