  • Hurling is a great sport. I'm from the US and have no Irish in me, but they used to show games occasionally on TV here and I thought it was great stuff and wanted to see more, but they haven't shown it in years. Early professional baseball was dominated by Irish players (the Delahantys, Mike Kelly, John McGraw, Larry Doyle, etc.), and though hurling & baseball are nothing alike, I can see how a hurling background can lead naturally to baseball. I'd like to see more hurling on US TV.

  • UP THE DEISE

  • Some people are such idiots... I'm from Ireland, and, in my opinion, this is nothing like lacrosse. Apart from the grass thing... But it is very hard to see from the video the amazing and skillful sport that is is. So, if you haven't seen it in real life, don't pass remark thinking you're great.

  • Lol, Lacross isn't a version of this as much as hurling isn't a version of lacross... Lacross was created by natives in north america and hurling by the irish, just very similar... Please get educated before arguing

  • wait a fucking second... this is basically lacrosse

  • @Blackhawk5656 no but it seems that hurling looks at least 10 times as skilful, 5 times as tough and so much faster and more exciting, and without any gay padding and only a helmet that is like paper compared to that motorcycle one they use in lacrosse.

I have yet to see a greater game than hurling

  • @MrFocaleile im not here to fucking argue im entitled to my opinion

  • @Blackhawk5656 oh , so your entitled to your opinion but of course im not?

  • @MrFocaleile im sorry i over reacted. still in ways its lacrosse in other ways its not

  • @Blackhawk5656 it plays nothing like lacrosse but I can see how you'd make the comparison. Its a unique game

  • @MrFocaleile check out hurling a mans game

  • It's the fastest game on grass

  • U'd love to see an American team play tipperary or Dublin

  • id love to see ronaldo put his hand up in a junior b hurling match

  • looks like a dumb version of lacrosse

  • @fathippos14 ITS NOT DUMB SHUT UP, JEALOUS

  • @fathippos14 has lacross been played for 3000 years? ...lacross is a version of this. this IS NOT a version of lacross

  • @fathippos14 Retard

  • Ronaldo might wana learn a bit of this then the cunt would know about a slap in the shins.......

  • What butt raping each other this is gay.

  • I'm an Afro-American and thanks for this vid.

This game is so fun to watch

  • @OBJones28 i dont see what being afro-american has to do with anything

  • im from ireland and i love this game and i play for my school and club

  • Dont forget this sport is only played in Ireland!!! they forgot to mention that in the description.

  • @TheWaYnEmAc007 It's played in the US and other EU countries too by ex pats.

  • wait. wouldnt you just be allowed to hit the guy in the hand with your stick?

  • @lucasB823 no cause that could injur someone and you could be sent off

  • @dodobot5 so what contact is allowed?

  • @dodobot5 so what contact is legal?

  • hEy_åÑÿØNe_wàÑNå_chÃt_wIth_mË_ì_feÈl_só_lØÑêlÿ_tØÐâÿ...

  • What is Hurling ? That is a stupid question .

  • @demacksful 99.99% of the world doesnt know what hurling is u donk. What an idiotic remark,do u think youtube is only watched in Ireland

  • @1984ioc to be quite honest what american goes onto youtube just to search up ''what is hurling'' do they ?

  • @demacksful People of irish ancestory, people studying irish culture, people with an interest in sports. You would be surprised of how many people might have heard of it etc. Just go over the last 4 pages of this video and you will spot many people asking questions who obviously arent from this island.Stop being so narrow minded and use your brain...

  • @1984ioc i honestly dont care what you think . it was a joke JOKE lighten up 4 christ sake

  • @demacksful so its a joke now to cover yourself up,lol, whatever donk..You wont get replys from people whos views you dont care if you stop posting idiotic comments.Later loser...

  • @1984ioc Wait what irish person says ''Later loser''

  • @demacksful So you want to have a cultural debate now. Please explain more treky.I bet you cant even speak Irish fluently can you.

  • @1984ioc i can speak more irish than u think

  • @demacksful `look bud,im sorry,i shouldnt have ripped into you over your comment and realised you were making a joke out of all this.I think its time to admit this when i have no idea how the fook this conversation has developed this way or forgotten what the hell we were even debating over.Ta bron orm, ceart go leor?

