@ MyCelticHeaven: if you saw the show you'd know that control of the plane was transferred to Sully when he said "My aircraft" to the co-pilot, and the co-pilot replied "Your aircraft". Only one person can be in control of the jet at a time, and Sully was the man at the helm when the plane ditched. If he hadn't landed it so skillfully, all the passenger prep in the world wouldn't have saved as many lives as he did. While the rest of the crew performed admirably, he is the true hero.

Still All the crew contributed to saving all the lives of the pax ya sully landed the plane but he didnt couldnt have gone through the 3 page check list and ins tructed the pax to get their heads down and evacuate them all by himself ! He is not the Hero by himself the crew of 1549 are all "Heros" togeather plural !

You'll have to blame TLC's editing for this. In all of the interviews by Sully that I've ever listened to, he has given much credit to his co-pilot. The clip here doesn't give all of the information. I watched this show and not only does Sully talk about the co-pilot but he is featured on the show as well. It's always wise to have all the facts at hand before making an accusation.

Who was I accusing? All i was saying was you never hear in any of the media about the co pilot, ever!!! its good that Sully mentions him then. wow relax dude

I agree with you kindgwoody2. There was a CREW that landed this plane safely, not one man on his own. There was a cabin crew also that needed to keep passengers calm and get them ready also. They all deserve kudo's. With Sully having the glider background.. that is what seemed to be the life saving difference.

yeah he a great pilot. seriously any pro commercial pilot with the same situation could have done this guarented. add boats wind change and waves to sullys flight and the outcome would have been much differant. the thing is hes the first so there going to ware the wheels off this. he is a hero but man come on its over lets go on....
