@Houshalter You're welcome, anytime. And I'm sure McCain would've done it better. FYI, they were just trying to get people involved, NO MATTER WHO YOU VOTE, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE AND YOU SHOULD. But yeah, it is so easy to blame the black guy in a country full of rednecks and sheets with holes.
@beleta83, No one has the right to vote. Do I have a right to kill you? No. So why on earth do I get the "right" to "vote" for someone to do it for me?
@Houshalter, I used mean words to response and I apologize for it. Let me please make my statement and maybe I'll make myself more understandable the first time around. Why is voting good again? Name one good thing that came about because of voting? If I want a politician that will desolve gov't and help bring about a techno anarchist state will my views be represented in the next election? Hell no... If I want this country to be a Religious fundamentalist theocracy will I be represented? Maybe. If I just want real reform will the corporate powers that be allow me to elect someone that will rock their boat. If a card game is rigged do you join in and play?
@elbowbiter1 WOW... lets just overlook for a moment the amount of tax payers money the US government has to spend just to get people to vote due to the absence of a compulsory voting system and consider just for a moment how lucky we are to live in countries where Democracy exists! If you would rather sit on the couch and watch TV all day than hall ass to the voting booth be my guest... But don't bitch when someone is elected who can take that power away from you! Ignorance is a bitch not bliss!
@rodstickles3 Where to begin? If Party A steals from Party C at the behest of Party B. You would contend then that Party A and C are innocent and party B got what he deserved and has no grievance? No? Well why is it true when it comes to voting? Well because you believe the propaganda you were shown regarding democracies. I think the way I do cuz I don't watch TV, sit around all day and complain. That's what voters do, nothing.
@rodstickles3 No, just bitch when the person you voted for turns out bad or the person that other people voted for turns out bad. Wait, wouldn't the latter kind of be like a non-voter bitching about the sociopaths that voters elect?
@rodstickles3, Democracy is mob rule. I am not thankful at all that my neighbors get to decide what I can do with myself and my property.
Voting implies giving your consent to the government, or at the very least the canidate you voted for. Therefore, if you voted you have no right to complain about what the government does.
@pokezeldafan It's not bad, but it is condescending. We're adults. We already understand the value of voting, and we don't need celebrities telling us how important it is.
very witty and very true. im sure some actors are very socially aware but so am i and i wasn't asked to be in a voting campaign so whats the difference: they are actors.
Politicians themselves are actor-like famous, they go on talk-shows and stuff, and i heard no one complaining about that. I mean, famous people use their image to do all sorts of things, not necessarily in their sphere. And that's because, whether you want it or not, they do have a certain influence on young people especially. And if it can bring young people to even considering voting and getting interested in politics, then i really don't see the problem.
Exactly, abortion RIGHTS, not pro choice, gun laws not gun CONTROL. They advocated the ability to make a decision based on the policies the individual may see fit. They aren't propagating their own beliefs, they simply said go out there, learn the facts and vote.
24 million youth voted this election, a sweepingly unprecedented amount, and it was because they were being notified and motivated by various organizations. Something I am sure the assholes in this video never thought to do at 18.

All of the Independents or whatever can vote on either day!