  • @1984ioc Tá brón orm freisin. Ní bheidh mé a dhéanamh ar aon jokes níos dúr. An bhfuil muid cairde?

  • That looks brutal.

  • cum on de rebels!

  • When is the hurling season in Ireland? Is it a fall/autumn sport?

  • @Kosta63 Summer

  • What prevents someone from catching the ball and just carrying it all the way down the field? Can they be tackled or something?

  • @SlauterHouZe101

explained in parts 2 and 3. you can balance the ball on the stick and sprint, but you can only take 4 steps/strides with the ball in your hand. over-carrying will result in you conceding a free. giving possession to the other team.

  • @Cokane1888 Ah. sorry, hadn't gotten to other vids yet :)

  • @Cokane1888 Like ultimate frisbee. Only, everyone wants to hurt you.

  • @SlauterHouZe101 u can only walk 4 steps wit the ball in ur hand then u must tap it on the hurly then u may catch it and take another 4 steps then u must pass or a free will be awarded

  • @SlauterHouZe101 they can onli carry the ball in their hand for 4 steps r its a free,,,, or they can solo it on the hurley for as lond as they want

  • @SlauterHouZe101 do you mean in hand or on hurl. if its in hand you can only take four steps put it on the hurl. four steps and hit. on hurl yes you will get tackeled

  • Anyone with common sense and a bit of knowledge of sport would be able to tell that hurling requires a large amount of skill and balls.

  • I'm from Australia and have played Australian Rules Football, but Hurling looks just as WORSE!

One WHACK from those BIG FUCK OFF STICKS to the throat your FUCKED!!!

  • CMON THE REBELS

  • the layout is exactly that of Gaelic football...

  • why do all GAA clips on youtube always have to be of such shit quality

  • UP Tipp!!

  • In my oppinion (as a Dutchman) it's a mix of Lacrosse, Hockey and Baseball

  • @RobBemelmans An irish GAA supporter (like me) would consider that an insult...but i forgive you lol

  • @RobBemelmans hurling is over 3000 years old so id say lacross, hockey and baseball are a mix of hurling,

  • @RobBemelmans Lacrosse, Hockey and Baseball are derived in a loose way from this sport.

  • Now we only have to mix it with Humans vs. Zombies and some form of Domination / CTF, and you got the best game ever. ;))

  • @Evi1M4chine

    now thats some funny shit!

  • @Evi1M4chine you're obvously a gamer thats kinda lonely mixin gaming with sport

  • Terrible quality making the video shit.

  • This looks easy, but probably, in reality, is really hard. fun to watch though

  • this is fukin awesome

  • Can you just imagine if Cristiano Ronaldo Got a slap of a hurley across his shins??.. he would never get up

  • BEING MEXICAN I GREW UP W/SOCCER, THEN I GOT DA OPPORTUNITY TO WATCH A CORK V. LIMERICK GAME AND COMPLETELY FELL IN LOVE WITH HURLING!!! ITS SUCH A GREAT SPORT.

  • Hurling id de number one sport in de world. There's great craic!

    Up ya boyo!!

  • that is more like lacrosse

    lacrosse is exacly hurling

  • @Liuyifeng19 haha ok

  • @Liuyifeng19 a bit like but lacrosse is gay

  • @dodobot5 lacrosse is more manly than boxing and hockey

    the gay sport is soccer

  • this is like lacrosse baseball hockey and i guess you could say tennis as well. never played it but looks tight as hell

  • 've been in Dublin last week and 've seen a hurling match! Best game ever seen!!!

