When on a boat, just get on one knee and do it over your leg. Or if it's CC with a big bow, put the net on the bow and just moved the leads over witrh the net sitting up high.

Wonder if this techinque would work on seven foot nets? In my state we are allowed seven foot length as a maximum. Anyhow, Captain John is the man with this technique. Plan to try it and see if it work.
i have used the line in teeth florida method or whatever you want to call it for pretty much my whole life, and this makes it SO much easier to throw over the sides of my boat without destroying my shoulder muscles. i still prefer the old way for small nets, but on anything 10' and up this is definitely the way to go.

I have watched the explosive action of this video at least 30 times, pausing it at half-second intervals during the actual swing, in order to analyze his technique.
Any chance, Cpt. John, you might be willing to give a slower, more detailed presentation? Heck, you could sell it--and I, for one would buy it.

This is the best cast net throwing video I have seen, and I have seen a few its so simple and fluid capt. john is really good