Republicans are just pissy cause no one cute wanted to speak about them. When they did finally get a pretty spokesperson she said "I can see Russia from my house!"
Is it just me, or does the younger looking Caucasian with the black fleece and blue undershirt look like the same guy who's in the LetFreedomRing commercials. I don't think this video is nonpartisan.
"what exactly is wrong about making an ad encouraging people to vote?"
What's wrong is that there's nothing sacred about voting. It's not the highest ideal. Liberty is the highest ideal. Democracy can protect liberty if it involves engaged, informed citizens. It doesn't protect liberty -- in fact, it threatens it -- when every Tom, Dick and Harry is voting simply for the sake of voting, as if casting a ballot is a sacred act unto itself.
Oh, yes. Let's all listen to the self ascribed smart person. Only "informed" citizens should be allowed to vote? It's that sort of thinking that quickly degenerates into an "all animals are created equal but some are more equal than others" Orwellian nightmare. You don't get to decide who is worthy of voting. This is a democracy. What you are describing is fascism. I'll pass.
Oh, yes. It's much better to let people who have no clue vote. Why not just flip a coin to decide who wins elections? Because if people are making uninformed decisions, I'd rather trust fate.
I think the point is that people who intend on voting should do it respnsibly, why got to the pulls and play eenie meenie miney mo? We all have the right to vote and the responsibilty to become informed and educated before casting that vote. Otherwise-what are we really voting for? What is the point?
ProjectDan, you're combating a strawman. I didn't say anything about "getting to decide" who votes. Indeed, "liberty is the highest ideal" counters your hapless "fascism" cry out of the gate.
Yes, this is a democracy. Everyone has, and should have, the right to vote. That's not the same, though, as saying we should actively encourage everyone to vote *just for the sake of voting*. There's no value in that. It doesn't service anything. Voting isn't the highest ideal.
Until I saw a the original "Don't Vote Video", I didn't even know I COULD vote. The Hollywood people have been telling me, for 8 years, that we live in a dictatorship. I thought we couldn't vote anymore. Dangit!!! ;)
Wow alright smart guy. First of all my "favorite videos" do not give you any insight on my intelligence and well I just looked at your website which made me laugh, and now I know why you're such a dick :)
yes, yes, I hate Hollywood too. The 5 friends thing had no effect on me for that reason.
But a pretty huge number of people are obsessed with celebrities, and for them the 5 friends thing might have actually inspired them to vote. I can't see how that's a bad thing, even if it might seem condescending.
Why are we shaming anyone for telling young people (a group infamous for saying they'll vote and then not bothering) to vote? If anyone made a video about that I would applaud them. It's wasn't condescending. How was it slanted towards Obama? Because they mentioned the war, womens' rights, and gay rights? They didn't tell you how to feel about those issues, did they? No. Stop being contradictory just for contradiction's sake.
Nice-great vid-much better than anything hollywood could throw out! Then again everything Ive seen out of Hollywood lately is pure garbage. Lmao-Voted cuz you told me to voted McCain Palin cuz I wanted to!
I always wait until Hollywood tells me who to vote for! Wait a minute...don't they always tell me to vote for Democrats? How could such deep thinkers ALWAYS come up with the same recommendation? Could they be a group thinking, head nodding herd? Maybe they are more beautiful than they are smart?Maybe they don't have a choice if they want work? Could be.

Who do you think paid for this piece of shit? Let's see, the A-listers simply said to vote, not vote for Obama, but to just vote. So, what's the fucking problem? I'll tell you what it is. Hollywood doesn't endorse McShame and Governor Sugar Tits and that upsets little Nazis like Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. Tough shit assholes. You fucking hypocrites have the endorsement of most HypoChristian churches and the Dems don't go crying about that so fuck off already.
Yeah, so what! The PSA was aimed at getting people to vote, period! Watch it again dickhead and tell me where they are forcing THEIR opinion down YOUR throat. Yeah, the MSM is biased and so is CNN and MSNBC. But so is 99% of talk radio and 100% of Fox News. Is it balanced? No, but so what! Unlike you, I think people can make up their own minds regardless of who Tom Cruise votes for. If it bothers you that Hollywood hates Republicans, I don't give a shit. Go cry to your fucking mommy.
Lol you're mad wooo. It's really easy to get when I prove you wrong. And I never said anything about the media but you're correct; conservatives get talk radio and Foxnews, that's what? 95% of the media. Back to the basement, oh dweller of said place. And wait in hope that your man gets in to office so you can get your welfare check. Go back and check your facts before you hurt yourself.
You didn't prove shit you nutsucker. Face it, you're pissed and jealous that Obama is going to hand the Repugnicans their collective asses on Tuesday and the media and the rest of the world will dance in the streets. So, you and Joe the unlicensed plumber can bitch and moan for the next 4 years...too bad...so sad. Now, why don't you take those typing hands of yours and go finger-fuck your mother.
RAGE! Go get some help seriously dude. Well maybe when ol' Barry gets into office he'll provide that for you. And all you can come up with insults that my 14 year old cousin can think up? That's awesome. Go be more original somewhere else.
And some part of me hopes Barrack Hussein Obama gets in so I can laugh in your face when his socialist agenda destroys our nation.
Joe the Plumber may not be licensed but at least he doesn't live in a basement.

