How can people have such a lack of common sense? A stationary car does not undergo the same forces at all than a moving one! (Air resistance, maybe?) There is no single fuckin chance that a fiesta could go that fast, just picture it! I mean, 272 kph!!

I mean no compact hot hatch can reach such a speed, the 2005 ST went up to 204, the much more powerful clio rs does 240, but on a real road. So the lesson here is, the top speed is not measured on a dyno. Makes no sense.

You have to remember its on a dyno, theres no air resistance so it is purely the gearing. I used to have a focus svt and it was drag limited to about 135mph, but you could put it on a dyno and bury it past the 160mph on the speedo...

honestly guys whoever said this was mph is a dumb ass. 240mph = 386.23 kph. the bugati veyron has trouble reaching these speeds, you could drop a fiesta st out of a plain at 40000 feet and it still wouldnt reach 386kph . brains people , use them. nice st btw joogie

Safety. that's a front wheel drive car, and handbrake only works on the rear wheels.

@duxante i suggest a remap to your knowledge, you do not remap gears.... you change the actual ratio of the gearbox to affect the output speed from the gearbox onto the wheels, but its not going to benefit you because the car is going to lack power to rev with longer ratios

You are simply not going to benefit form a longer 5th gear ratio simply because your engine is not powerful enough

@duxante its only 2l :P the problem is that they are low on torque and the simplest way to show u my side of things is to max the car out and you will see that the car will just not go over some amount of revs in 5th gear flat out plainly because it lacks power to do so

and topspeed on the dyno was 272 km/h

thats not its true top speed, theres no limitations against it, its top speed is prob alot less than that, theres no drag or strain on the engine coz its not moving anything

Easy to go 240 since there is no drag. Only the vehicles gearing or speed restrictor would stop it from going faster.
