  • This performance was from Jazzbaltica 2002 in Germany :)

  • I'm searching for the full version of this. Where the performance was, when, anything to get this video. Can anyone enlighten me?

  • danilo perez is a great musician and a very kind person!

  • Brian Blade is the most expressive and colorful drummer I've ever heard. I'm lucky as hell to have seen this quartet live recently.

  • I saw this quartet earlier this year at the Sydney Opera House.... I still havent been the same since.... Definatly one of the most amazing concerts ive ever seen.....

Id hate to be one of Brian Blades cymbals....

  • Bitchin!!!

  • @adiddlePar HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...PERFECT!!!!!

  • I just saw Brian Blade and the fellowship three days ago. Incredibble. His drumming was out of this world and he even wrote some of the songs

  • Brian Blade is UNBELIEVABLE! Just saw him last night at the Rose Theatre in NY with John McLaughlin and Chick Corea. He blew me away! Freakin Amazin!

  • I saw them in Austin! Out of this world.

  • Wow, that's a helluva combo!

  • wish that wasn't sold out when i tried to buy tickets. but on the subject of this video. These 4 play extremely well together.

  • that was amazing

  • Saw these guys in Philly. The concert opened up with Wayne whistling. It was great and they played for about 1 hour and then 1.5 hours straight. Patitucci definately was driving the band in a lot of instances.

  • fuck! they played at berklee!!!?? ahhh fuck. at least i got to see them at newport

  • We are just so lucky that the three "young" ones were born in time for Wayne to pick them up and create... this...

  • smoking, does any body know what the song is called or which album it's from?

  • "Over Shadow Hill Way." it's on Beyond the Sound Barrier.

  • Brian Blade is a monster! ( ^ _ ^ ) Holy smokes! I like seeing him play the drums! This guy is awesome!

  • Im so thankful to have seen these guys. Toronto, Massey Hall, December 5th.

  • Caught that show as well. What an intense but tasty 1.5 hrs. I thinks Brian Blade stole the show. Jaw dropping performance

  • Yeah Blade was absolutely outstanding on that date. Explosive.

  • I was there as well. Absolutely incredible show. They were all amazing, but especially Brian.

  • I am to see this band tomorrow night at the Berklee Performance Center. Tony is dead. Elvin is dead. I need a new inspiration. Brian Blade may be that man.

  • I was at that show. If you didn't get any inspiration from that, you are a lost cause, haha. Most powerful show I've ever seen.

  • Danilo Perez is performing in London at the Barbican on Sunday!!

  • Wow watching and listening to Brian Blade is like a move of nature. Hurricane or somethin..

  • i close my eyes and i feel like dropped in the jungle ... it's like movie making on a drumset ( plus the oppressing piano tone .. awfully delicious )

  • haha yeah I know. I just kinda threw that out there. One thing for sure is that Brian is a damn good drummer. One of my favorites.

  • Probably Wouldn't drill holes... My bad..

  • Dam i love Shorter's Soprano tone, I've never heard anyone sound even close to that.

  • pretty sure its a spizzichino

  • The way Brian Blade starts this solo is so out and creative. I wish I had a quarter of his talent and creativity.

  • he looks like max roach

  • he looks like barack obama

  • Brian Blade for president!

  • Now that we know that it is posible let's popose him! It'd be so great to have a leader like him... a great artist.... I'm Mexican, yet i'd vote for him if he were Mexican, hehe. Peace!

  • what kind of ride cymbal is brian using there?

  • Hi, I was lucky enough to meet Brian after he used my drumset on a gig. I have a picture of him holding the ride tom. He signed the drumhead, "thanks for the Ludwigs" His ride at that time was an old K Zildjian with cracks and holes drilled to stop the cracking. I bet he found that in New Orleans. It's a beautiful cymbal.

  • I bet he made it...

  • Do you mean, you think he crafted it with his own two hands? Got the metal. heated it. hammered it. and signed it with Zildjian?

  • Ha.. No... But he probably drilled the holes into it himself. But if it's like an old Turkish Zildjian than he probably would drill holes or put rivets in it.

  • i love it when Blade goes into 'ultra-funk' mode

  • Oh my... three of the greatest alive jazz musicians... This is so inspiring and beautifull.

  • I went to see them play, at the Barbican in London, tonight! Brian Blade was awesome, John Patitucci & Danilo Perez, I was not familiar with, but they were both incredible. Brian & John had a good connection bouncing of each other, whilst Danilo and the great Mr Wayne Shorter, smiled at their youthful enthusiasm........till, Wayne decided to "blow" them away.

  • What tune is this??

  • Over Shadow Hill Way. It's on Wayne's album "Beyond the Sound Barrier".

  • awesome!

  • brian blade is the man!!!

  • The best today. No group even comes close. Thanks for posting this!!