  • check out my videos ironicly ive only just started uploading hurling ones

  • people talk about soccer and get paid 70,000 a week!hurling players dont get paid 1 cent a year but they dont go around moaning like soccer players do

hurling is a great sport you need guts unlike soccer players

  • @THEIRISHVL97DIMIR That's such a load of bull. I love hurling and soccer and both require a lot of guts at the top level. It's some kind of Irish necessity that one must look like he's a 'brave bucko' or else he's not a 'real man'. Richard Dunne is as tough as any hurler anyway. Generally speaking, the people we admire for being 'hard men' in sport have to be to compensate for a lack of talent. E.g Roy Keane, Mullane, Denis Leamy, the cork hurling team

  • @chatsworth1buccaneer lol

a brave bucko hehehe...richard dunne is a retarded monkey who cant control his temper

so basically what your saying is richard dunne is as togh as say diarmud o sullivan!lol

  • @THEIRISHVL97DIMIR Richard Dunne has never been sent off for violent conduct and if you knew anything about soccer you would know that he is reliable, commanding and intelligent. Richard Dunne would probably not be as physically tough as The Rock but we are talking about guts, ie bravery. O'Sullivan is brave but its easy to be brave when you are the strongest man in Ireland. Dunne puts his head into places where he knows he will get busted, how is that not gutsy?

  • Hurling is a sport for those with guts. My brothers and I are on a team! You gotta love it!!!!!

  • O'Hailpin in the AFL used to play this. Sweet.

  • Wow this is like lacrosse/ football/ hockey(and yes i mean normal football not american gayball)

  • Jaysus lads cant ye all just stop the pointless bloody arguing and just comment on the feckin video?

  • watch: hurling tribute part 4 eoin kelly +micheal cussen goal. its awesome

  • GAA was founded in Hayes hotel,Thurles Co Tipperary!!!!!

  • Did anyone see the yanks hurling on CSI? Fair good. Gawan limerick

  • Hurling was around way b4 soccer so soccer pussies took goals from hurling. Baseball, cricket and ice hockey all come from hurling and shinty, so all soccer pussies, especially the retarded english can FUCK OFF!

  • Fuck this sport

  • thats because you are a little btc that would be too scared to play it :)

  • what do you mean? soccer should be the only sport with goals?

  • @RobertGoodFella

you would find it to hard to play with your handbag over your blouse!

  • @RobertGoodFella aaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha ye fucking sissy....soccer is GIRLS sport....ye get touched by someone else ye have to go down to the ground and make it look like your dying....FUCK SOCCER...NOW THATS A BORING SPORT ye dont wanna watch this ???? THEN FUCK OFF AND LEAVE IT TO THE IRISH WHO KNOW HOW TO APPRECIATE THEIR SPORTS

  • @cattyomuppet Totally agree that anyone who disrespects hurling should get lost. However Soccer is the best sport in the world, why else does every nation love it more than anything. Talking about boring sports...Gaelic Football is the worst I've seen, even cricket is more interesting.

  • @chatsworth1buccaneer shut up ur only sayin that cuz u cant play it prick!

  • @STIRO69 what exactly are you mumbling about?

  • @chatsworth1buccaneer By your reckoning McDonalds is the best reataurant in the world seeing as it's the most popular. You disrespect cricket and Gaelic football claiming they're boring yet this years FIFA World Cup was the biggest pig of a tournament I've ever seen,in any sport. In many countries basketball, cricket, baseball, rugby, ice hockey etc are the most popular. Should they be discarded to make room for soccer, the anti-sport. Jesus I hate people like you and your love of the bland.

  • @jarsonist I like Cricket, but generally it is boring as hell, why else would they ruin their own game's tradition by appealing to the masses and playing 20 over games - because a game going on for 5 days is boring and impractical. Gaelic Football is for talentless people who can't play Hurling. This year's WC was great for people who don't like soccer, but it is only an exception to an otherwise exciting sport. In contrast a good game of Gaelic Football is a rare exception.

  • @chatsworth1buccaneer I'm sure the millionaire professionals of the English Premiership are happy that you are manning the baricades in the eternal struggle against the amateurs of the Gaelic football world. If you think soccer is exciting then how must love all those overhyped 0-0 draws pumped out by the soccer propaganda machine otherwise known as Sky Sports. Search for " That Mitchell and Webb Look - Football", sums up you and your ilk. A barstool soccer bandwaggoner.

  • @jarsonist I'm not saying that soccer is perfect or that I'm perfect. I'm saying that Gaelic Football is ass ugly. By the way, that's a funny show.

  • I'm the only fuckin person in my town who knows how to fuckin play hurling right!!!!

They can't even play rugby right!!!!!!!

  • ahany guys want to chat i feel sooo lonely

  • It's like soccor w/ oversized ice cream scoops.

