Dragonball is NOT dead. Live action in America has now become a complete laughing stock for all countries thanks to that movie. But it isnt dead. Just dont worry about it. Calm down and relax. Get in touch with one of the devining companys making movies. Go to some of the forums and see what asian versions of DB was and you will see what can be done.

The movies I would do Bardock the father of Goku, the prequel story of the Kais vs Majin Buu, and the prequel story of Piccolo and Kami when Kami first became guardian of earth, and it took him, roshi, roshi's master, and grandpa gohan to seal piccolo in that magic box. The reason I said no live action is because CGI would have worked better. The look I'm going for is a FF7 Advent children look. If you haven't seen Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children, its on dvd, you will like it. (there is more)

For adults, the plot is rushed and bad, the effects are lame, the settings and wardrobe sucks, the script is a joke.
For teens, the cheesy tacked on romance is worse than the worst Fox Family/WB teen dramas could ever think up.
Kids will feel insulted because they'll see more action in a Power Rangers episode.
And the martial arts scenes are so lame and fake it would be insulting to anyone who goes in thats a martialarts fan looking for decent fight scenes.
It really caters to no audience.

this movie aint for fans or for movie goers, all will be confused dont pay FOX or corporate your hard earned cash money stay away this movie must bomb as a message to all them crocodile bastards who layed their dastardly hands on dragonball, defiled a timless classic and expected me to ignorantly sit there and enjoy, they jus wanna sell toys and milk a franchise... Yeah...I love DB/Z/GT...and that movie almost reduced me to tears. It was horrible, truly horrible. I actually screamed when Master Roshi brought Goku back to life with a Kamehameha.

in 300, everything is legendary and all.. the fighting, the scenes, it resembled a 'warrior'...this on the other hand showed goku as another spiderman cliche..
All goku needed was not to be tht modern, not to go highschool, and wasn't wearing gel...
and toned alittle bit up, otherwise it would have been perfect

Because I think I finally understand that the reason the movie was made like this is because the anime is set in neither a mystical setting or a modern setting, but a combination of both, in dragonball u see hovering cars etc...
it is evident.. and we expected this movie to be like 300..thts why we are dissapointing...

I mean yeh, goku never ever went to hgihschool, and the whole draognball world wasn't as modern as this to begin with...
I mean Goku was more legendary, mystical, was scruffy, and was a little boy with a tail and all...ad yeh, i expected abit of 300...
But when goku trained with Gohan at the beginning, that was probably the best scene in the entire movie... Because the crying and shedding a tear was soo much like goku..

20th century fox is just going downhill for me they picked the wrong people to make this movie(ben ramsey, james wong, etc) the movie tries to do so much and fails dont go watch tis movie in theater or else u will help fox make another this movie was just born from a dirty womb oh well at least we got dragonball kai coming up so that should make it up for tis i hope

lol he graduated from driving school with piccolo. The movie wasnt that bad. It wa actually pretty good in my opinion. And he was 14 when he met bulma and 18 when he fought Piccolo Jr. And this is a combination of the Pilaf, Piccolo and Piccolo jr sagas
