  • That was freaking awesome

  • Bonham defines the tempo of the universe. To question him is folly.

  • fucking mad controller

  • whats the program u using is it serato scratch

  • @fluffypencil Traktor pro.

  • i'm sorry if i don't get this, but why does he check the loop against the master clock or another track? as long as the in- and out-points of the loop line up with the grid it just works.

  • google is the jesus, testing

  • the mix out is sick

  • hey nice

  • i'd prefer to meet jesus than ean golden

  • is there a grid on serato?

  • for a djing video the sound quality is shit.

  • @ooohmyhead Think its more about the techniques bra

  • "Now watch me ressurect these fresh beats"

  • that controller is looking sick with those arcade buttons.

what controller is it, and how do you do that?

  • The Father, Son and Holy Ghost teaching us mixing - awesome!

  • jesus didn't come back to judge good and evil, he came to teach us mixing, best religion evar!

  • There is a biography-song for Ean, its "God is a DJ" by Faithless ;)

  • led zeppelin

  • dj jesus

    respect

  • Jesus rocks the shit !!

  • I dont really know how to explain this, but i need help.

How do you do so you can hear the the 2nd turntable in the headphones but not on the speakers while the 1st turntable is playing? Please help (:

  • @tobiaserrboe You may get more help if you list the equipment that you are using.

  • @tobiaserrboe You'll need a second sound card to send the deck audio through. Pretty simple to setup if you go searching through the settings, and external sound cards can be bought super cheaply (thought they're probably not the most reliable pieces of kit.).

  • Is this Ean Golden?

  • I love your tutorials man, keep up the good work. I was wondering if anyone here knows how to record one square or rectangle of the monitor or he is just using Fraps and then cropping and editing after? sec 48.

    Anyone?

  • I love your tutorials man, keep up the good work. I was wondering if anyone here knows how to record one square or rectangle of the monitor or he is just using Fraps and then cropping after? sec 42.

  • hey does anyone think mixxx can be used for stuff like this effectively live?

  • Hi, at the end of the video, Ean mentions a video about Ableton. Was this ever created? Showing the professional way to edit them?

  • Epic!

  • Awesome beat juggling !

  • What kind of controller is that?

  • THIS WAS AWESOME . WHAT SOFTWARE IS THAT . AND WAT KIND OF TURNTABLE THAT LIL THINGS SICK. I REALLY WANA START SO IN REALLY INTERESTED.. I LIKE THAT EXACT SOUND U USE AND STYLE.. WHATS THE DIFFERENCE WITH THESE TURN TABLE AND OTHERS

  • @LamBofRicK calm down on the caps bro

  • NEVER confront Ean in a Street Fighter game ... NEVER!

  • at first I was like what is this guy doing, Traktor pro has much more to show then this, and then i saw the end of the video and i was like "wait he is kicking ass" nice job man

  • really helpful informative video!

  • lol at saying that anything where you use sync is advanced.

  • @RaynaDJ

because beat matching is the future?

  • @colecut no because it requires absolutely no thought or skill whatsoever.

  • @RaynaDJ

I guess that's true... but beatmatching itself isn't really an impressive talent...

after a few months of practicing you should be able to keep from trainwrecking.. and move on to things that can actually set you apart from others..

if you think two tracks in time with each other is 90% of djing, you're missing the point. you line up any two given tracks the same way every single time. great, you can do something extremely fundamental and generic.

  • @colecut yeah obviously its nothing special, but its still a big part of it. most of the time people use sync all they do is use a filter every 16 bars or loop something anyway, its hardly anything amazing. tune selection is the biggest part of dj'ing anyway, have all the filters and buttons you want but if you cant get a decent set of tunes together then you may aswell give up.

  • @RaynaDJ

    agreed

  • This guy is awesome but its sounds cluttered, wawawa, derderdillder, wawawa, derderdillder, I keep it coolin baby, wawawa, dang its like biscutts with too much gravy

  • Ableton Live my man

  • what pendulum song wats it it was bad ass

  • Great info, but that last mix was horrible.

  • @Cykull rofl....