They have to read for their job! Probably do know more than them! Hey, I have an idea...everyone in this video and everyone that thinks it is funny or in some way clever..DON"T VOTE!!!! Yeah! Good idea-you guys rock!! Don't Vote!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Yeah, you guys suck. All the actors in the video probably DO know more than you. Acting is their job you A-holes. They're still Americans (well, most of them were) and care about this country - a lot more than a lot of retards that are voting this year. F off.
Don't vote. Screw it. Stay home, you vote doesn't matter because it's not being counted ANYWAY. In fact, I encourage everyone TO register and then NOT vote on purpose, just so you can say you did participate, but then you're counted as someone who doesn't care to support either side of the corrupt government coin (McCain/Obama). You see, it's not that America doesn't care, it's that America KNOWS it's a lose-lose situation in the first place having either of these morons in office.
waterfew, you obviously don't get it. their video was serious yet entirely condescending. this video is clearly a parody and meant to demonstrate that no one needs a bunch of douchy celebrities telling them what to do.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
i don't care much for politics but i could understand that if you were planning to vote and you knew the steps to take to register and whatnot, then "don't vote" wasn't meant for you. stop getting huffy about it. if you were in the group who found "don't vote" informative and offensive, then wouldn't this video offend you as well for implying that you're an idiot for NOT knowing the information?
point being: both videos were rude and sent their message inappropriately.
Ahh thank you for making this. I cannot stand condescending celebrity political awareness crap. You get to be pretty, famous, and stupid. We get to be ugly, unimportant and smart. That's the unspoken deal between us, Hollywood.
those hollywoodians and their great words of wisdom get me every time. I better vote for a guy who is pro abortion, pro gay rights, pro environment, and has some great money fixing plan unlike whoever it was that was in charge before.... I wonder if they had some kind of underlying agenda for a specific candidate lol
I so like sarcasm... yeah... totally right? Who played the Sarah Silverman character in your video? Man I do not understand her... at all. Great job in showing how stupid hollywood people are. Except they're hot.
wow... i know 3 people in this video and i bet they don't know that i know the others...LOL small world! great vid guys! i especially liked maz's jump at the end!! that's so typical!! totally voting now!! McCain Palin OH EIGHT!!

maybe it's just me but what exactly is wrong about making an ad encouraging people to vote?
anakin11380 3 years ago
"what exactly is wrong about making an ad encouraging people to vote?"
What's wrong is that there's nothing sacred about voting. It's not the highest ideal. Liberty is the highest ideal. Democracy can protect liberty if it involves engaged, informed citizens. It doesn't protect liberty -- in fact, it threatens it -- when every Tom, Dick and Harry is voting simply for the sake of voting, as if casting a ballot is a sacred act unto itself.
TomMichaels101 3 years ago
I'll pass.
projectdan 3 years ago 2
Oh, yes. It's much better to let people who have no clue vote. Why not just flip a coin to decide who wins elections? Because if people are making uninformed decisions, I'd rather trust fate.
fasdak 3 years ago
I think the point is that people who intend on voting should do it respnsibly, why got to the pulls and play eenie meenie miney mo? We all have the right to vote and the responsibilty to become informed and educated before casting that vote. Otherwise-what are we really voting for? What is the point?
kellyknowles1 3 years ago
Kelly Knowles is right.
TomMichaels101 3 years ago
Until I saw a the original "Don't Vote Video", I didn't even know I COULD vote. The Hollywood people have been telling me, for 8 years, that we live in a dictatorship. I thought we couldn't vote anymore. Dangit!!! ;)
nikolai082700 3 years ago 4
great video. never listen to people who make their fortunes in the world of make believe. never. never. never.

People who make their fortunes in the world of make believe? You're kidding right?
You've got to be one of the most uneducated people on the plant. Congrats.
LeafyBaby 3 years ago
i would not assume that skippy. what is it that hollywood produces? nothing but make-believe BS. what do actors do? earn a buck playing make-believe.
did you really need me to explain it to you? LOL
spion1776 3 years ago
OK, i just looked at your "favorites" and have determined i have assigned waaaaaay too much intellect and value to your opinion.
spion1776 3 years ago
Wow alright smart guy. First of all my "favorite videos" do not give you any insight on my intelligence and well I just looked at your website which made me laugh, and now I know why you're such a dick :)
LeafyBaby 3 years ago
wow, you found it all by yourself or did mommy help you between Clay Aiken videos and that Dancin' with the Stars episode you recorded?
spion1776 3 years ago
hahaha you dumbass. I don't even like Clay Aiken, nor have I ever watched a single episode of dancing with the stars. That show is a joke.
As are you...
now... go to hell you dumb piece of Military shit.

