I am very interested in this particular piece of music. Can anyone, please, tell me the name of its composer? Thanks. Excellent performance, by the way.
nice dance Hi, I'm from Mexico The first time I saw Ukrainian dance was when I was 10 years. (1974 approx) My parents took me and stayed in my memory. Congratulations
Kozachok is originally Ukrainian dance, I would advise you to try harder and do more profound research on the history of dance, song and the history itself. Kozaks as an arm force originated in Ukraine and had been protecting its borders years before Russian tzars started hiring them, using their services in various battles and wars.

I was lucky enough to be in a workshop that was taught my 3 Virsky dancers! I just came back from their last show in Edmonton. If you haven't seen Virsky live, I would suggest you do! It's an AMAZING experience! The performance was beyond words. It inspired me to keep dancing and to get better at what I do. I can proudly say that I love being ukrainian! Virsky really had got to come back to Edmonton! :D
I have Ukrainian danced for years, being first generation canadian we stay close to our Ukrainian heritage and I can say with great strength that Ukrainian dance is just that Ukrainian. We are not base of ballet or anything else. This is our culture and each dance tells a story as many folk stories are told, ours by song and dance :) Of course this group is AMAZING!
@MarschNZ You are very welcome and thank you too. One thing I know about Virsky he commanded his dancers to work hard, cause it's not easy to jump so high like they do that ))
This is a very nice performance. More emphasis should be placed on the national folk music of countries, not just that of the USA, like rap dancing, hip-hop etc.
Virsky is coming to Thunder Bay Onterio!!! and i get to meet every dancer because my dad is a concert promoter!! and my dance group gets to have a meeting with Virsky!!!!!! and i get to traine with Virsky next summer!!!! proud to be Ukrainian!!
I think that you are wrong. Newer saw that russian ensemble dance ukrainian dances. Maybe you saw the performe of Kubanski Kossacks Choir from Russia. That ensemble got mostly ukrainian program (songs and dances), because Kuban cossacs have ukrainian heritage.
Any russian ensenble dance ukrainian dances -) starting from Igor Moiseev ballet or Faizi Gaskarov folk dance ensemble (Bashkiria). There're dances that are both ukrainian and russian - f.e.kozachok