  • @MishuTaste Hurling has 15 a side, you can hit the ball over the crossbar. fastest field sport in the world. and the players all do it for the love of sport. Not at all like soccer. Real men play this. Our Football is better as well. Its a game where the ball is kicked and not thrown.

  • How the f**k is it like soccer?? You blind by any chance??

  • Well....let me see...it could be the....SOCCOR NET!!!

  • @MishuTaste how the hell is hurling like soccer, not sure what planet you from.Hurling is the best game in the world..Up the Déise

  • your a dick hurlings a mans game. soccers for pussys

  • Can't you guys laugh at something w/o being serious all the time?

  • @kingmacque

Then I am proud to be a pussy. I like eating it too.when Im not playing soccer

  • EH? Not quite unlike soccer/football it's not shite!

  • @MishuTaste hows it like soccer?if u play soccer with ur legs and theball is way smaller and u use sticks..ur retarded

  • @Celtic8781 You can't spell "you're" and you're calling me retarded. That makes sense.

  • @MishuTaste i knew u would say something stupid like that trying to get back at me for my spellling mistake..ever hear of writing short u dummy? oh sorry u means you understand?

  • I want to try hurling I'm 100% Irish

  • I want to try hurling I'm 100% Irish

  • @ChrisFog99

you never seen a game with exta ones?

I know. Your not old enough....

Did you watch the video? You'd understand my humour if you did.

I have watched lots of hurling. Mainly in the 80's 90's.

  • Same thing is happening over here in Holland. Welcome to the club...we got jackets.

  • and how much money do these people pump back into the economy? read "thinking the unthinkable" by Nigel Harris, it explains categorically why immigration is great for a country. don't be so closed-minded.

  • @societyinflames

Perhaps you should start reading other books. Open your mind.

  • stop spamming, this is your last warning

  • Yep....doctors told me I was incurable and could drink as much I want. But I had to have a lobotomy. Now I want to watch US football.

    (Hurling is great. :-) )

  • they are not always changing the rules in hurling thats ridiculous. Hurling is a more skillful sport than football (soccer) and I think its pure stupid that it's still classified as an amateur game, only Irish people behold the skill that is hurling!! Id like to see one of yee try and hit a sliotar!!!

  • That's why I don't watch hurling...they are always changing the rules, adding posts taking them away. Should be a Bar...i mean pub.

    20 a side, 10 pints/player and use cattle prods.

(just kidding I like the blood..lol)

  • if you had a brain you would be dangerous :P

  • if the sliotar goes in the net under any circumstance it 3 points accept if u throw it

  • i got a question. if you strike the sliotar on the ground and it goes into the goal post, dose that count as a point? i would truly appreciate it if someone answered my question.

  • If it hits the actual post, then you get nothing.

If it goes behind the line and into the goal, you get a goal(three points).

  • thank you very much. i know i could have looked it up on Google but i get more assurance when a real person tells me. thanks again.

  • once it goes under the bar its a goal equaling 3 points

  • thank you very much. i appreciate it.

  • If you strike it on the ground and it goes under the crossbar then its a goal (equaling 3 points). If it goes over the crossbar then its 1 point.

  • thanks friend. i appreciate it.

  • If the ball is struck on the ground or in the air and goes into the goal below the crossbar then it's goal which is equivilant to three points

  • @SevenSons7 If the sliotar goes into the back of the net...its 3 points.....but if ye hit it over the cross bar its only 1 point

  • haha :) i like both.. maybe some day we will put out a full strength team against yous and give yous a lesson!! :DD

  • I'm an Aussie who worships Australian Rules football. Having said that - fuck me hurling looks like a great sport.

  • @thecoffeebob is aussie rules AFL or NRL?

  • @ShaxAMV AFL.

  • com on tipp we gave away the all ireland we lost it when binny dunn went off

  • did u see that point from diarmuid o sullivan, best point in hurling history i reckon

  • Brick Walsh shoe-in 4 player of d year. CUM ON DEISE

  • ha ha your funny, tommy walsh definetly

  • I don't know much about hurling but one thing that has always put me off watching it is how fast the ball moves, I can't keep up with it.

  • wel lets all cry about dat
