a1/a3 4472 flying scotsman is not the original because it's had to many repairs and it keeps failing half the time

i got a feeling that the popularity of scotty will be taken over now that Tornado is out running up and down the mainline. I've seen Tornado, but have yet to see The Flying Scotsman, they have not yet bought it down on an excursion to or my local station, Plymouth

the flying scotsman is in the NRM York having an overhaul, they took shortcuts last overhaul that caused many problems, just so they could get it finished. you can go see her, but it is not recognisable. they are also repairing and using her A3 boiler, rather than the A4 boiler she was given last overhaul.

they estimate that they will be complete in 2010.