  • thumbs up if you saw that bug in the beginning of the video that flies across the screen haha

  • what controller is that?

  • but you can warp it in ableton and then aply the grid right??? Shure it wouldn't sound so ''natural'' but while blending it i dont think much people would notice it...

  • That was amazing... You're a great teacher.

  • THE SECOND COMING of making dudes in frats go nuts at a party.

  • @hvylobster2 HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!

  • his fingers are so fast its like hes got parkinsons

  • @volunteermocha /watch?v=EG8BhO_zf5k hows that for parkisons??

  • If Jesus would be a DJ... It'd be he

  • That mix at the end was so sick

  • So if I'm just starting off, would a set from Best Buy work?

  • What software is this???????????

  • Comment removed

  • @TommyT3rr1ble Traktor

  • awesome mix at the end ..don´t get my mouth closed :O

    Big respect !

  • nice mixing with the cue points on the different voices...

  • how did u get there????????????

  • I learnt a cool trick... setup your songs... stop looking at the monitor... flip your records to change songs... enjoy and have fun the old fashion way :)

  • he is really look like jesus!!!!!!

    :-)

  • That was... sick!

  • nice

  • what hardware r u using on this video m8?

  • @PsyArch looks like a vci 100se with custom arcade buttons

  • this makes me feel like a retard, big time.

  • Pretty bad ass man.

  • cool

  • i think the method might be flawed.

or i could be doing it wrong.

the problem is with the mix out point. when I add the 2nd beat grid and adjust the mix out point it messes up the beat grid of the intro and the loop of the intro.

is there a way around this?

  • thumbs up this post if you think this guy looks like jesus.

  • @WallyMoney10 xDDDD

  • @WallyMoney10 I wished Jezus played like this

  • @WallyMoney10 when it comes to djing...he IS jesus

  • @safcftmtid not jesus but definitly one of the most creative heads in the dj scene !!

  • @WallyMoney10 Dude.. this is jesus! ;D

  • God is a dj...nuff said.

  • @WallyMoney10 Looks like jesus but actually is god!!

  • @WallyMoney10 he is jesus xD

  • @WallyMoney10 hes fuckin jesus, so he have to look like him.

  • nice!

    You revolutionize digital deejaying!

  • You are hereby awarded an honorary diploma in Beat Science lolol <3 Thanks for another video!

  • too bad traktor doesn't have a warping function like ableton live that would allow you to correct a "non-electronic song." you can't do it in traktor, but that doesn't mean it can't be done period. if you really wanted to mix the entirety of whole lotta love (for example) into a set, you could load the track in ableton, and move through the song setting marks on bonham's downbeats. mix it down and open it up in traktor. takes some time but i've done it with other songs and it sounds fine

  • i wish i wouldhave know this before sitting for hours tryin to figure it out on my own.. ha too late .. but thankss!

  • Now that was pretty sexy!

  • Holy shit Ean, never stop doing these videos.

  • skillz

  • damn , great job

  • Great article Ean but you can make a perfect loop much easier!

Beatgrid the section as you did with the beatmarker at the start of the loop, then beat-step ahead and set the loop end point that way?

Saves you having to mess with the master tempo tick to make sure the loop keeps in time, since your loop is matched with your beatgrid.

  • @psytube1980 Ya I was thinkin the exact same thing

  • @psytube1980 The problem with that is that the band doesn't keep constant tempo, and Traktor sets up beat grids under that assumption. Hence, the need to readjust the tempo and grids.

  • @psytube1980 yeh, but for the first time you gotta set the grid right with the master clock

  • @psytube1980 Doing that isn't professional

  • why my whole lotta love has 118 BPM?

  • dude traktor has fucked up 2 songs of mine, it made them mute and kinda like a loop D. i think i happened because of the cue points but im not sure, can anyone help?

  • damn ! that was SICK !!!!

  • where do i get a mix from you that was bad ass

  • what are tables are you using to mix?

  • @genarob31 Technics SL-1200 Mark II

  • this is amazing. I really liked the last part. Fantastic idea.

  • WHATTTTTT

  • The last 45 seconds, so rockin

  • thanks for this video :-)
