Really nice set up. Question on transfer switch. Do you shut down the main grid to the house or do you use the transfer switch to run a line at time from your system as you need it? Or do you have to completely shut down the main to use transfer switch?
@katz217 With the transfer switch breaker box on my system, you can transfer from the power grid to solar power on each individual breaker. The transfer switch breaker box in my videos is prewired and very easy to hookup. You go from each switch on the transfer breaker box to each individual breaker house breaker box. I made a few videos showing how to do it. Yhey are on my channel.
I like your system, nice and clean. My question is on the batteries thought, is EverStart a good battery to go with for a solar system? I know they have to be deep cycle ones, but I hear just standard deep cycles don't last as long as AGM Sealed Lead Acid. Just wondered if it was because of budget or choice?
@thelegendbullet937 The batteries are marine batt. I bought them before I did my research on barreries. " My bad!" If i were to do it again I would get 6v golf cart batteries. Thanks for the post. Please subscribe.
Another Great Video.. I have been thinking about an Electrified Fence for a Defensive Perimeter. Researched a nice self powered Solar Unit, that can Stop Bears! Wire is cheap, and you can buy a 1/2 Mile of 12 gauge wire for $60. If you would like to share some innovative ideas for perimeter defense, I have a simple way to use it for Zone detection. You will be able to detect a Zone discharge or Zone wire break or Cut. Could be very useful in a WROL or TEOTWAWKI! Thinking "Out of The Box"
Fu, What size wire are you using coming from the panels to the cc? Also whats up with the Coleman cc? Thinkin about getting one to use with my panels. Still undecided. They are fairly inexpensive and well built IMO. Think they work as good as a cc with pwm. Wonder how much difference it really makes. Thanx man.-Nate
@N8Dogg1002 Iam using #8 stranded copper wire. But Iam only putting out 12.4 amps with 43 volts. Current is measured in amperes or "amps". You must use the correct size wire for the amperage requirement of the circuit to prevent the wire from over heating. You can Google "ampacity wire chart to get the wright size wire for what your panels are putting out. The distance from your panels to your controller will fit in to the wire size allso. The Coleman controller is for a future wind turbine.
That's flippin great man. All you need now is a reclining chair for mission control. LOL! Hope mine turns out that well. Ya got a wind turbine to go with those panels. Keep us posted. Later man.-Nate
@N8Dogg1002 Thanks Nat, My next step is to put up 4 more 100watt panels and then the turbine. I do have the controller for the turbine, so all I need is the turbine.
@Yankeeprepper Thanks Yankee! You allso have a great setup with your battery system and Lister motor. You know, people like you that spend the time making videos to help others are very special in this world. You should be very proud of the information that you share and the people that you help here on Youtube. I just want to say you are doing a great job and you allso have inspired me on my quest to be more self sufficient and be prepared for anything.
@OBXSOLWIND Thanks Kevin. You and ( Encopower)are the ones that inspired me to do this. You have the best solar setup that I have seen on Youtube. Thanks for your help answering some of my questions.

@katz217 Not wright now, but I think my next move is another 400 watts of panels.