i don't get it, what's the message?
thehymner 3 years ago
yes, yes, I hate Hollywood too. The 5 friends thing had no effect on me for that reason.
But a pretty huge number of people are obsessed with celebrities, and for them the 5 friends thing might have actually inspired them to vote. I can't see how that's a bad thing, even if it might seem condescending.
vanchuck 3 years ago
Well, actors and Islamic fundamentalists have one thing in common.
They both confuse memorizing lines with intellect.
elsid72 3 years ago
You are such an idiot...
LeafyBaby 3 years ago
Why are we shaming anyone for telling young people (a group infamous for saying they'll vote and then not bothering) to vote? If anyone made a video about that I would applaud them. It's wasn't condescending. How was it slanted towards Obama? Because they mentioned the war, womens' rights, and gay rights? They didn't tell you how to feel about those issues, did they? No. Stop being contradictory just for contradiction's sake.
projectdan 3 years ago
Nice-great vid-much better than anything hollywood could throw out! Then again everything Ive seen out of Hollywood lately is pure garbage. Lmao-Voted cuz you told me to voted McCain Palin cuz I wanted to!
canditaylor68 3 years ago
I always wait until Hollywood tells me who to vote for! Wait a minute...don't they always tell me to vote for Democrats? How could such deep thinkers ALWAYS come up with the same recommendation? Could they be a group thinking, head nodding herd? Maybe they are more beautiful than they are smart?Maybe they don't have a choice if they want work? Could be.
Sara123312 3 years ago

Who do you think paid for this piece of shit? Let's see, the A-listers simply said to vote, not vote for Obama, but to just vote. So, what's the fucking problem? I'll tell you what it is. Hollywood doesn't endorse McShame and Governor Sugar Tits and that upsets little Nazis like Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. Tough shit assholes. You fucking hypocrites have the endorsement of most HypoChristian churches and the Dems don't go crying about that so fuck off already.

sammarkie 3 years ago
Yeah, so what! The PSA was aimed at getting people to vote, period! Watch it again dickhead and tell me where they are forcing THEIR opinion down YOUR throat. Yeah, the MSM is biased and so is CNN and MSNBC. But so is 99% of talk radio and 100% of Fox News. Is it balanced? No, but so what! Unlike you, I think people can make up their own minds regardless of who Tom Cruise votes for. If it bothers you that Hollywood hates Republicans, I don't give a shit. Go cry to your fucking mommy.
dankenton 3 years ago
Lol you're mad wooo. It's really easy to get when I prove you wrong. And I never said anything about the media but you're correct; conservatives get talk radio and Foxnews, that's what? 95% of the media. Back to the basement, oh dweller of said place. And wait in hope that your man gets in to office so you can get your welfare check. Go back and check your facts before you hurt yourself.
sammarkie 3 years ago
You didn't prove shit you nutsucker. Face it, you're pissed and jealous that Obama is going to hand the Repugnicans their collective asses on Tuesday and the media and the rest of the world will dance in the streets. So, you and Joe the unlicensed plumber can bitch and moan for the next 4 years...too bad...so sad. Now, why don't you take those typing hands of yours and go finger-fuck your mother.
dankenton 3 years ago

Don't vote.
Zairik 3 years ago
waterfew, you obviously don't get it. their video was serious yet entirely condescending. this video is clearly a parody and meant to demonstrate that no one needs a bunch of douchy celebrities telling them what to do.

i don't care much for politics but i could understand that if you were planning to vote and you knew the steps to take to register and whatnot, then "don't vote" wasn't meant for you. stop getting huffy about it. if you were in the group who found "don't vote" informative and offensive, then wouldn't this video offend you as well for implying that you're an idiot for NOT knowing the information?
point being: both videos were rude and sent their message inappropriately.
waterfew 3 years ago
Ahh thank you for making this. I cannot stand condescending celebrity political awareness crap. You get to be pretty, famous, and stupid. We get to be ugly, unimportant and smart. That's the unspoken deal between us, Hollywood.

those hollywoodians and their great words of wisdom get me every time. I better vote for a guy who is pro abortion, pro gay rights, pro environment, and has some great money fixing plan unlike whoever it was that was in charge before.... I wonder if they had some kind of underlying agenda for a specific candidate lol
