The Gaslight Anthem all day, man. That's some of the best road trip music there is. At night, I also like a couple smaller bands like The Reptilian and Native. Really cool ambient post hardcore/rock. Not sure what you'd call it. I just call it awesome.
Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream, hell even Melon Collie both sides! Also Deftones Around the Fur flows really well. Just remember, when you get to Chicago, dribk lots of Goose Island beer! Drive safe and God speed.
I'm too young to drive in UK, but when I'm stuck in a car for a long time, it tends to rotate between The Doors- Strange Days, Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here, The Vines- Highly Evolved and Led Zeppelin IV. Oh and Queen's greatest hits.
a 14 hour drive O.o holy shit in that time i would drive from my home time of Zwolle in holland al the way down to rome in italy :S still are you doing that all in 1 go or having like a break every 3 hours ish
ow and for some reson am always good with radio and stuff but i always have my hole music collection with me on my iphone so :P
Free Bird In-a-gada-davida light my fire dope smoker those 4 songs should hold you over for at least 2 hours and then put on the metallica catalog well really just the 1st 4 cuz you got some good songs also Iron Maiden's disogrophy plus since you need some "real" rap put on Run DMC and The Chronic go old school
Warning! Those are all awesome songs, they'll make you rock out and not watch the road, so watch out for trees coming your way! Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA Bob Dylan - Subterranian Homesick Blues Styx - Sweet Home Alabama Motorhead - Ace Of Spades Ozzy - Mama I'm Coming Home Deep Purple - Highway Star and Speed King, and maybe Burn Metallica - Fuel Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen Pearl Jam - Rearviewmirror other stuff Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall, part II Oasis - Wonderwall
Foo Fighters : -resolve,These Days,White Limo,Summer's End,Enough Space,Monkey Wrench,No way back,Free Me,Wheels,The first FOo Fighters album,Let it die,But Honestly,Once and for all,Winnebago,Gas Chamber,The colour and the shape(song),The One,Normal,The Sign,FFL etc.
The Vines: Outtathaway,Get Free,1969,Ride,Evil Town,F.T.W.,Fuk Yeh,Don't listen to the radio,Gross Out,Gimme love etc.
AC/DC,Pearl Jam,Alice in chains,U2,The Smashing Pumpkins,Oasis,Nirvana(Tourette's,Territorial Pissings etc.):D
bands like that ^^^^ but you always need something bait relaxing after ALOT of rock so deffs throw in some mighty PINK FLOYD <------------------------------------------------- IT WILL HELP :P
You needz to get some violent ass music playing. Slipknot, asking alexandria, miss may I, a day to remember, 5fdp, behemoth, a7x, b4mv, a skylight drive, of mice and men. Nothing would better for you than headbanging for 5 hours in a moveing van. Take my advice.
The new black keys album is excellent driving music. Also, an album by the band Quest For Fire. The name escapes me, but some of the songs are Strange Vacation and Greatest Hits by God. Safe travels.
PENDULUM!!!! Songs like "Slam" or "Crush". or anything DnB, I knoiw thats not rock but it's good for driving. as far as rock I like driving with thrash or sometimes slow stuff, to help me chill with the stupid drivers around me.
If you're going to Chicago and ypu say that it's you hometown. The perfect song for the arrival would be Homecoming by Kanye and chris martin. I know it's not a rock song, but it's perfect for the occasion.
That's easy Californication (album)... probably you would say that's an old album and you listened that 5000 times, but when you put the cd on the car with your friends it never fails.
But Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Fleet Foxes, Wavves, Nirvana's MTV Unplugged or Nirvana in general, RCPH, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, MGMT, Best Coast, Jimi Hendrix, The Joy Formidable, and the Black Keys.
Ok, ACDC, Black Sabbath, Led Zep,Johnny Cash,Ramones,Iron Maiden, Queen...RHCP and you KNOW I gotta throw some Sublime in there.
But if it were me, it would be 90's Hip Hop/Rap nonstop.ODB, Snoop, Biggie,Tupac,A Tribe Called Quest,Eminem,Dr Dre,The Pharcyde,Wu Tang Clan,Beastie Boys,Salt N Peppa,Wreckx N Effect and Cypress Hill.Perfect for night cruising.
The Band- Deja Vu. Led Zeppelin IV is a good one. Steppenwolf is all together road trip music. So anything them. White Stripes-White Blood Cells. and just cause... MCR- The Black Parade (I was semi-joking there. Love the album, but considering what u said they like, MCR is not relevant)
