I wanted to notify all fans of Eleanor Parker's that someone else and I are putting together a petition to the Academy to give Eleanor an Honorary Award. We aren't positive that this will work, but we have a strong desire to try. If you're interested, just leave a comment/message on my channel. It is very crucial to have as many people wanting this to occur, so if you know people that may be interested, please tell them. Thank you to all who are fans or interested in this great woman.
Hello everybody. My name is Sandra. I want to inform you that, along with another person, we are going to make a petition to the Academy in order to get Eleanor Parker a deserving Honorary Award. We don´t know if this is going to work, but we want to try. You can get in touch with me through my channel. It is very important to get as many people as we can, so if you know somebody who likes her tell him about this. Thank you very much.
One of my favorite actresses and surely one of the best of her time, not sufficiently recognized. All of her interpretations are flawless. She's simoly great!
After seeing on ABC tv;the 40thanniversay of "The sound of music"they invite Julie Andrews and all who played Trapp infants. They remember Christopher Plummer and they don't even mentionned Eleonor Parker. This make me so sad.But Thanks basilnelson for the tribute to the queen diva of Hollywood.
Happy Brithday to one of the most talented actresses to have come out of Hollywood. It's sad you were not appreciated in your time but now new generations are appreciating you. I hope you have a wonderful birthday with your family!!!!
Happy Birthday!!!!! To one of the most talented actresses to come out of Hollywood. It's sad you were not appreciated in your time but now new generations appreciate you and your talent. I hope you have a wonderful birthday with your family!!!!
She was/is a very underated actress. Beauty,Brains, Sex Appeal, and Very Talented. Very few people have it all , she did. I hope someday she gets the respect she deserves.
The exquisitely lovely and extraordinary actress. She should receive an oscar for her career. 'Caged' is the most powerful movie I have ever seen, and her interpretation is unmatched to this day.
Existe en mi familia la historia de que Eleonor Parker nacio en Puerto Cabello Venezuela y se llamaba Eleonor Guillen, hermana de mi abuela. si alguien sabe mas de esto escribalo por aqui
She was an exquisitely beautiful woman. I'll never forget her role in "Scaramouche." I could not believe that Stewart Granger would prefer Jamie Lee Curtis's mother to this magificent, passionate redhead.
I must agree with you. I thought she was more desirable in her mature role as the Baroness in the 'Sound of Music' than the younger and talented Julie Andrews.
Eleanor Parker is one of the great beauties in the history of film and a brilliant, versatile actress as well. She not only had talent and beauty but an inner loveliness and sensuality that comes forth in so many of her roles. She's one of the immortals in film history.
A truly classy very pretty lady with talent ! When I saw "Voice of the Turtle "[with Ronald Reagan ] I became a fan... Very few could shine in a closeup like the lovely Miss Parker! .Thanks for the video
Just wondering... why not a single photo of "the Baronness" from the SOUND OF MUSIC? Copyright problems? I was hoping there'd be at least one! :) I first saw her in "Eye Of The Cat."
Eleanor Paker was an impressively beautiful actress in Hollywood's golden ages. Her acting was remarkable in theatrical sense. I am truely glad to see her photos. Thank you.
Eleanor is retired at the age of 86 years. Her last screen appearance was in 1991. The music in the video is Ennio Morricone's 'Love Theme Fortunata'. Glad you enjoyed the tribute.
Thanks for the info. I have written to the Academy to lobby them for an honorary award. It probably will make no difference but at least its on their radar. Can you all do the same????
Yes as Baz stated Eleanor is retired. And a few years back when she was invited to participate in a documentary about Sound of Music she declined the offer. But last year she was interviewed at a Film NOIR festival thing in Palm Springs, California saw a pic of her at the event she looks as if she may have suffered a stroke but still looks quite good.
Yes, what is the music?? It is gorgeous and fits the piece perfectly!! Loved when you faded into color and then back to black and white. OK so where is a shot of Eleanor in The Sound of Music??? Great job!!!
I was so hoping that you would do this. Your tributes are beautiful! Eleanor Parker is one of my favorites; she is a woman whose acting talents are extraordinary.

@basilnelson: Absolutely! The Baroness is a thankless role, and Parker brought her off with dignity and grace.
